My wife and I ate here during our January 2026 visit to Marco Island. We have been here several times in the past an again had a great lunch. It is a colorful outdoor restaurant with great c Cuban food. It is like sitting in a garden. The servers were excellent. We split a Cuban Sandwich which was great. I also had a Colada (a double expresso with sugar), which kept me awake!

On a Sunday drive we stopped here in Chokolosee 1st, left & then returned after leaving two others in Port Everglades which didn't excite our interest. Good choice. Ambience is excellent- 5 star. Nice tropical feel with blooming bougainvillea Music was an added bonus++ Service was prompt & friendly Food was on the stove & served quickly. Coffee was made fresh & enjoyed. Our meal could have been hotter but was tasty as we were hungry. When we arrived the patio had plenty of tables. In our hour of enjoyment it got busier. If going to the end of the road-Cafe Havana is best choice.

Front entry!

Great foliage, decor, unique seating, great vibe, lots of good choices on the menu, even a "Cuban" cigar roller. Music was heading in when we left. And lots of Pokestops to play.

Love this find in the middle of the Everglades. Highly recommend and we finally made a day trip to check it out. Food was fantastic, great staff, and love the atmosphere.

Bar Area

Absolutely loved this place! Such an inviting and fun atmosphere!! The servers were wonderful and all staff were very friendly and welcoming! And did I mention the Food I had the Huervos Rancheros with a side of home fries and bacon, let me tell you, what a treat!! All food was brought out in a timely manner and was soo good! The stars though are definitely Caramel and Buttered Popcorn.

I found this restaurant, I believe by searching on Yelp, when I was looking for a place to have breakfast while traveling on the Tamiami trail and staying in Everglades City. I drove the short route down the causeway bridge along the water to this gem on and Island. The staff cooking greeted me as I came in. My server was nice and friendly as well and ensured me about ordering a Cuban vegetarian breakfast. The outside huge patio area behind this restaurant is so peaceful and nice and pretty with lots of plants and trees, and lots of birds around in the morning. My breakfast was good and big and filling. I really enjoyed the black refried beans. The veggies on the eggs were good. The fried plantains were as well. I had a lovely time.

Havanna Cafe a gem in Everglade City, 191 Smallwood Dr, Chokoloskee, Fl . This small quaint restaurant has an amazing selection of local and international foods in a casual atmosphere with great service and excellent ambiance. We've lived in Miami for over 60 years and even though there are many famous and popular restaurants in Miami, Havanna by far has one of the best Cuban sandwiches we've ever had. Their pork sandwich is amazing. The pork melts in your mouth. This is our second visit and we thoroughly enjoyed the Cuban, the medianoche as well as the tostone appetizer. Additionally they have one of the best key lime pies, tart but sweet. I would definitely recommend Havanna for their amazing food and welcoming atmosphere.

We had been staying in Everglade City, and the only restaurant there was packed, so we stumbled upon this place before our boat tour and couldn't have been happier. First, the ambiance is awesome. Great outside dining area which is so cute and comfortable. All the chairs even had cushions on them for comfort. The menu for breakfast had some good choices, and we settled on ham croquettes and a guava and cheese filled Pastelito. They came out quickly and our server brought us some hot sauce in a little container which was awesome on the croquettes. I thoroughly enjoyed both items Our server was friendly and attentive and prices here are good. I would absolutely return when in the area.

Wonderful spot for a good breakfast and pasties. We always stop when in town. The breakfast sandwiches are the bomb.

We also had planned to go back with a group later this year. First, even though we asked to be seated indoors, they insisted we sit outside. There were only two others at the restaurant. The inside was empty but the owner later explained they were cleaning it. I thought the prices were high and they offered no lunch specials. But, going on prior Yelp reviews, I was led to believe the food was above par. Sadly, the food was OK but not great, and not worth the price. To top it off, they automatically add a 20% tip. I know restaurants do that with large parties but certainly inappropriate for a party of two. Service was good but I don't like to be forced to pay an automatic 20% tip. Tipping is done based on how good your service is -- so I would get stuck paying 20% even if service was awful? What I found to be off putting were the responses from the owners to reviewers; particularly, on Google. They accuse everyone who posts a bad review of posting a fake review and/or they got extremely defensive. Wow! How about a little humility and attempts to fix things. Sure wish I had seen the Google reviews prior to making my trip to Everglades City. I chose this place due to the great Yelp reviews I read. I should have checked all of the reviews because the bad ones were way more accurate.
