I became a wine club member here on my last trip to Avila Beach in October when I visited their Shuck Shack (which I've also reviewed). I was super impressed by everything I tasted. For Thanksgiving this year I had their 2024 Pinot Noir Carbonic wine from the SLO Coast AVA. A typical Thanksgiving meal is always a bit tricky when it comes to wines as you've got such a variety of tastes going on. This bottle, however, handled it perfectly! It's a bit of a lighter style Pinot Noir. The flavors, which include some cranberry and spice, and finish worked perfectly with the meal. I'm looking forward to purchasing some more. read more

Really enjoyed our experience here and of course the wines! Matt guided us through our experience telling us about the winemaker, the labels, the wines and the vineyards. We love to learn about the wineries we visit! He even let us try their 2005 Pinot Noir which was killer for a 20 year old wine!! Loved the flight and PetNat as well as their carbonic Pinot. Super dog friendly patio and highly suggest the oysters and bread (the butter is locally made as well as the bread and olive oil!). Loved all their wines they had to offer - the Syrah and the NV Eclipse were our favorites, and we took home a bottle of each. Evan was super friendly and knowledgeable during our tasting. They also offer a small food menu, and the Shuck Shack Oysters are the best delicious addition to your wine tastings. Overall, a very enjoyable time wine tasting. I found this place by having some of their wine at a restaurant in Grover Beach. My husband and I went there and sat down and I had wine and caviar and I spoke with a wonderful woman that works there. Then I signed up for the wine club. I've already received one shipment and everything was delicious. I live in Southern California, but we go to the central coast once a year. I will be back. This place is a true gem ! We stopped by at this place because of the FRESH OYSTERS outside the restaurant. I brought my dog with me and we were allowed to stay outdoors with him. The wine was delicious! My husband and I decided to give this tasting room a try when we were out and about for his birthday. We absolutely loved their wines and their service! Irena was our tasting room host and she was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Some of the wines we took home with us were the 2017 White Label Chardonnay, 2017 Black Label Syrah, and the 2018 Estate Syrah. We discovered this winery within the past few months after taking a walk down the Bob Jones trail with 2 small dogs in tow. So glad my spouse and I visited, we agreed on enjoying every wine. That happening means a guaranteed wine club membership. Signing up was easy, the day 1 commitment was a set dollar amount (equivalent to a purchase of about 2 bottles), then we'll get 3 shipments a year. Since then we've visited their warehouse on Tank Farm in SLO for a pick up party. The food was great, pours were well organized, and we got to try a tasty library wine. I've also visited the tasting room again with friends, and had wine shipped out of state which was a seamless transaction. Looking forward to future shipments of delicious wine! read more

Came upon this winery on accident in Arroyo Grande, but glad that we stopped by! Beautiful, spacious winery that had some great Syrahs (my favorite). Most wineries in this area are known for their Pinots and Chardonnays. Stacy served us and she was friendly and amazing. We are from out of town, and we asked her for some restaurant recommendations. She gave us some great ones in Morro Bay! Although we didn't buy any bottles, I would definitely recommend this winery if you're in the area! read more

every one of Sinor laVallee's wines are absolutely incredible, and extremely delicious. The aromas are concentrated, opulent, and unforgettable as they unfurl and leap from the glass; the flavors are focused and precise, and the multitude of tasting notes are distinct and remarkable. The oak program offers a lush and complex backdrop that stays balanced perfectly in support of the fruit, rather than in competition with it. The tannin structure in the reds is apparent and well refined at 2-3 years past vintage, but isn't at all overwhelming or traipsing on the juicy deliciousness of the fruit. I can't speak to the age-worthiness of these wines, but I suspect they would mature much longer than any normal aficionado would have the patience to cellar them for. Harvest time is spot on according to the wine style being represented, with the fruit character of the reds sitting right in that elusive sweet spot between "blue" and "purple," just a breath away from jammy, while maintaining an almost miraculous acidity. The whites are juicy, aromatic, and possess incredible mouthfeel, and an expert balance of oak and malolactic creaminess (where it applies--no oak or butter bombs here), while the reds have ample structure to balance a nice flavorful meal, while being soft and elegant enough to enjoy without food. Seriously, I can't stop thinking about these wines, and I'm amazed they aren't much more well known in the wine community. I never rave about wines, and I never thought I would until trying these. They remind me why I went into this industry to begin with. I should also mention that they do some interesting stuff with harvest times for varietals such as Syrah and Pinot... they'll do a standard harvest and a dry-style late harvest from the same vineyard and vintage. I've never had a Pinot up near 17 percent abv before, and it was executed much better than the tech sheet would lead you to believe. Somehow the staggering booze content hides effortlessly beneath distinct layers of focused, concentrated complexity... a very dangerous for a weeknight! Seriously, 10/10 all around. Don't pass through Avila without stopping in and taking some bottles home to share with any and all oenophiles you may know. read more

Some fantastic wine at Sinor-LaValle! We went in Saturday around 5:30pm and Aliza was pouring and she was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the wines. We only had the red wines but they also have delicious Chardonnay and Mike does some delicious Sparkling wine. The tasting room is open 7 days a week from 12-6, and they now have outdoor seating, and are serving some food. They have oysters in the half shell that are delicious! If you're in, or close to, Avila Beach, it's a great place to try. read more

I don't place many reviews, but the wine tasting here was just an absolutely delightful experience. Our party of 3 were the only people there at the time, so we got a great one-on-one discussion about all the wines by Aly, who was really wonderful. She was incredibly friendly and knowledgable and never rushed us while we slowly tasted through the wine menu. The wine itself was fantastic, even their Chardonnay (which is usually not a favorite of mine). I otherwise really enjoyed comparing their Pinot labels with one another, but the Syrah was hands-down my favorite - just perfect! I had to take home multiple bottles for my wife to try as well.
