I found Final Cut Hair Studio on Yelp and decided to try them out after reading all the positive reviews and seeing great pictures of work that's been done on other clients. I decided to go with Fernando, because his schedule was more open and I liked the cuts that I saw online. I scheduled an appointment with him online booking, which was super easy and quick. I booked my appointment for a Friday morning and found the place rather quickly. For those of you not familiar with the area, it's on Charleston and Ft Apache inside Sola Salon boutique inside the Barnes & Noble shopping center. Fernando is super friendly and will do exactly what you want. He ended up fixing my hair from a previous super-bad haircut that went haywire. He cut my hair exactly how I wanted him to after showing him a photo. He did a fabulous job with what remained of my hair from the last hairdresser. I gotta say that Fernando is a hair-magician! He knows how to work your hair will his amazing cutting and blow drying techniques. He spends a good amount of time getting everything super straight and clean and making sure you leave there with what you wanted. I'm so relieved to have finally found my permanent hairdresser, wished I would've come across Fernando much earlier! Very friendly in person! Yet I was dissatisfied with my hair cut. I have very long, straight, hair that I have been growing out (as a cultural tradition) that lays past my hip crease. He assured that he knew how to cut long hair but the layers came out uneven with the top layer being thicker than the bottom, poor transition in between, and too much of a gap between layers. I didn't want to go back to get it corrected with fears that it may get worse or he would cut more of my hair off. I was reluctant in posting this because he's so friendly. Fernando did an amazing job - extremely last minute on my part as well. My hair is naturally very light, almost white, and he listened/delivered on my desires to obtain dimension, contrast and "Pumpkin Spice". I'm not picky about my hair, but I'm in-tune with its' needs/wants. As light as my hair is, it hates color. (Every color I've received prior has washed out at the station). I'm not one to go to the salon in a regular basis. It's been about 8-10 years since I cut my hair. I figured since I'm visiting in Vegas It was time I made a change. I was very anxious but made the appointment anyways. I'm Kenia was very nice and was able to give me same day accommodations. I told her I wanted a trim and a color. When I got there I was a little lost but soon found the suite. I told Kenia I wanted my hair color the same as my toes (just had a mani/pedi). She was able to deliver and then some. I'm not usually a talker but she made me feel very comfortable and was very engaging. I'm so happy with the little personal touches she added to my hair, in both cut and color. I will definitely make the 5 hour trip in about 8 weeks or so, for a touch up and awesome service. read more

What I liked about Fernando is that he was truly engaged with me through the whole process of figuring out what hairstyle suits me. Kenia is amazingly talented! I am going gray, so I just needed a haircut w/o color, but I've been frustrated in my efforts to find someone who can expertly cut hair so that I don't have a lot of upkeep. Kenia understood my needs immediately. She saw that my previous cut was out of balance, as it had not been cut correctly to begin with. I knew it was a GREAT cut immediately, but I wanted to wait a couple of weeks before reviewing because that is the test of a truly great haircut - one that will last and one that falls into place after each washing. I absolutely love Fernando. Would recommend him to anyone. I have a short and super flat hair. Been with short haircut for over 15 Years now. It looks good but you can do many changes so I wanted to try and let it grow a bit longer. No volume is a huge issue for me so I would end up with time-consuming constant styling with lots of product and damaged hair as a result. So I started thinking of perm curls but was afraid to damage it even more. This place was the only one that even mentioned perm and what product they use. I went and I'm super happy I did! So happy I found this place!! I've been needing to get my hair done, but have a hard time finding a place that's open on Sunday. I messaged Fernando in hopes that he would have an opening after reading all the Yelp reviews. Fernando replied back and was able to get me in today. From the minute I walked in, I felt so comfortable. I showed Fernando what I wanted and he was very honest in what would need to be done and what the results would be. The entire time I was there was full of conversation!! It was such a great experience! My hair turned out better than I expected and it feels amazing!!! I've been looking for a place to have my hair done since moving here in February. I will look no further! Each experience with Final Cut has been excellent. Fernando responded quickly to my request on Yelp and was really friendly and accommodating. Kenia took the time to listen to my concerns, talk through ideas and pictures, and make a decision on the hair cut and color. She was honest and encouraging and did exactly what she said she'd do. I find this rare. Throughout the appointment she was really easy to talk with and I walked away very happy! It's been a week and I'm still loving the cut and color (we went red). My husband loves my hair too - which is a great bonus. I've already referred a colleague to Kenia and plan to let others know about her. Do not hesitate to see Kenia. read more

