What a cute place in an old historic building. Just know that you won't get sodas here (husband was annoyed). But several of our party did get burgers and the fries were nice and sweet. I got a sandwich that was yummy. All of our food was fresh and came out promptly. Pricing was a little higher but you get what you pay for. Fresh food made to order exactly as we asked and a lovely venue. They have picnic tables outside too. We'll be back next time we head to Hopewell Lake. The coffee shop is also very cosy, but you might happen to be sitting in the back where two ladies are loudly discussing a "traumatic" work situation for half an hour without considering anyone else around them. I had high expectations for this place based on how cutesy it was. I ordered avocado toast with over easy eggs and duck fat potatoes. The bread was seemingly toasted but cold and so incredibly thick. My wife and 2yr old son were in the area looking at sheds and stopped in on a recommendation from one of the employees at Shed's Unlimited. The Coffee House occupies an older building on the corner of Twin Valley Road & RT 23. They have a parking lot in the rear with plenty of spaces. As you walk in you pass their outdoor seating area that has several picnic tables and plenty of room to relax. The interior of the building has a modern warm feel to it. All orders are placed at the front counter and if you order any food they will bring it out to your table. One thing we noticed right away was that the A/C could not keep up. Having said that it was over 90 outside. We placed our order: Pork Belly Eggs Benedict, Duck Fat Potatoes, Avocado Toast & Kids French Toast After placing our order we grabbed a table in the front room. There is another seating area towards the front of the building as well. After a short wait our food arrived. I was immediately impressed with the presentation of each dish. I really enjoyed the Eggs Benedict and Duck Fat fries. My wife said her Avocado Toast was really good as well. Overall I was very impressed with the food and didn't expect this level of culinary mastery in Morgantown. The prices do reflect the quality so if you are looking for a cheap breakfast this restaurant isn't for you. I think our total was around $47. I was totally fine with the prices as I knew the price level before we stopped in. read more

Stopped here for an afternoon coffee a few weeks back. While there were plenty of folks behind the counter and only an adult with two tweens ahead of me with the inability to make a decision, you would think that there would be a way to get a cup of brewed coffee in under 10 minutes. The coffee was ok, the price high, and the service lacking. The menu which had plenty of time to peruse while waiting looked interesting. This has got to be one of the best coffee places I've ever been to! Everything is so fresh and homemade and they have a wide variety of freshly made breakfast and lunch items, much more of a selection than a typical coffee shop. Stopped here for lunch with the family. We brought our young kids. We wanted to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. They had picnic benches and patio chairs. We wanted to sit at the benches but they're were right in the sun and the kids couldn't handle it. We did sit at the small table and chairs, but because they were not stable, the kids fell out of the chairs and lost some food. We recommend sitting inside with kids. We ordered kid's pancakes, blt, and grilled cheese. The kids pancakes were out of this world good. My kids gobbled them up so quickly. We also tried their peach coffee, but it did not have a peach taste. We definitely return without the kids to try out their other menu items. This was a great spot! I really enjoyed my breakfast. It's a pretty trendy spot for this area. They make their syrups from scratch. I totally enjoyed my avocado toast with my over easy eggs! Yumm! I love how they added and displayed the salt and peppers on the side of the plate. The pork belly Benedict is super tasty! I've enjoyed watching Morgantown Coffee House evolve and expand over the years. Discovered it a long time ago when it was little more than a coffee counter that also made some notably high quality food. From pancakes to granola fruit yogurt parfaits it was always reliably good and fairly priced. Not to say there wasn't the occasional hiccup, but overall a 5-star experience. Fast forward through the pandemic, and I've noticed that while prices have risen dramatically, there is always some sort of disappointment on each visit. Firstly, the staff working the counter are often painfully slow in taking orders. And it's not because they are overly chatty or something, there is just something that often makes that whole process move at sloth-like pace. A few months ago I was 4th in line and it took 23 minutes to just place my order. .. But, being the loyalist I am, I recommended to the others in my party that we stop off for a quick breakfast snack on our way to Philadelphia. Told them I thought they'd love it. We each ordered breakfast sandwiches and coffee drinks. One of the three sandwiches did not have the bacon we ordered and paid extra for. We flagged down a server and she did confirm it was in the order but was just missed. To top it off, the two sandwiches on sourdough had barely any filling. The thinnest edges of the egg only spread out to cover about half the bread. The egg, cheese, and sausage could have neatly fit on one of the pieces in f sourdough cut in half! All around, everyone was disappointed and I, quite honestly, was embarrassed. Not to be daunted, though, and tempted by the French toast I saw on that last visit, I decided to return this week for a big breakfast. Ordered the brioche french toast, a side of sausage patties, a chai latte, and the duck fat potatoes. Before ordering the potatoes I asked if they were crispy. They said they absolutely could make them crispy if that's what I liked, so I went ahead and added them to the order. With tip, it came to $39. The 2 slices of french toast were very good. The sausage and chai latte were about average. The duck fat potatoes were very soft, and about as far from crispy as you could get. So, for $39 I ordered at a counter, bussed my own dishes and cleared my table, got 2 slices of french toast, a 16 oz latte, and some very disappointing hash browns that were not prepared as ordered. I thought about taking the potatoes back, but just thought why should I have to even do that when I just paid almost $40 for a breakfast that could have easily fit in one plate, instead of the three on which it was served, and would have been about the same experience at a diner for 1/3 the price?!! I don't mind paying for quality food/experience, but it has to be quality. And Morgantown Coffee House is now trending down on both measures. I'd come again and just get french toast and regular coffee, but it's not a place on which I will venture with confidence into other menu items... read more

This cafe is a gem! We went for a drive out into the country and happened upon it. The coffee is perfect. I had a spicy bahn mi with roast pork and delicious chicken pate.
