I really had a good experience here yesterday. I finally checked out Fraiche in the afternoon, and it did not disappoint! Despite hearing it can get pretty crowded, I must have timed it perfectly because it wasn't busy at all and I was seated right away (I sat at the bar/counter). The ambiance is lovely and the service was top-notch, but the food is the real star. Huge shoutout to the lady cook working the kitchen--she's a rockstar! I ordered the lavender lemonade which was a little sweet and the salmon patties, grits, and potatoes, that was seasoned to perfection. The portions are massive; I had enough left over to take a full second meal home with me. I'm already planning my next trip back to try some more things. Highly recommend!

This place is super busy! Every chair and booth was occupied and they were working on at least three to go orders, so you know the food is good! Good place for a casual date.

My whole experience was a 10/10. Food amazing, and customer service was phenomenal. It's a cute little gem with hip hop vibes. Highly recommended!!

Lamb chops with eggs and potatoes.

This place lived up to the hype. The food really shines and the service is attentive even though they are non-stop busy. We got the waffle flight with a side of eggs and sausage as well as the lamb chop with eggs and potatoes. The lamb chops were superbly done, tender and well seasoned. And the eggs were also a pleasant surprise. Light and airy, with tonnes of cheese. The atmosphere was welcoming and they definitely have a neighborhood vibe, with many of the customers on first name basis with the staff. Will definitely be back!

My cousin randomly chose this place as he was looking for brunch restaurants in the area. Parking was a bit challenging but it's winter in Cleveland, Ohio - need I say more? The black-owned restaurant is small and from the size of it seemed to have been previously a bar. It was pretty crowded but we found an area that would accommodate the four of us - it was a tight fit since I am on the fluffier side, but doable. Classic Hip Hop music was playing and they had pictures of artists like J Cole and Biggie Smalls with rap quotes referencing breakfast food. We were greeted warmly by the CEO and when she found out this was our first time there, stated she would check on us periodically to ask how we enjoyed the experience. The servers were also very warm and welcoming. The menu is not extensive, but if you like chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, omelettes, potatoes, skirt steak or lamb bites, you will enjoy this place. My brother had the Gouda Grits Bowl with steak, my cousin had the waffle flight which had a slice of all four types of waffles they offer on the menu, my cousin's wife had the steak omelette, and I had the vegetable omelette. The omelettes came with breakfast potatoes - which were spiced just right with a bit of a kick, and your choice of Texas toast or wheat toast. My cousin and I did have to wait a few extra minutes for our wheat toast, but again, the place was pretty packed. The food was phenomenal! My vegetable omelette was absolutely delicious - the vegetables were cooked in a manner that preserved some of the crunchiness. The ambience, service and food tasted like this place had been open for years, but we found out they had opened a few months ago! I am definitely telling my family about this place and plan to return on my next visit.

Easy parking in the back and entrance from the back (could use some signage). Was greeted by two people as I walked in, and the server made a fresh pot of coffee for me, which was served steaming and fresh. I couldn't decide, so I ordered the waffle flight and the salmon patty bowl (recommended by my server) and took home leftovers. The Biscoff waffle was my favorite, but all were great. The salmon patty bowl was comfort in a bowl and had phenomenal flavor. The grits are amazing. I can't wait to go back and try some more things on the menu. I also enjoyed the soft R&B music. It gave the place a cool vibe.

This is a waffle flight with 4 different flavor waffles!

For lunch, the buddha bowl and chicken & avocado sandwich are both elevated classics. My husband raves about the fish sandwich - and the salad that comes as a side is anything but simple. When you enter, you'll order with the cashier and then find a seat with your number. Typical counter service - but what makes Northstar special is that the interior feels more like fine dining and the food is much much better than your standard fare. Worth a trip for its own merits, the fact that it's located in a nice shopping area is also a draw, especially for a weekend when you want to have a leisurely stroll.

Frittata was good too. We also had hot chocolate and hot apple cider... Perfect for the cold January morning. Overall we liked this place and highly recommend it.