Great experience from start to finish. I hate talking on the phone to schedule appointments, so I really appreciated the ease of being able to book the appointment online. The salon was easy to find with the directions I received in the email, and I was greeted right away when I arrived. Kenia put me at ease about my hair concerns (pregnancy hormones have done strange things to my hair) and got started. This salon visit was just what this pregnant lady needed! Since i found this place on Yelp, i feel responsible to add my review to help others who may be looking fur a hair stylist. I received the worst hair cut off my life here. I don't understand what happened. The first time Fernando cut my hair, it was fine. The second time, awful. Why, i don't know because he had taken a picture after the first time. My hair is very short to start with, so there is really no room for error. The cut was bizarre, uneven, and did not blend. I had to wait a couple weeks to get another person to try to fix it. She even said it was the worst haircut she had ever seen. It will take another cut after a few more weeks of growth to fix it completely. I'm sorry Fernando but that was "the final cut." read more

I Just had a haircut with Fernando and I'm very disappointed. Told him to cut a quarter of inch but he cut 5 inches off my hair. Please, don't trust his words and I wouldn't go there anymore. First, he asked me how I like to have my hair so I told him that I just want to have hair trimmed which I mean don't cut the length but cleaned up. He almost argued with me that he doesn't trim but I had to cut even a quarter of inch, so I told him cut a quarter of inch. I thought it's very unusual to argue over trimming and treating a new customer rudely was very unpleasant but I went ahead got haircut regrettably. A quarter of inch turned to five inches, please do no trust him! read more

Look no further. Fernando is a true artist when it comes to hair and color. Many times in the past I have gone to studios, showed pictures of the style and color I wanted only to leave disappointed. No to mention unable to style my own hair with the cut they gave me. I showed Fernando the exact picture I always show and he perfected it. Most amazing experience! I came in with an idea, as I find the some stylists are not open to giving the style you need. KENIA started my cut with the pic I brought in and we adopted about half way through because she saw something in my hair that I didn't know! Color came next, I want a bold yet understated purple mix. She mix up some magic and the results were perfect. Slight color in regular light but WOW in the sunlight! From the moment I walked in, Fernando was so welcoming!! I've never gotten my hair professionally colored, so I had the intention to get highlights because I thought that was the best solution to cover up my grays in the most natural way. However, he suggested color melting, which I had never even heard of, and he blended the colors perfectly together to match my hair. I love the cut & style, and my hair feels sooo great and silky! I first met Fernando a couple months after I moved to Las Vegas and my girlfriend got a wonderful haircut from him and it looked amazing (thank you for that :D). The hardest thing to do when you move is to find the right barber/hair stylist. Especially someone that knows how to cut mens hair with scissors and clippers. Since I saw the amazing job he did for my girlfriend, I went ahead and asked if he did mens haircuts. Sure enough he did, and ever since that day I go to no one else and I finally found the perfect barber/hair stylist! I highly recommend him to any man who wants a real cut, he will not disappoint. When I pushed back afterward, the CEO responded personally, explained the timeline, and issued a full refund plus a credit. I'll give them that -- the response was better than most companies manage. But none of that changes what the morning of the wedding actually looked like, and none of it changes that their website promises coverage they cannot always deliver. If you're booking them for a wedding or any event you can't reschedule, ask directly what happens if your artist cancels same-day, in writing, before you pay a deposit. Don't assume the guarantee on their site means what it says. I want to correct the public record here. In response to my review, the owner stated that I "didn't respond" to their email, which is why she posted the CEO's full response publicly. That isn't accurate. I felt nervous about my hair even before I went in because her texts got increasingly dry and short the closer it got to my scheduled appointment. I wanted to cut my hair short by a few inches after having long hair for a while. I had to tell her that I want to see how my hair looks by cutting an inch at a time. I stopped asking her to cut it shorter because it was not looking any better. After she cut and blow dried it, my hair looked uneven and choppy. Usually hair stylists give you a mirror to see your hair from behind but not this time. I didn't know how it looked from the back until after the appointment. After she blow dried my hair, my ends were heavily swayed to the left. I grew more suspicious that she didn't care about my hair. I asked her to curl it hoping it would fix the uneven cut but my hair looked even shorter after curling. I thought it looked okay at the salon but after washing my hair and seeing it in its natural state from behind, it's actually more uneven and choppy than I thought. I felt horrible and still regret trusting her with my hair. As for color, I asked for a brown dimensional balayage and showed her pictures before the appointment and day of the appointment. She disregarded any of the pictures I showed her and left streaky random highlights from the 2000s around the base of my head that's not blended in with my hair. I had a bad feeling going in, and it only got worse. I feel embarrassed about my hair and my confidence plummeted. I want my long hair back.

