I don't normally leave a review but have tried to give this place a chance one too many times. Normally I get a gel manicure and pedicure. The gel mani has started peeling within a week on many occasions. My last visit I got a regular mani/pedi. I asked the tech just to file my nails and she started to cut down my thumb. It was so short that it actually started to hurt. The tech doing my pedicure nicked me several times and didn't even have the decency to apologize. Then when they ran my card, they "accidentally" ran it twice and tried to refund one of the purchases. When I asked about it, she lied. However, I received a notification from my bank of questionable activity. They rush through their work and it shows. My nail polish chipped within 2 days. Don't waste your time. You will have to re-paint your nails when you get home. The took my American Express card for payment, then told me it was DENIED (because they don't want to pay the fee). I called American Express from the nail dryer and they told me that Fiji put in the transaction, then immediately reversed it. It was not denied. They made me use my debit card instead - no fee. I will start off by saying I gave this place two reviews because sometimes you are in need of getting everything done really fast , and they are great for that. They try to do everything at once seriously ... my feet, my nails, my eyebrows and a massage?! Talk about awful -- not relaxing at all. Some of the technicians are very sweet but on a whole they seem annoyed to be doing your nails, constantly following you for tips ( I have never stiffed anyone ever) and asking you 1000x if you need some other service they provide. The last two or three pedicures I've gotten my nails have chipped within a week and a half. Aside from these negative things, the salon is beautiful and looks very clean, they have a very good selection of colors, and there is a decent amount of parking. There is an atm in the back with not an awful surcharge since they don't accept tips on a card. I have found a nail place in Havertown I like much better so unless I'm just in need of fast and don't mine much about the quality I don't think I'll be back here anytime soon. read more

It opened today! FINALLY! I could not wait for this place to open! I have been going to another place nearby (which I don't care for due to an incredibly rude owner / manager) and very much wanted to try this out. The spa is BEAUTIFUL! It is clean, spacious, beautifully set up. There is parking in the front AND the back. They have a door at each end, which will be nice in the winter. The polish rack is beautifully organized (although it is only their first day) and they had ALL NEW bottles in there. I have never seen that! The prices are the BEST around (can't be beat, although they are matched by the place down the road). And.....they are open 7 DAYS a week !!!! How great is that? The owners (Mother / Daughter) live upstairs so they are going to keep it open 7 days a week all year long! AWESOME! They have a private room in the back for wedding parties and girls night, with pedi massage chairs and a bar. I probably won't use that but it is very nice and I can see a group really enjoying it. I called, they told me to come right over. I had a coupon for their other store, which they accepted without hesitance. I asked for the best and they penciled me in with Snow. Snow did a beautiful job on my mani/pedi. I asked, she gave. She seemed genuinely eager to get it right. I am not picky but I was glad for her approach. This isn't my standard nail salon, however, it has convenient hours. I would come here when I needed a quick manicure. The last time I came-I was being harassed for tips & this was after I gave them a decent tip for a subpar manicure. the workers were also speaking Vietnamese during the manicure, which is really rude when I am a paying customer. Okay.. it's been a lot of ups and downs with this place. I love the fast service. Not everyone's cup of tea, but you get right in, never a wait. Mani, pedi, massage, and facial waxing all finished in an hour. The coupons are great too. My huge beef with this place is the hidden cost. One day the manager was doing my nails, he painted the first nail and maybe started on the second and I stopped him because I did not like the color at all. He charged me $3 because he had to take off the nail polish on the 1 maybe 2 nails! So absurd. A complete manicure is only $10 and he charged me $3 to take off polish. I went back yesterday and I had dip polish on (a $35 service). I did not get the dip this time and just went with standard polish. They charged me $7!!!! Just because they had to take off the dip polish that I had paid $35 to put on. Absolutely ridiculous. And I have spoke up each time. I've given this salon a few chances only to be disappointed each time. The salon itself is beautiful, it's nice to have a large open space, which allows for better ventilation. Other than that my experiences at the salon were poor. There isn't much customer service, I