It was such a pleasant surprise to find Filipino food in Barcelona. Fil Manila was a bit hard to find after coming from La Rambla street but I'm definitely glad we found it! We came here on a Friday night and there was a fair amount of people dining in. Despite having a few tables to wait on; the waitress here was quick to take our orders. We happened to come on a Lenten Friday and so our options for non meat was a bit limited. We got Ginataang Dorada and Tuna (Fish in Coconut Cream), Pancit Miki Bihon (Noodles) and Paella Mixed Seafood. Though our orders were placed quickly. It took quite sometime to get our orders. It took a good hour and we were quite hungry by the time our meals finally came. The Pancit Miki Bihon was beautifully plated but I was definitely surprised with the small portion size. The small portion size was a bit of a bummer as thought the Pancit itself was pretty good in flavor. It has a good mix of veggies with cauliflower and brocolli. The Ginataang Dorada was also an ok dish in terms of flavor. It has lots of beans and some butternut squash. There was definitely more green beans in there than squash. This dish was enjoyable with white rice. We also tried some of their puto; Filipino steamed rice cake. The waitress told us these were freshly made. These were very soft tasty. It was really nice to find Filipino food in Barcelona. The meal was enjoyable though there were some things I wish were a little bit better in terms of this visit. The wait time for food was too long and also thought portion size was a bit small. Despite this; I am still very happy to have enjoyed Filipino food in Barcelona. I've always thought Filipino food should be known worldwide and definitely loved seeing a Filipino spot in the heart of the city. read more

An easy to miss location amongst all the sights and stores in the gothic quarter, we ventured out one night craving some Filipino food and found this place on Yelp. A short walk over from The Rambla and our hotel in the gothic quarter, this place offered friendly service and a taste of home for those looking for authentic Filipino foods as well as those looking to try something new. We had the sigsig, pancit, and lumpia... our usual go to food when trying any new Filipino restaurant and all of them were served up tasty and yummy. The pancit was flavorful, the sigsig was crunchy and spicy. We topped it off with a halo halo which was also very good. Nearing the end of our dinner, a group of Filipinos entered all searching for some comfort food and they ordered a large amount of many dishes, so I assume they found the place after hearing about it from other Filipinos thru the grapevine Definitely a different cuisine than most of the other Spanish restaurants and fast food American places and would recommend a visit ! read more

