We could not have had a better experience with the Fig team! Our photographers, Brian and James, were just incredible. They are both so talented, we have so many incredible photographs that we honestly cannot choose which to frame and display in our home. They were both so professional to work with--Brian even helped carry my wedding dress through the Zoo and they were both so willing to do whatever necessary to get the perfect shot. Our videographer Elle was just a doll--we can't wait to see all of the footage! And our DJ Alvin III really knocked it out of the park. We are still getting compliments on the amazing big band jazz tracks he chose and his wonderful ability to keep the dancing going. My husband and I hired Fig Media for deejay services after meeting with Brent. I really felt confident about our decision. The day of our wedding, we had Kelly Brown as our deejay. Kelly had called me a few weeks before the wedding and we only had a two minute phone conversation, which I thought was a little odd. The day of our wedding I knew we were in trouble when it took nearly an hour for Kelly to figure out how to introduce us. I had filled out a questionnaire with the names of our bridal party in order, but Kelly did not have this in hand, even though I spent hours filling this information out for her. Furthermore, my mother became ill, so we had do a minor change with intros. During the introductions, she called groomsmen by the wrong name (e.g., "Mark" instead of "Mike") and she never introduced the people dearest to my heart - my own mother and brother (who walked me down the aisle). The order of events seemed very odd as well. She did the parent dances and then my husband and I didn't dance for another hour or so (more on that later). My husband had to ask Kelly to get our speeches started and when my husband went to do his speech to thank everyone, it appeared as though Kelly forgot who he was and he had to introduce himself. During dinner, I couldn't hear any of the music. And when I could hear the music it sounded as if she would change the song mid-song. It was just odd. When it came time for my husband and I to dance our first dance - that was fine...until the music ended, there was about a minute of dead air time. Usually there is a song or announcement to open up the dance floor. My husband had to ask her to start playing music. We went about 2 hours without a slow dance, then she played a solid 45 minutes of straight slow songs. At this point guests started to lose interest and left to go to bars (didn't help that the Cubs game was on). I had countless guests that asked for requests that were never played. And she told guests that certain songs were on the bride's "do not play list" so I had to answer to angry guests at my own wedding. Utterly ridiculous. Our other venders even said something to me about the deejay - since we were so behind due to the long intros, dinner service was rushed. The manager of the venue apparently deejays in his spare time, and actually had to coach Kelly through the night. Even he was angry for us and questioned Kelly's experience. The only upside to this whole thing is that the Fig Media team immediately reached out to my husband and I the next day. They were genuinely concerned with our experience and I really appreciated their level of customer service. Believe me - I wanted to have an amazing experience and I will never get those lost memories back, since the entire night I was so stressed about the music (or lack thereof). I would recommend Fig Media; however not Kelly Brown. And the two stars are for the amazing level of customer service from Brent and the rest of the team. read more

My husband and I used Fig for our photography in our wedding 3 weeks ago, and we just received the pictures. AMAZING! Wow. Fig was slightly more expensive than other options, but honestly, worth every single penny. We had more than 1,000 pictures, most of which were fantastic, for our 8 hour contract with Billy, who also brought his assistant Andrew. Both Billy and Andrew were organized and responsive throughout the planning process. I cannot say enough good things about the results. The pictures were beautiful and really told the story of the day. Our package included digital copies and rights to the prints (2 big pluses that you don't always get w/ wedding pics), and 2 graphically designed photography books. We can't wait to get the books. We worked with Megan in the contractual process and she was willing to negotiate a good deal. We also booked them in the height of the recession so that might have helped a little :-) But we couldn't be happier and I highly recommend working with Billy! PS - In reference to the very weird cult references in some of the reviews below.....those links def do not look reliable and frankly, the whole cult thing seems a little far fetched for a media company. Plus, the person saying that Fig is a cult happens to note that she is a photographer in her tag line (perhaps competition or a poor business relationship in the past?). So that makes me *wonder* about the validity of those remarks. read more

Brian Carey at Fig Media was such a pleasure to work with. He was always so professional, and throughout the night my wedding party and guests would comment that we had such an amazing photographer! Our initial meeting with him was great, he had a really good grasp of what kind of sequencing of events would work best for the reception, as well as how to lay out the musical feast. And on the night itself, he did not disappoint. Really nice job of getting us through the various ceremonial elements and speeches, splendid command of the room when required (without having to be loud and obnoxious), and music that thoroughly satisfied our crowd of Colombians, Brits, and plenty in between. After contacting a couple different DJ services for our wedding, we decided to go with Fig. It was the best choice we could have made. We got paired with Brent, who made the whole process so much fun. His enthusiasm is incredibly infectious, and he was totally on board with our type of music: mostly a mix of oldies, 80s hits, and some select recent songs. Brent helped keep things moving smoothly, we had no technical issues of any kind, and he got all our songs played and then some. Two months after our wedding, people are still raving about the music. I was so hesitant to book a wedding videographer, especially because many I had spoken to were "artsy" and insisted on sticking to their vision, refusing to even consider the few things I was hoping to have (like short interviews with our grandparents). The team at Fig Media couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating, and as soon as I spoke to them all my reluctance to spend the money on a videographer was gone. The day of, they were everywhere but somehow nowhere - I hardly noticed their presence. But it was apparent that they took our notes and incorporated them into a truly beautiful account of the day that was just the right amount of artsy (I loved the "trailer" they put together for us) and just the right amount of getting all the major moments down for posterity. The video was delivered in a timely manner (which I hear is not always the case) and the team even made a couple post-production edits, which made the videos just perfect. I watch the trailer on our anniversary every year and am still so happy they convinced me that a videographer would be a wise investment! read more

