Filthy Mack's is a cool little neighborhood bar with a laid-back vibe and great service. The staff was friendly, attentive without hovering, and made it easy to settle in. What really stood out for me was the non-alcoholic selection. It wasn't an afterthought. There were legit NA options beyond the usual one token choice, which made it easy to hang out and still feel included. The decor is part of the fun. It leans fully into the kitschy, slightly ridiculous bar aesthetic in a way that feels intentional and self-aware. Went by based yelp reviews. I'm visiting from out of town. Place was interesting and had a few people inside on a Monday afternoon. A few guys playing pool and a few at the bar. Was warmly welcomed by the bartender who helped me with a beer and told me if I wanted food outside at the food trucks. Beer was great...food was very good! Regular burger was outstanding. Those of us who've been boozing for awhile usually have a certain idealized version in our heads of what a dive bar is. That means we can be picky about them. (Which seems kind of counterintuitive - picky about a dive bar, yes? But it happens.) We were in Reno for St. Patrick's Day, visiting from Orange County CA, and Filthy McNasty's was on our list to visit, along with some other bars. All of them turned out to be pretty good; McNasty's, however, is the only one getting a written review from me. And that's because it was, in this drinker's estimation, the best. The owner was awesome. The staff was friendly and fun. The denizens were charismatic and approachable. The character of the place was spot-on; rough edges and sweetness in perfect balance. You can probably tell I'd be able to ramble on further, but that would take up precious cocktail time. Get over there for a beer already. read more

Beers on tap are Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Coors Light (yuck), Lagunitas IPA, Blue Moon, Leines Summer Shandy, Newcastle Brown Ale, Harp Lager and Guinness. I went to this place and let me tell you, just awful. I ordered an apple-tini with an extra umbrella and they didn't even offer me an orange slice. My wife ordered a midori and peach schnapps and they served it in a pint glass. What are we? Cretins? This place is a local spot, after seeing the sign I had to go in for a beer. Why not right? Lots of beers to choose from and cold.
