I found Jax Muay Thai through IG and decided to follow them and even scheduled three personal training sessions and classes to attend while in town. First impression: Jayme ( the first person I met at front desk ) was super nice and welcoming . She was willing to help me with paper work and even Introduced me to few trainers and even offered to train with me and asked if I wanted to attend her classes which I did!! Thank you The facility was big, clean and organized . They have everything you need from weights,kicking bags, stretching area, ring and a big space to train with groups . Personal trainer: I was assigned to Coach John. Amazing trainer !!!! Very informative, knowledgeable, patient and will really show you techniques. I've had few training sessions with other trainers in LA and most of them just tell me what to do, unlike Coach John, he was very detailed and really watches your every move from footwork to striking. I was really impressed by that ! He was worth every dollar spent! I can't even say anything bad about this place bec this is probably my favorite gym I've ever trained in. Thank you so much!!! Every single coach is so knowledgeable and friendly. I was a bit intimidated at first since I didn't have an ounce of martial arts experience before I came in, but the entire staff are so welcoming. It's truly a family there and they will know you by your first name on your second visit. Even the other members of the gym who have been there for years are so kind and willing to help you out on basics. If you are even considering taking a class, do it, you will fall in love! He break down moves step-by-step, which makes it easier to pick up, and he is always willing to give you feedback to help you improve. I feel like I'm constantly getting better, and the live rolling is a great way to test everything you've learned in class. The gym is clean, well-kept, and has plenty of mat space, which is a huge plus. They offer a good mix of classes for all levels, and the schedule is flexible enough to work around my life. Love this gym! I…read morefound out about them via a sponsored Facebook ad. They were doing a 6 week challenge: lose 20 pounds or 4% body fat. It was just the kick start I needed to move the plateau. They have about 6 full time coaches on staff. Each class has 2 instructors. You do a 5-10 minute warmup, the coaches go over the exercises for the day then you get started! The workouts vary from cardio, strength, or blended. They are about 40 minutes and you get an all over workout. If you're a gym member, which I am as after only 3 weeks on the challenge, I realized how much I love it, they have ~quarterly fun events. Usually it's something to do with beer :) It's a great way to meet new people and have a great time. Please check out this gym. First workout is free. I've been training here for about three years now, and it's easily the most consistent I've ever been with strength training.
