Final Approach is a good waiting spot but still a bit of a distance from DIA passenger pickup. On a Wednesday evening, the cell phone lot was packed, so they could use a little expansion to make room for more vehicles. I just returned home this morning from another vacation. Great to stop here again. Dunkin Donuts had a lot of fresh donuts out on display. Auntie Anne's was up and running. Tia's finally had a staff member behind the counter. They're usually closed during past visits at Final Approach. I ordered a breakfast burrito from Tia's and dined in. Schlotzsky's was also open. Cleanliness today was average. Every time I come here, it's not that crowded. One of the many reasons I like visiting. Again, a great way to decompress after a nice vacation before getting back in the swing of things with work. Colorado is a great place to call home and Final Approach helps with this reminder. That is, if your mind is focused and things are put in perspective. Parking was also lovely today. Not that many cars were in the parking lot. Consistency is key here. I believe Final Approach offers it and hence why I keep returning. Looking forward to my next visit(s) in August! read more

This is the place to come to wait! I have used this location several times when I needed to pick up my travelers from the Denver Airport. The parking lot for the Final Approach is the Cell Phone Waiting Lot. It's about three miles from the airport. It's much nicer than LAX, the Los Angeles Airport's lot!! LAX is simply a parking lot with a Port-a-Potty or two. I haven't used that lot in years, so I don't know for sure if they've made it better or not. At Final Approach, you have a spacious, air conditioned building you can enter! Inside, there are a few restaurants, places to eat & chill, and restrooms. Free Wi-Fi is a big plus, too! There are eight flight information display boards, so you can keep an eye on all the flights statuses. The food choices here are: Dunkin' Donuts, Schlotzsky's, Tia's Authentic New Mexican Eats, and Auntie Anne's Pretzels. There's a Wendy's next door at the Gas Station. I have only had coffee from Tia's. I have not gotten food from any of the other vendors. To get back to the airport, go to E 78th Ave, which is behind this building. Go east to Jackson Gap St., turn right to travel south along Jackson Gap Rd. to the eastbound ramp onto Peña Blvd. Follow the signs along Peña Blvd. to access Terminal East or Terminal West. Stopped here "Final Approach" in the cell phone lot to wait for our family to arrive. Went in to use the restrooms at 7:00pm. They said they were closed for cleaning, and not very nice I may add. So we went back to our car and at 8:50pm went back in before we went into the airport and....yea "restrooms still closed for cleaning and we are also closing the building". Very rude! We will never patronize this location ever again. We went over to the gas station, called Rocket and they were so darn. They also have a Wendy's and they were great too. Our advice.... So, we try to be patient and respectful but staff at both Schlotsky's and Auntie Annie's are really sad. Auntie Annie's- I ordered and was told 7 minutes. I paid (without asking she put my change in the tip cup) and went back after 7 minutes. I ask if they are ready and she says 6-8 minutes. I reminded her it was already 7 minutes and she said she hadn't put them in oven yet as she had another order to get ready. I asked her did it come after mine and she said yes. No eye contact possible with either employee. At schotsky's my husband ordered a # combo 6. Only sandwiches come with a #. He was given a sandwich. I didn't know this place existed. I was referred by the airport website for simply a "Cell Phone Lot." Sounds good. Let me park here and wait for my boss to arrive. I looked around at this spacious parking lot under a crystal clear sky. I noticed there were a lot of older people. Ok, age is just a number, but elders know what the best is. That was why I felt at ease immediately. There's a gas station, which offers prices very comparable with most stations in town. So, no need to hunt for bargains before returning the rental car. Then, there were lots of eateries to choose from. I like the clean bathroom, children's area and free WiFi. Best of all, I was only 7 minutes away from the airport arrival area. When it's timed right, there would be no waiting from the moment he walked outside to getting on my car. Well, not quite. I have been at other cell phone waiting lots at other airports and this is the first one I have ever seen with a food court and restrooms for people to use. Other airports should definitely consider something like this! Especially larger hubs where people may be waiting a very long time! Great idea DIA! The only issue is the food choices are a little "blah". They have a Schlotzky's, Auntie Anne's pretzels, Tia's and Dunkin Donuts. I think there is also a Wendy's connected to the gas station next to the final approach building as well. Not great in the way of choices but could be worse. Don't trust their posted hours! This place is Great in concept, a nice inviting place in which to wait for flights... but, that is not how it played out. I checked the hours ahead of time, which very clearly show "open until 10pm". Went in, got comfortable, started working on my computer. 15 mins later, the on duty supervisor "naraylia" (sp?) kicked everyone out at 8-with only 2 minutes warning, stating they were closing and turned the lights out as we were all still packing out things. That was it-she just kept telling everyone to "leave the building wr're closed", when it was questioned as to why they were closing when it very clearly stated they would be open until 10. read more

This is the business in the Cell Phone Parking Lot for DIA. There is plenty of parking, especially if you go near the building. There are restrooms and even a DIA departure and arrival board. There are 4 places to buy food. Aunties for pretzels, TIA's for Mexican food, Dunkin Donuts and one other. The parking lot was crazy, but the food court wasn't too bad. There is plenty of seating to wait or eat. There is also a Phillips 66 gas station right next door. read more