We hired Fig Media and Drew Gee as our wedding DJ this May. Drew went beyond our expectations! He and his assistant really did a great job. Everything went perfectly! We were so pleased with all the song selections. He really listened to everything we wanted from singer/songwriter songs during dinner, to music to get everyone dancing during the reception. Everyone was dancing the entire reception from our little nephews to our 87 year old Grandma. We received so many compliments about the dj and the music! He was absolutely fantastic, and over and over went above and beyond the call of duty, from meeting with us twice before the wedding, to even coming to our rehearsal to meet our folks before the big day. We used Fig for their DJ services after seeing them DJ one of our best friends' weddings. They did a great job there, so we thought it was an easy decision. My wife set up an appointment with the owners of the company - and they met with us for an hour and discussed everything we wanted for our wedding day. My wife gave me complete creative control on the music for our wedding (big leap of faith) but Fig completely came through. After giving them our top 10 - 15 songs we wanted to hear, as well as some groups we liked to listen to, Fig suggested that Alvin Black (a.k.a. AB III) would be the right DJ for us. They were spot on! I met Alvin at a Starbucks and it was obviously he knew what he was doing. From that point on, Alvin was always accessible and on the day of our wedding, Alvin knocked it out of the park. Alvin knows when to take charge, keep things on schedule, and also when to sit back and help the party take on a life of its own with his music selections. Both my wife and I recommend Fig and Alvin Black. He was terrific at knowing the types of music to play during dinner, the early hours when all ages are trying to get involved, and late night when the younger crown is ready to get after it. We used Fig for both the photography and DJ for our wedding on 3/3/2012. We were impressed by both! Tim, our main photographer, was amazing! He is laid back which really helped to put everyone (especially my husband and I!) at ease. He was efficient and productive; we made it to five Chicago locations and still made it to our cocktail hour on time. Tim was with my bridesmaids and me before the ceremony and he handled being with eight, likely loud and somewhat nervous females in stride. When we found out that my father didn't have a tie with his tux he offered to let him wear his bowtie. It was a seriously sweet gesture! Brian, the secondary photographer was also incredibly great to work with. He and Tim made a great team! Brian was with the guys before the wedding ceremony and he was patient and flexible with them (they weren't ready when he arrived). We met with Tim prior to the wedding to walk through the wedding day timeline. He was detailed and honest about what he thought would work and what might not. Both Brian and Tim were very knowledgeable about places in the city that would make great spots for wedding photos and we definitely appreciated their input! We went into our wedding day confident that our photos would be amazing. Brent was our DJ and he was professional, thorough, and best of all, is great at his job! We just loved working with him. The dance floor was seriously packed all night long thanks to Brent's playlist, he felt out the crowd and went with what kept people moving. Our reception space had less than ideal acoustics which we were initially worried about, however, you would have never known being there. Brent did a great job getting everything set up and the music and speeches sounded wonderful! I do not believe that all of the songs on our 'must play' list were actually played which disappointed me when I thought about it the next day, but I honestly had so much fun dancing I didn't even notice at the reception. We met with Brent prior to the wedding and walked through the wedding day timeline. He took thorough notes and even helped us pick a cake cutting song! Overall we were incredibly impressed with Brent and our work with Fig Media and would highly recommend them to anyone needing a DJ! We used Fig Media, and more specifically, Brent Rolland, as the DJ for our daughter's bat mitzvah party in early Sept., 2019. He had been highly recommended to us by friends, and we had attended a couple of other mitzvahs that he did. And three years ago we used another Fig DJ, Betty, to do our older daughter's mitzvah. We could not be more pleased with their work and have highly recommended them to friends. (In fact, another friend is using Brent later this month for her 50th b-day party). Brent is excellent at what he does. He worked with us to develop a schedule & program for the party, asked a lot of questions to find out what we wanted, and did a fantastic job. He was able to mix up playing many different kinds of music to satisfy the teenagers and my friends and me. He is also low-key and a calming presence, as he knows what he's doing and makes you feel like you're in good hands. Most importantly, perhaps, he's just a lovely person with the most positive attitude I have ever encountered. We loved using FIG as our DJ and photographer for our St. Paddy's Day wedding! They were easy to get in contact with during the planning and really understood what we were going for. I heard of Fig from a friend who used them for photography and DJ at their wedding two years ago. After checking out a few DJs in Chicago and getting quotes from them, I felt as though I'd never find what I was looking for, for the price I could afford! Luckily, that all changed when I spoke with Brent from Fig. He was able to clearly understand our vision for our wedding, was on board with music selections, and was able to meet our price point! We were assigned to work with Alvin, who ended up doing a fantastic job throughout the night. I recently booked Fig Media as the DJ's for my nonprofit's annual event after seeing them at another fundraiser. The whole staff was great. Megan helped me to find a DJ who fit our event and budget. Our DJ Brent was wonderful. So nice, friendly, and helpful. He even indulged my requests for a couple overplayed songs that I knew our guests would want to hear. All of our guests raved about the "vibe' of the night and how it felt "cool, not like a normal fundraiser."