Food was very good, if you are on a trip in Barcelona & been missing pinoy food soo much for days/weeks ths could be your go place as a group or even solo traveler, easy to find because its very close to the La Rambla & its a busy area, seems safe to walk around those little streets even at night but off course still take extra careful. Service was fast, the staff are all friendly & very helpful. The overall resto was pretty much well set, clean & even the restroom was neat. I can't give this place anything higher than 1-star. It's our first meal, during our first visit in Barcelona. And we were not happy. Here is my personall opinion about his place, based on my own personal experience. First, the food. We ordered the crispy pata and the kare-kare. The crispy pata's meat was tender and moist, but so is the skin - the crispy pata skin is suppose to be crispy (crispy pata, hello), and NOT tender and moist. The kare-kare was just ok, but there were hardly any meat in there. Next is service - it took them over 1 hour from the time they took our order, to the time our food was delivered to our table. And, we had to ask them twice for our order! The place was not even that busy, so that is not acceptable. And finally the price, this place is not cheap. Not overly expensive, but definitely not cheap. Bad food, bad service, and pricey - the trifecta of what a restaurant should NOT be. I came here for Pinoy food specifically lomi so we ordered pork belly with egg and fried rice, halo halo and lomi, everything else was good typical pinoy food but my concerned is the lomi that i ordered was like regular pancit with a little bit of broth not even close to what really lomi taste like and the broth supposed to be thickened with beaten eggs not like this one and it has a celery, zucchini and bell pepper, What the?! I cooked lomi my self but if you want to fool the customer for fake ass lomi and charge them with your fake ass lomi price that is some bulllshit! Your cook need to watch some YouTube videos how to cook it right or something don't represent pinoy food if you don't know how to make them. While on vacation, my parents got a little tired of eating European food and wanted something closer to home. We were quite pleased to find many local filipinos suggest this restaurant and luckily was walking distance from our hotel in Las Ramblas. The service was so homey and welcoming and honestly, comforting being in a foreign country. The food was extremely delicious and tasted like lola's home cooking. I've been to the Philippines many times, and I know what the food should be. This wasn't it. Also seemed they didn't really want us there. We should have walked out, but junior was hungry and it was getting late. They didn't seem eager to serve us, and when my wife asked for halo halo they said they were out (but shortly after served it to some folks that came in after us). A very disappointing and annoying experience. I can put up with a little annoyance if the food is good enough, but it wasn't. Go someplace else. While my husband and I were at the boqueria around the corner I happened to meet a few Filipino stall workers who told us about Fil-Manila. We decided to stop by for dinner because my husband wanted a Filipino food fix. We walked in at the same time a family walked in, and we were the only two tables in the restaurant during the time we were there. Here are the pros and cons as I see them: PROS: -They have a fairly diverse menu that includes halo-halo, diniguan, kare kare, pancit, lumpia, sisig, etc. -The food comes out faster than any Filipino restaurant I've ever been to! Can't speak to whether it's the same when the place is packed, but we were amazed at the speed which we received our food. -You definitely get your Filipino food fix here. We had adobo, lumpia, and sisig. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the sisig. I was happy with the fatty cuts of pork in my adobo. CONS: -They probably won't have everything on the menu. My husband asked for halo-halo first, and was told they didn't have any. -It's not your mother's or your Lola's food. Of course, when I go to any Filipino restaurant, I have that shining example of my mom's cooking - that impossible gold standard - to hold it against, and it always fails miserably. The pork adobo is made with the right cut of pork, but the sauce is less soy-saucey (technical Filipino cooking term) and not vinegary enough. The lumpia was good but the dipping sauce had a different kind of acid than I am used to. -I skipped the bathroom because when my husband returned from the men's he said it wasn't very clean. -They don't have karaoke. This should be a requirement of any Filipino restaurant after 7pm. Bottom line: good for a fix, skip if you're a stickler. read more

I walked in with no expectations but I'm from the states and you can get a full authentic meal (2 entrees with a side of rice, soup, and a drink) for an average of $7 USD. I hate to give a low rating but I think it is necessary. This place was recommended by the hotel where we stayed. The place is nice. This is the first time I encountered that the restaurant was trying to rush their client to order. When I heard the server say "You need to order now because the kitchen is going to close", so that meant that we are the last customer. I feel bad that we're causing them to be late to be with their family. But my daughter wanted to eat halo halo so much because the weather that day is warm. So I decided to stay. That is the first thing she ordered and I follows the BBQ, lomi and chop suey. After around 20 minutes our food arrived. She served the BBQ, lomi and last the chop suey but not the halo halo. I thought she will serve that last since that is dessert anyway. A few minutes before she served our food here come two customers asking for halo halo. No question asked, they served halo halo. We are in the middle of our meal here's another customer, and ordering meal. Really? I thought the kitchen is closing so why were they still taking another order? The worst is at the end I asked for my daughter's halo halo. She replied "sorry no more ingredient, tomorrow". Wow! We ordered first but we didn't get it. The kitchen is closing, after 30 minutes still accepting order. What a lie! The BBQ pork is mediocre. The lomi has not much flavor need to add Patis and pepper to give the body. Chop suey, well I can't be a liar, I like their chop suey. But I don't think I will come back to this place. I hate liars. I found better places with better food around and at a reasonable price. They charge for the rice! It's normal for Asian restaurants to include rice. Their initial price is not too bad, but it's an incomplete meal. If you want to complete your meal with rice I can say it's no longer reasonable, it's a bit pricey. read more