found the staff and the owner to be very rude. Like other reviews here, the staff is very aggressive in asking you to upgrade your services and/or adding to what you asked for. My very first visit, I was asked if I wanted waxing three times, and then I was asked about my eyelashes and where I get them done because they do that too. A simple, "Are there any other services you'd be interested in today?" would be sufficient and customer friendly. Also, they charge extra for everything, I always use vinyl nail polish, which lasts longer and they charge $2 extra per service for it's use, so if I was getting a mani/pedi in the same color there's an extra $4 charge to use that polish. My first time there I used two vinyl colors, for my mani/pedi. For my feet I did half moons and they charged me $2 extra on my toes and on my hands I did one color and either polka dots, a half moon, or a cross with the other color. For my hands they charged me $4 for vinyl, plus $5 for design. I wasn't sure why they charged me $2 extra for vinyl on my toes and $4 on my hands, using the same two colors. The owner got into an argument with me and told me that maybe I didn't understand that it was extra. She basically talked to me like I was stupid and tried to write out on a piece of paper the charges. I understood what the charges were, however they didn't make sense as to why I was charged $2 for my toes and $4 for my hands using the same two colors. The owner explained to me that the extra was because of the design, to which I replied I thought that was what the $5 charge was for. She ended up not charging me $2 dollars more for my hands, but argued with me and was extremely rude. The second time I went in, I didn't really have any complaints further than the staff were rude again. They weren't as pushy with adding additional treatments so that was better and I already knew what to expect being so disappointed last time, so I paid the extra for vinyl $2 extra per each service using the same color for $4 total and was on my way. The third time I went to this salon was based on the hours again (they are open later than the other salons) and at 7p.m., I ran in to get a quick mani/pedi. I was the only customer at the time and had two techs working on me at the same time. I was only asked to upgrade for my pedicure and then also $5 extra for some foot scrub, which I agreed to, but was unimpressed with. The tech who was doing my manicure sat the soaking bowl for my nails on my leg, which I thought was strange since they're wet. The other tech grabbed my foot to lift my leg while doing my toes and before I would even think to grab, or move the bowl it spilled all over my lap. Needless to say I sat wet the rest of the time. They asked if I was okay, which I was okay, just wet. I had to laugh because I just can't get a good experience at this salon. I'm sure the nail tech will not do that again. The scrub that I paid an extra $5 for did not help, I particularly hoped it would help my heels because they're dry and cracked and I left with little difference in the extra dry skin surrounding my heels. Most importantly, the tech took the tools she was using to trim my cuticles and wiped it with a towel and then placed it back in a plastic covering. I thought to myself, well that's not sanitary.....ewww. Overall, this salon is convenient because of the later hours, but I've lived in Havertown for the last 6 years and normally go to Eagle nails.....I have no complaints about them except for a hideous spray tan I received there, but was refunded immediately with no questions asked. Their customer service compared to fiji is hands down better. Do not go to fiji nails if you have other options, that's the best advice I can give you if you like to enjoy your experience when getting your nails done. read more

The place is very nice when you walk in; spacious and looks clean and has a lot of workers. I visited this nail salon three times; 1st time I was impressed I don't know if it was because they were new or knew my mom and I were new customers overall it wasn't bad I actually enjoyed my refill and part of my pedicure it sucked that they rushed and barely massaged my legs because that's probably the best part of spending my 35 dollars on . 2nd time I went they were not pleasant they insisted i get a massage and an eye brow wax... totally annoying since that was one of the reasons I left my other salon. Would have given it 5 stars but while you are there they are very pushy about other services. If I could give no stars I would. I went here to get a manicure and pedicure for my senior dance. I got a spray tan hours before. I told everyone who I spoke to that I had a spray tan and I would appreciate if they didn't put lotion on me. Not one of these women listened to me. There was lotion put on my legs, feet and hands. Also they gave me and my friends neck massages I said again that I didn't wanted lotion, she said ok then seconds later there's lotion on my neck. My spray tan was ruined. My boyfriend was with me and he asked them not to clip his toe nails because he has ingrown toenails, they also didn't listen to his request and later his toe was bleeding. My friend didn't want fake nails, she wanted SNS powder and they started to line up the fake nails on her. I got my eyebrows done and asked not to do the tops. But again they didn't listen to my request. My spray tan was gone which was expected but my eyebrows were red for the next three hours. In total me and my boyfriends manicure and pedicures plus my massage and eyebrow waxed was $120. In my opinion that's a lot for rude service. read more

