A lot of people were doing drive through when we went. Time to Order: 5 Minutes when we went inside. One girl making drinks for a line of six cars and people - she was a real trooper! They have quite a few flavors and types of drinks, more than just smoothies. I got the Mango smoothie and accepted boba when offered (extra $0.50). My partner got the sakura lychee and accepted lychee jelly when offered (extra $1). We both asked for half sweetness. Both drinks were really refreshing. The sakura lychee was more lychee forward with subtle Sakura notes after sipping. The mango was great all the way through, good thick consistency and blended well so that it wasn't icy at all. Above all, I respect that their tapioca remained soft in a cold drink. They nailed the texture so that it doesn't harden in a cold smoothie, and that's seriously impressive. Service was very helpful, friendly, and quick. We got our drinks in about 5 minutes. I loved all the details in the aesthetic and design of the place. It was really cute inside. Also love that they have a drive-thru for convenience. BROWN SUGAR MILK TEA W/ BOBA: Good, sweet, as expected. ICED VIETNAMESE COFFEE: It was good, but it didn't taste like an authentic Vietnamese iced coffee. You can tell from the chocolate milk color because Vietnamese iced coffees should be darker. My bf said it tasted like they used normal coffee, as opposed to the stronger, traditional Vietnamese coffee. It's strong, but not what Viet iced coffee should taste like. He thought they might've used regular milk instead of condensed milk. I thought it tasted different too, like a different type of coffee, but not too far off from what I was expecting. I usually think Vietnamese iced coffees are too strong and bitter, but this one wasn't as bad to me, so that should tell you something. We needed a boba shop with a beautiful escape in the longpoint/spring branch area. Fiji tea is a Fiji oasis in the middle of the classic urban jungle that is Gessner. I met the owner and she's had a location in Hong Kong Mall for the longest time! The aesthetic of this spot takes me to a different place. There are 6 small tables with a good few outlets for anyone who needs to get work done or study. The llocation is right off of I-10, so very convenient for a quick bubble tea or coffee chat with a friend. Service was prompt, parking was plentiful and closeby. My drink was about $7 for milk tea with boba which seems to be the new baseline for bubble tea in Houston. The quality of the milk tea was no joke. When I started looking at any buzz around it, I was pleasantly excited to see so many good reviews that I had to check it out! When you arrive, there is a small parking lot. Since it is a newer establishment, there weren't any painted lines in the lot, but plenty of space available. When you walk in, it is cutely decorated and they have several great options to choose from. There is finally a place to get a Viet frappe in spring branch and it's actually good consistent with what you would find in Chinatown Bellaire area. On my first visit, I got the lychee Sakura smoothie with boba and on the second wasn't too late, so I got the Vietnamese coffee frappe with Boba as well. Since this is right down the street for me, that's a good thing and a bad thing.
