Would definitely come here to do work as it's quiet and relaxing. The drinks I've had were all great!

I really wanted to like this place. There was a good selection on the Saturday morning that we…read morestopped in and I thought that they would have a homebred taste and smell. I have to say I was disappointed. We got a set of sticky buns with walnuts and a small cherry custard pie. I am sad to report that though they were very fresh, they were both pretty tasteless. The ingredients read and tasted very much like a commercial bakery which I guess they are but thought otherwise.

I have never physically been here before, but my dad brings me the coconut walnut cake every time…read morehe is out-of-town anywhere remotely close to here. I am a very good baker and I can make some killer cakes, so let me tell you this place makes the absolute best coconut cake I have had in my entire life! I mean, I can't even imagine a way for it to be improved. It is a coconut walnut cake. The regular coconut cake is good, too, and very very fresh-tasting and has a much clean taste that you don't even find with homemade, but the coconut walnut cake is outrageously wonderful! It's not just a plain yellow cake like their regular coconut cake. the batter is different and, as good as I typically am at tasting and guessing ingredients, I have NO idea what the difference is with the coconut walnut cake batter, but it is divine! Let me mention another key point--I hate frosting. Even on the best cakes, I scrape it off. I do make an exception for my mom's homemade frosting, but I'm just not a frosting person, even when it's from the finest high-end bakery out there. However, let me tell you, this is the perfect frosting! It is light, smooth, incredibly fresh, and creamy without being heavy. I actually love this frosting and I actually enjoy eating it. This place has got a wonderful thing going and I hope they're around for generations and generations. Talk about some food that makes your heart smile :). If you are anywhere near this place and can make time to swing by, do it and you will absolutely fall in love!! The only thing you have to lose is your diet :P. Guess you better run a couple extra miles before-hand, lol. NOTE: The place my dad tried their products was at the Amish market in Lowell, Maryland, which is open Thurs-Sat with very limited hours (closed by 3pm on one of those days, but it varies).

Gotta say, I've had wildly mixed experiences with BoB over the years. From snotty counter help to…read morecakes not designed as discussed. This last experience, well, it takes the cake. I was gifted a birthday cake and the first piece ticked a lot of positive boxes, but left something in my mouth. Literally. It was almost the consistency of shredded coconut and I dismissed it as such because I didn't order the cake so wasn't sure what the person who had ordered it had asked for. The second piece, same thing - only this time I noticed I couldn't really bite through whatever the mystery shavings were. I've been baking for over 40 years and as I considered what "whatever" it was could've been, it wasn't the right consistency for coconut. I managed to pull a bit of it off my tongue and the only thing I could liken it to in my years of baking was when I accidentally shredded part of a rubber spatula and it ended up in the cake. I was able to track it down to the frosting. Specifically the blue. I scraped all the blue frosting off and tried a small piece and no more mystery matter. I plopped all the blue frosting that was left, which was mostly a set of frosting balloons, in the sink drain. I first ran hot water over it and this was what was left. The attached image shows what is left - after having used the sink for FOUR DAYS. It still hasn't broken down. If it were butter and powdered sugar it would've been gone long ago. I don't know what that was/is, but I don't see myself eating another one of their cakes anytime soon.

Maybe I'm out of step with costs these days, but $63 for a 1/4 sheet cake seems to be a bit excessive ! The person we ordered from wasn't exactly a bundle of joy either ! We will certainly evaluate whether or not we will purchase here again