Terrible & painful experience... :( I went to have a manicure with my friend @7:00 pm and after the technician started with my friends nails (she put the nails on, then she cut my friend and made her bleed then she left her without saying anything for a good half hour) Then a different lady came to do her nails after I was done getting my nails done. Then another technician started to yell at us saying that we were there too late, she had to get home and take care of her baby, she kept rushing. Then my friend asked for shorter nails and the lady did not listen so my friend had to pay $10 more for the long nails. Worst nail experience ever. I went here for my first time because my daughter liked it and they have great hours. It is beautiful and clean inside. I was there for an acrylic nail refill. I got seated upon arrival and then an unfriendly woman did my nails. I'm okay with no talking, but unfriendly not so much. She was fast and while she was doing it she kept pushing my skin back underneath the nail which was unconformable and after 10 years of on and off acrylic nails completely new to me. Well I'm giving this review 3 days after because my fingers have been hurting so much-I couldn't type. I literally have been putting pain relief neosporin under my nails a couple times a day. If it were possible to give a zero rating, I most definitely would. I have had friends and coworkers who have come here as well, who couldn't believe I had not given them up yet. It takes me a long time time to give up on something, but it has finally come! I have finally had it! I had come to Fiji Nails for years, actually. As I write this, truly feeling like an idiot; the only reason I ever continued to come is their late hours, as it worked best with my schedule. On the surface, the establishments look lovely.....BEWARE... however....all is certainly not what meets the eye! Some of the workers are truly caring and honest, however, many of them are extremely nasty, unprofessional and don't give a hoot about you whatsoever. When a problem arises, the female owner, Kim, is extremely rude and has absolutely no concept of customer service. There is also a very short woman who works there, SUV, lic. plate GMM9772 who is amazingly nasty as well. Each of these comments are based on eye witnessed events, over and over again to fellow customers as well as to myself. There is a constant push to upsell, rush through services, cut services despite the price you pay, argue with you about little things like filling the side of a nail that might later snag pantyhose, treat you like a non person - answering their phones and talking to one another constantly during your services, nickeling and diming for extras that no one told you about till after they are already done, etc. No one here seems to have any clue how to do even a 10 minute mini massage....they repeatedly go over the same tiny spot while talking to their coworkers. They will rush customers out at 9pm, regardless if they are dry or not. They have no problem arguing with customers in front of other customers. There is no consistantcy regarding pricing, what's included in a service, length of time for a Spa Pedicure, and the list goes on! Please save yourself the aggravation and find another salon! I have gone to Fiji about 5 times over the past 2 years. It appeared new and clean inside, well staffed, and they get you "in and out" quickly. However, EVERY time I have gone in they pressure you constantly if you "want a massage" "do you want a pedi" "do you want wax today" etc. I would always leave and think "that was not relaxing, they were rough with me during the mani / pedi and kept bothering me asking if I wanted additional services". My most recent visit (which will be my last) was the worst! I had gone in with a girlfriend to get our nails done (mani + wax) prior to celebrating my bachelorette. We were so excited have a little pampering day before the evening events. We arrived in Fiji and they sat us next to each other. We were trying to talk to each other and they kept yanking our hands closer and were being so rough with us- slapping our hands to "put them in the water" because we were talking and weren't paying full attention to them. Then the other girl wheels her cart over to wax me- in the middle of the salon!!! She tells me to sit back while my arms are still extended. I told the girl that my arms wouldn't reach and they would have to do one service at a time. They didn't