Figured we'd give Tommy's a shot, not knowing it's this long-standing institution with a devoted fan base. That fandom is deserved. Brightly lit, clean, friendly staff. We were seated immediately. Really interesting menu with a lot of vegetarian and eclectic choices. $5 basket of fries was wayyyy big and some of the best fries I've ever had - a nice crispness on the outside, while fluffy inside. Wife's spinach pie with muenster cheese ($11.85) was flaky and generous with the fillings. Loved my $3 phosphate. My DC falafel sandwich ($14) - with sesame seeds, cheese, sprouts and tomatoes - was crazy big and the falafel was perfectly cooked, with a nice crunch. Our server Kelsey was really personable. All in all, just a great dining experience and if we lived in the area, we'd be frequent fliers at Tommy's.

We ordered the chicken & waffles and the peach pecan pancakes. My wife had a coffee and I did something unusual and had a glass of pineapple juice. The coffee was solid and the pineapple juice was not the cheap stuff. It wasn't artificially colored, thin junk. It was like they juiced a pineapple. They may have. I don't know. The food arrived and we were so excited because it looked delicious. Kayt stuck her fork in the chicken and, I kid you not, juice shot out of the chicken and arched up into the air and landed on the table. She was kind enough to share a couple bites, and this was some tasty, juicy, perfectly seasoned chicken. Her potatoes and the waffle were great too. My peach pecan waffles were great too. The pancakes were more like a sheet cake. They weren't as sweet as sheet cake though, which was perfect because the peaches and the syrup added plenty of sweetness. Overall, we were super pleased. With tip, it cost about $60-65. A bit on the expensive side, but ok for an occasional splurge. My wife says it's the best chicken & waffles she's ever had.

The space itself is huge, which I appreciated -- no feeling crammed into a tiny dining room or hovering awkwardly near other tables. It's filled with natural light, giving it an upbeat, welcoming vibe that makes you want to linger over coffee and actually enjoy your meal. The menu is extensive, with something for every kind of breakfast/lunch mood -- sweet, savory, classic, or a little indulgent. It took me a while to decide because so many options sounded good. The food absolutely delivered: everything was fresh and flavorful. Portions were generous without being overwhelming, and every bite tasted like real comfort food done right. I did a "fish & sweets" combo with crab cakes and stuffed French toast. The French toast was so good. It was cream cheese and mixed berries. The potatoes were cooked perfectly and seasoned so well. The waitresses were genuinely helpful and attentive without hovering. They checked in at the right times, answered questions about the menu, and kept things moving smoothly even though the restaurant was busy. Location-wise, it's in a great area and super easy to get to. I was pleasantly surprised to find metered parking right in front -- a huge win, especially if you're used to circling blocks for brunch spots. Definitely a place I'd return to and recommend to anyone looking for a reliable, feel-good breakfast or brunch in Cleveland.

Venture out and explore the area while visiting the inn. Let me share my latest experience, one of many. AMBIANCE: This cafe feels nostalgic and comforting. Simple surroundings - white brick walls, plaid tablecloth, chalk menu boards, and CLE spirit on the walls. It feels like the cafe recently received a gentle face lift. You'll usually find the cafe quiet during early weekday mornings and very lively on weekends. Seating is limited to one dining room. If I had to describe this cafe in one word it would be unpretentious. FOOD: I visited this cafe plenty of times over the years. My favorite dish is lemon ricotta pancakes - perfectly zesty, fluffy, and perfect. I find the rest of the menu to be simple - Benedict, omelets, scrambled eggs, pancakes, burgers, and sandwiches. Early birds (7-10 AM, dine-in) get access to $7.99 value breakfast special. What a deal! My latest order included Meat Lovers Omelette ($11.32), Texas Toast ($0.50), and Hot Tea ($3.08). The price for omelette was different from the menu, listed as $12.99 in the menu. The up-charge for Texas Toast was not shared during ordering. The portion was pretty small, extremely light on the meat. Potatoes were cold. Toast was very small, and also not warm. The meal was not as good as during my previous visits. The tea was a small teapot of tea for $3.08. The tea was just Bigelow tea bags. The teapot did not look particularly clean. Pricing tea so high for tea bags is a strange choice. It seems like a very handsome profit margin. SERVICE: The service was really good and customer focused. In the past, the service used to be chaotic and mediocre. My waitress Anastasia was very warm, attentive, and anticipated my every need. She also informed me about the timing of the order. Huge kudos on service! Great change! PARKING: The main parking area is a parking garage on Coventry. The garage is city owned and free to use. There is also free limited parking in the area. I would recommend visiting the Inn for lemon ricotta pancakes. They are really a special and delicious breakfast meal. I won't be a frequent visitor. I'd rather have a more hearty breakfast that is warm and delicious.
