However, not a single thing in the store is priced, which is an instant turn off to me. We asked if there were prices or maybe a price sheet, and the lady (I guess she's the owner?) was rather curt saying "what price do you want to know?!" I don't know, like everything? She then curtly said they don't have time to price stuff and just ask if we want to know. There were a lot of items I was interested in, but I'm not about to ask the price for every single one of them, so I purchased absolutely nothing. As a recommendation to the owner/manager- price your stuff, don't make patrons ask for every single thing (and maybe be a little less condescending). I'd imagine this is a tactic to just get people to buy stuff regardless of the price, which is a crappy business practice.

They allow you to taste many of the olive oils they have for sale, very nice customer service. They have a great selection, and besides a nice variety and different flavors. They also sell balsamic vinegars, honey, great sauces, dressings, spices, all great quality and perfect for a flavorful meal. I regret not taking photos, but my shopping experience was fun and enjoyable. Great shop, I was impressed with their cool products!

5+ Star Review for Mercato Italiano…read more From the moment you walk into Mercato Italiano, you know you have found something special. This is not just a café. It is an experience that brings authentic Italian flavor and warmth right into the heart of Naples. Let me start with the espresso. The flavor was rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. You can taste the quality in every sip. It had that true Italian profile, bold but never bitter, and it set the tone for everything that followed. Now the food. I ordered a croissant sandwich, and it was nothing short of exceptional. The croissant itself was fresh out of the oven, light, flaky, and buttery in all the right ways. Inside, I had two sunny-side-up eggs cooked just right, paired with prosciutto, bacon, and ham. The combination of flavors was incredible. Every bite gave you a perfect mix of savory, rich, and slightly salty notes, all brought together by that warm, delicate croissant. What really stood out was the presentation. This was not just a sandwich thrown on a plate. It was carefully arranged on a platter, clean, inviting, and done with pride. You can tell they care about every detail. The atmosphere completes the experience. The energy inside is welcoming, relaxed, and full of character. It feels like a place where people come not just to eat, but to slow down, connect, and enjoy the moment. Whether you are stopping in for a quick espresso or sitting down for a full breakfast, the environment makes you want to stay. The experience was outstanding along with the service that made you feel like Family. If you are anywhere near Naples, this is a must-visit. Mercato Italiano delivers on flavor, presentation, and experience at the highest level. This is easily a 5-plus star spot, and a place I will return to again without hesitation.

I will certainly try them again as I understand mistakes can be made. Most people who have eaten here loved it. It must have been just one of those things. Do try it as people have stated the food was fabulous. Thank you Valero for your understanding and making things right.

A Hidden Gem in Downtown Naples -- Don't Sleep on This Place!…read more I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was buzzing -- the outside patio was at full capacity. I asked for a seat at the bar, and even though space is very limited, the staff went above and beyond to find me one. That kind of effort on a packed afternoon says a lot about this team. The bartender was phenomenal -- attentive, warm, and somehow managed to make every single person at that busy bar feel like they were the only guest in the restaurant. The whole staff carried that same energy. They were also wonderfully descriptive about the daily specials and menu offerings, which made ordering a pleasure rather than a guessing game. I decided to try the crab cake, and I'm so glad I did. I grew up on the East Coast eating crab, and I've had my fair share -- I've long held that Phillips in Maryland made the gold standard. I am happy to report that Captain & Crew has dethroned them in my book. This crab cake was pure lump crab meat, not overpowered by fillers or seasoning. You could actually taste the crab. The accompaniments they served alongside it elevated the whole dish even further. Thoroughly impressed. The wine pairings were equally well-curated. I took the staff's recommendations and they absolutely nailed it. A heads-up for first-timers: parking is the one small challenge. There's no convenient lot right there, so you may need to use a parking garage and walk over. Honestly? Embrace it. If you're already in Downtown Naples, it's a beautiful stroll that perfectly sets the mood before you arrive. Captain & Crew is a true hidden gem. Many people come for the fresh seafood market, but don't overlook the restaurant side -- it's absolutely worth your time. Highly recommend.

After sitting down, we started reviewing the menu and saw so many interesting items that it was difficult to choose. Fortunately, our server noticed we were struggling and she offered to help navigate us through our meal. Our goal was to sample a variety of options, but not to over order. And we accomplished just that! We started with some Stone Crabs, then some Peel & Eat Shrimp, then my wife and I shared an entree of Blackened Grouper with sides of fries and coleslaw, where we also added a few scallops. Delicious! We thought we were done, but our server informed us of the excellent Key Lime pie. We had room to share one slice, and we are so happy we did! It was excellent. A great balance of tartness and sweetness. We look forward to returning!