listen- she proceeded to pull my arms closer while the other girl yanked my head back to wax my eyebrows. Then I peek open my eyes to find the mani girl CLIMBING on the table in front of me to pull me closer. My friend could not believe what she was watching- I told them again, "STOP. this is too much at once. you will have to do these things separately"... again, they didn't listen. They finally finished the wax / mani and I was so relieved that it was over. I tipped them $4 total- $2 to split. And when they took the money she said "this is all for me?" and I said "No. That is for you to split" and they then started to talk back and forth in their language. I've been here three times. First time, I felt very rushed. Getting a gel mani/pedi at the same time is just uncomfortable. I was warned about the upselling, so I was prepared for that. I wanted specific colors on my nails and the tech seemed confused as to why I'd want that. It was just 3 different colors, nothing overly fancy. The constantly yelling across the floor in Vietnamese is also pretty off-putting. Makes you wonder if they are talking about customers. Second time I went, the girl was awesome. She chatted the whole time and was a pleasure. I wasn't thrilled with my hombre request, but it was nice enough. The third time, I decided to get a mani/pedi (first time they did not do that at the same time, but still had my brows done during the pedi!!). The woman who did my pedi could not understand when I said I had arthritis and to massage gently. She had to call someone over. That was fine. Then I was switched to a really unfriendly nail tech for my gel nails. She did a great job, but seriously unfriendly. I asked for a design, so I had to have yet another woman come to do that. A simple flower. A little girl sitting near by asked for a shooting star, and no one seemed to know what that was. I decided to try the spa and went in for a facial. I have never had one before. I had some questions, but the woman did not understand my questions and kept asking me if she should stop whenever I asked something. I kept quiet after that. Then she actually took a phone call during the facial. It was brief, but I was kind of shocked. She also did not understand that I had arthritis, so I was unprepared when she grabbed my hand and wrist. I was eventually able to explain that my joints are sore and to rub gently. Arm massage was not in the description. None of this is terrible, but I ended up spending $122 dollars. I used a $10 coupon. The women who all worked on me earlier were literally lined up waiting for their tips. I know the woman I tipped for my pedicure was not the one who did it, but they insisted she did my eyebrows and my pedicure. It was very uncomfortable. I tipped 20% for everyone, but it's too many people to have to tip and honestly, it's confusing b/c half of the ladies wear masks and white coats. I was running around like crazy trying to give them their money and when I messed up, they made me feel bad (I handed the tip for the facial to the pedicure woman). It's a beautiful place and they are usually quick and do a decent job, but the atmosphere is greedy and unfriendly. I am not a fan of this salon. The had one woman doing my manicure from my right side. When she went to do my left hand she had me cross my hand over to her. I felt like a pretzel and it was very uncomfortable for a period of time. She should have rolled her chair around to the other side of me. Then you have another women doing my pedicure at the same time and one is tapping your foot and the other woman is tapping your hand. Then you have another women come over and ask if you want a wax, or a massage..... It is a factory. Not very relaxing like a pedicure and manicure should be. I've always gone to Fiji because it was "convenient" But never really thought the job they did was great. I think they are rude and don't really listen to what you want....they try to convince you to get more then what you went for because they have become money hungry. They have more then 1 person work on you so when you leave a tip, it's not just 1 it's 2 or 3 tips you have to leave. I also saw them putting some solution in one of the nail polish bottles and I think it was watering it down and thinning it so it lasts longer (to them) which then makes your manicure chip and wear easier. I won't go back ever again. I have found a new place that is amazing, called Sittin Pretty on Manoa Road. They are so welcoming and nice and the place is so clean. I could not be more disappointed with the gel manicure I just received at Fiji Nails in Havertown. Yes, the place is quite elaborate and pretty inside, that is it for the positive. The technician rushed through the entire thing. I had let my nails grow to at least half an inch, most of them are now stubs. They are all uneven in length and shape. I do not think $25 (plus tip) is cheap. I would have expected this service to last more than 20 minutes! I guess some people prefer the in and out, not me. I'm hoping they at least last the 2 weeks that they should. I won't be returning or recommending this facility. read more

