I highly recommend Dr. Filbert Nguyen of Woodland Healthcare Eye Institute for cataract surgery. Dr. Nguyen operated on both my eyes. Dr. Nguyen is highly skilled. The operations were painless and there was no complication. Dr. Nguyen is a great communicator. He explained everything to me and answered all my questions. I have no doubt that he had other patients to take care of, but he never appeared rushed when he was with me. Dr. Nguyen did not pressure me to choose expensive procedures or expensive lenses. He agreed with my choice of standard intraocular lenses focused at infinity. Dr. Nguyen was careful. He had a comprehensive list of do's and don'ts. I followed his instructions and had no complications. Before I had the cataract surgeries, I had trouble seeing even with eyeglasses. I also had double vision. Dr Nguyễn is a very personable, confident and knowledgeable professional who listened carefully to all my concerns. He not only answered all my questions but explained them thoroughly and with great skill. As a nurse, I totally understand their time constraints but I did not feel rushed at all. I highly recommend Dr Nguyen. I was also impressed by how organized, professional and personable his staff is particularly Janice. Janice had everything ready (from scanning my eyes to dilating them). Her infection control practices gets a five star rating, always sanitizing her hands before and after each procedure as well as cleaning the equipment. I would like to highly recommend Dr. Filbert Nyugen for both Cataract and Pterygium surgeries.I'm in my 70's & I was having problems seeing clearly both at close range & at a distance. I was also seeing halos while driving at night. It felt like all cars coming at me had their high beams on. Reading glasses no longer were helping me. So I went to see Dr. Nguyen who diagnosed me has having Pterygiums & Cataracts in both eyes. I also was nearsighted in one eye & farsighted in the other. He said that my eyesight would really improve after the cataract surgeries. He recommended that I do the Pytergium surgeries first & once healed then the cataract surgeries .So I did the Pterygium surgeries one at a time & both were successful & healed nicely. Each took about an hour & Dr Nguyen was very professional & helpful. I was given some medication to comfort me but I was awake to move eyes in different directions when needed. After a couple of months to heal the Cataract surgeries were done one eye at a time and a month or so apart. Each took about 30 minutes and were pain free. The medication given was similar to that of the Pterygium surgeries. Again Dr. Nguyen was very professional and helpful. After the first cataract surgery was done it was truly amazing to see what true colors I'd been missing. A flower bush in front of my house now had beautiful blue colors from my cataract surgeried eye compared to the dull looking blue color with the yet to be cataract surgeried eye. Both cataract surgeries were very successful & I am extremely grateful to Dr. Nguyen for his professionalism and demeanor. I must mention that in the cataract surgeries I opted for a farsighted lens to be put in one eye & & a nearsighted lens in the other. Dr. Nguyen was able to do this for me. All the surgeries had follow up appointments in which Dr. Nyugen kept me totally informed of my progress. After the surgeries I now have very good vision in both eyes. I can even drive at night with no problem. I was given a prescription & I did get eyeglasses but I rarely use them. I can see both far and near with no problem . I feel so blessed and happy that everything worked out with my surgeries. I will be forever thankful to Dr. Nyguyen for making it possible. I highly recommend Dr. Nyguen for any cataract or Pterygium surgery you might have. He's the best!!! read more