Plenty of seating inside for about 150 people and IKEAish outdoor seating. Clean restrooms, plenty of parking, lots of windows, fresh and bright. Nice job DIA! I love this location it's right next to my job and I sincerely enjoy how it's convenient and full of good choices to eat and dine. The gas station is literally right next to this place. The only official problem is the Subway always has some sort of issue. They also forget usually something important in my order like my side of extra bacon. I'm upset because it costs extra money for that. Other than that the restroom are clean and efficient. But I consider the building itself large, so if one eatery isn't satisfying, then there's always Dunkin Doughnuts, or pizza too. read more

I don't know why this place has four stars. I get it that the gas station is the last best place to fill up before returning your rental car. But the food court is just a measly four restaurant complex with only gross fast food options. And that's four only if you include the pretzel place. Food Court concept that is so ridiculously overpriced - it's ridiculous. Photos from 3 years ago show there was Subway, Z pizza etc - not any more. Food vendors have changed and all of them are a rip off. Airport prices for a non-interior airport location. $6.89 for a pretzel before tax? If you think you'll be saving a few bucks by eating here before a DIA flight -think again. You'll get a much better selection and better quality food inside the airport. I'm sure Adams County is taxing these "food court" vendors beyond their means of being able to stay open. Steer clear of Final Approach. This is the WORST model of a cell phone lot I have ever been in. First of all, it is on the wrong side of the highway for going into the airport. Stopping here to wait means getting off the highway and driving a half mile to sit in a parking lot. THE PARKING LOT is a poorly designed mash up of a food court and a gas station. One way roads are not clearly marked, and in the snow it is nearly impossible to navigate. THE "FOOD COURT" is a small building with approximately 6 restaurants at any given time, and a seating area with monitors of flight information. It is not clean, and I promise you would rather wait on your car and monitor the flights from your cell phone. Hours for this building only go until 10 pm, so if you need the promised bathroom, you are out of luck. The night we were there, employees were standing at the door telling people they couldn't come in, and flipping them off when people were unhappy. The ROUTE TO THE AIRPORT from here is backroads, and takes you past all the car rental places, so you have to deal with multiple busses that go to and from the airport as well as drivers who are unfamiliar with the area. If I knew who designed this whole area I would nominate them for worst, most inconvenient traveler help in a first world country. read more

I was so surprised that this was such a great spot to wait for late arrivals or when you end up at the airport too early. It was also wonderful when my daughter got bumped from a stand by flight while she was going through Denver and we got to hang out there together for a few hours, have some great pizza and dessert. They have free wifi and a cute area for kids with and ipad game area as well as several outdoor tables to drink up some of the Denver blue Skies and sunshine. So much nicer than waiting with your car running on the side of the road like we all used to do. read more

Many hours I've spent in the cell phone waiting area with its row of well worn portalets that were never inviting on a winters eve. This place is a such an inviting oasis that has all the amenities you might need. There's even an official DIA arrivals & departures board so you can monitor the flight you're waiting for. read more

First, we arrive at about 9:30 pm to find Schlotzsky's closed. Then Tia's limits their menu. When I approached Auntie Anne's, I had to get the attention of the employee in the back room, through the door window! She was short with me, as if she was bothered by our presence. I had to ask for my receipt. And then she walks with attitude back to the register to print it out. Nothing kind was said. We sat down to eat, and then about 10-15 minutes prior to the closing of the food court at 10:00 pm, people were not permitted to use the restroom. About 5-10 minutes before 10 pm, people were being escorted out the building! Several people were still eating, including myself. There was a lack of interest in serving the public as early as 9:30 pm. The people employed there do not want to work. I am infuriated that not only was I being kicked out before I was done eating, I was not even allowed to wash my hands before being kicked out of the facility! I even asked if I could wash my hands! They directed me to the gas station across the street. I had to leave the restaurant with greasy hands! Seriously!?! Then I was so angry that they were being so inhospitable, that I asked for the manager's name upon exiting. She ignored me and proceeded to shut the door in my face. I regret responding in a vulgar way. That is not like me. But I have never had anyone in the service industry shut the door in my face!! When a restaurant closes at 10:00 pm, you would think that the service extends to patrons until at least they are done eating! Oh, and the manager was not wearing her name tag! Please, please... if anyone has any managerial control over the facility, please do something to change the service!! Honestly, many of the people need to be fired, including the site/shift manager!! I would give her name, but she wouldn't say it, and she wasn't wearing a tag! All I can say is that she was in her 20's, or maybe early 30's. She was Hispanic, with dark hair and about 5'5". If you are her manager, you need to fire her! I feel absolutely terrible! I was so mistreated at this facility that I left angry and crying. And all I wanted to do was finish the last 1/8 of my burrito and wash my hands! All this could have been avoided with a little kind service on their part. You just need to care about people enough to treat them hospitably. But they were quite the opposite. And it hurt so badly. read more