Worst gel manicure ever!!!! I don't usually come here. Not the go to place. But I was in a jam and they are open till 9 o'clock. The gel manicure was all over my skin, the sides on my nails weren't painted, and the polish was uneven. The nail tech told me it looked like this because of my nails. It was a fight to get them to remove it. I would of rather left with nothing on than leave with the way it looked. The tech that removed the gel got the remover all over my hands because I guess she was annoyed. Finally someone fixed it. Luckily that nail tech that fixed it knew what a gel manicure is suppose to look like. I shouldn't of had to pay for this horrible service. I also got a pedicure the tech was very nice and sweet. She went to grab a scrubber with skin still on it that she was going to apply to my foot. I asked her for a new one and she kindly grabbed a new one that was still wrapped in plastic. It wasn't her fault that her place of work is unsanitary. But the best part of this relaxing night was at the very end. I had chosen the deluxe pedicure which includes paraffin. Unfortunately my fault because I shaved my legs earlier in the day and whatever she was scrubbing my legs with made me break out in a rash. I couldn't receive the paraffin because my legs were on fire. They offered cooling gel. Since I didn't get the paraffin why would I pay the 5 extra for the deluxe? She said well you picked cooling gel? Who would pick cooling gel over paraffin?!!! I couldn't get it because my legs were on fire!! Cooling gel is part of the spa experience? No. This place is a scam. I doubt anyone has a license here. read more

I just left this place and will never step foot there again. I always go back thinking maybe I just got a bad person, but each time I go there I am wildly disappointed in all aspects of my experience. The employees treat their jobs like a race. They race through whatever they're doing so that they can begin the next customer. The entire time I was getting my nails done the woman kept stopping and talking to the person next to her, or tracking down previous customers to ensure that they did not skip out on her tip. If I didn't work for tips myself I wouldn't tip this woman at all. She did not care whatsoever about the quality of my nails so as she got through them quickly and collected her tip. In addition to having my nails done at the lowest quality i've ever seen, the ENTIRE time they have people walking around trying to sell you more things(massages, waxing..etc). The entire experience was as unenjoyable this time as it has been the last few times I went here. In previous experiences the woman I had did not even let my nails dry long enough, because she was ready to move on. It's a shame, because the location is great, but the experience is awful. I commented I did not want this. Then a girl came asking if I wanted a massage for $5, ugh! Then they asked re my eyebrows so I went with that while the pedi was goin on. She tried to upgrade my brows for another $5 to a color to hold for two wks. I had to ask about three times if it would wear off in water as I was goin to shore. She could not understand and never could give me a direct answer. Then in some mistakes with my pedi she had to always ask another as she did not speak english. Then they all talked amongst themselves while looking at me, very unprofessional as we are their business. There are other better places to go to where you are more welcomed and appreciated. Went there last night to get a gel manicure. Took my daughter she got a standard full sent tip acrylics. Here it is.. They are rude,pushing and unprofessional. I don't know about you but I value where I spend my hard earned money. I usually go to Nail Barr In Newtown square, but needed to get nails re-done before Saturday and wouldn't have the time and Nail Barr closes at 7pm on Thursday.. So I thought, I'll give it a try. First when my daughter went to pick out her nail color, they said sit down you can pick it later, then when later came, the women told her to "Hurry up" and pick a color. I had 3 women start the process of removing the gel on 3 fingers. The would start say hold on an a new women would sit down.. I have only have gels one time and my gel was easy peesy to remove. They were going home and such so the would just start then up and leave when their ride got there. There was NO Spa like service. No hand rub, lotion nothing.. I guess that's because we rejected the neck massage they offered for a dollar a minute which is not expensive. But we were not interested. They were clearly annoyed..And yup you guessed it they started talking about us in Vietnamese right in front of us. I don't need or ask for a lot but I do come from a background of customer service. I expect at least a good attitude and manners. Never going back.. Sorry Figi.. another customer lost. GET IT Together ! The only positive is that the place is visually attractive. read more