Fernando was OUTSTANDING in every way. First off, I have just returned to Albuquerque so was shopping for someone to do my hair. After reading comments on Yelp, I made an appointment. Due to the rain I was a little late, and on top of that went to the wrong room number. So, after 20 minutes of waiting, I sent him a text, he let me know he was here and waiting for me, then he came out and found me, and still took me in. I shared that I hate "shopping" for a stylist, we talked about my hair, the odd natural waves it has, what I like and dislike about getting ready, and my personality. After listening and looking he gave me suggestions....and then he worked his magic. I love it! Never have I had someone that made it so fun to find a new stylist. After years and years of going through hair dressers, I finally found one I can trust! First off, the studio she is in is very personal. Kenia has one partner and she doesn't work on anyone else in between your appointment. I LOVE THAT. I have her full attention the whole time and I don't feel like I'm just a number. Now for the service, Kenia did such an amazing job with giving me incredibly vibrant color! She styled it so I could see the potential it had (I'm always putting my hair in messy buns), and it looked awesome. She also went over after care, which I love because alot of hair dressers I've been to didn't tell me how to take care of my colored hair before. Thank you so much, Kenia! Fernando accommodated me and my daughters on short notice. We where driving in from out of town, so it was important to have all pieces line up. He was quick with communication. The salon was modern and had facilities to change into your special event. Treated us with the utmost respect. He made my lil girls feel special and pampered. He has a wonderfully engaging attitude! He did a fantastic job in matching our ideas and creating awesome hairstyles for all of us. We received many compliments on our up-dos! My my only complaint is that I cant bring him with me to AZ! I am very pleased and happy that I traveled 2.5 hours to have my hair cut and styled by Fernando!! It I showed him a picture of a style and cut I wanted and he delivered with flying colors!! I can not show enough praise for Fernando. My previous stylist became complacent in cutting and styling my hair. Years of unsatisfied hair cuts, I can now honestly say I found my stylist. Fernando is wonderful. Very patient, knowledgeable, kind, respectful and absolutely loves and enjoys what he does. That shows in his work. Fernando is wonderful! I live out of town, but was in ABQ to get my car serviced. I had been needing a haircut/color, and on a whim, booked an appointment here. I was not disappointed. I don't think I've ever learned more or had better conversation at any previous hair appointments. Fernando paid close attention to my every desire, and followed it to a T. Kenia is the best stylist I've ever had in my life. My hair is the healthiest, longest and shiniest it's ever been. She gives great advice and really cares about the heath of your hair. I came in for the first time to this place for a full balayage and a hair cut , paid 390$ , sat for 6.5 hours , just to be unable to even wear my hair natural in public. I'm not going to say the stylists name because this is not personal , however hear are the problems : 1. I showed him 2 reference pics , i asked for a layered cut that's longer than the pic, with A LOT of thinning - received a short puffy hair cut with no layers, ZERO THINNING WAS DONE and so short and thick I can't even wear it in a pony or down without a constant blowout . Not to mention it looks nothing like the pic 2. There's a patch of bleach in the middle of my hair thick and visible for everyone to see , from the root down, simply embarrassing 3. The placement of the bleaching was manly made at spots don't really cover and refresh my old balayage that I had so when looking at the hair , u can see a ton of work done anywhere but over the old work that needed tuch up. Also the toner hasn't really stuck to all the bleaching but since I'm not a hair stylist I'll leave that as debatable. Valerie who presented herself as the salon manager has offered me a re toning And a bolder money piece to try and match one of the pics that I showed , However the real problems are not fixable by that solution that she offers , also since she tried to make me sound like I was the problem by saying " you told your stylist you didn't like the stylist you had before as well " which to I replied by yes , because she didn't cut enough which is also what her manager told her , However it's irrelevant because it didn't happened at atelier and she should have said something else . But I needed an appointment for an "updo" for a formal event and was booked with Jaime, for Jen was booked elsewhere. Fine by me, for I would trust anyone in Style & Grace. I see Jaime around the salon and she always radiates a bit of sunshine, professional expertise and badass female vibes every time I see her. This was my first appointment sitting in her chair and I kind of knew I was in the right hands. I absolutely did not want "mother of the bride, nor Holly Hobby teen" updo. I think I stated to Jaime the need for "I'm in mid 50's, skateboarding woman, needs formal hair that shows my edgy personality, yet stylishly on point and can last until I am out until 4am and possibly over served" updo style. All while in a formal gown. LOL! The kind of style that says you cared enough to have your hair professionally done, but also messy enough to let my personality show. She nailed it! Easy for Jaime to complete, but impossible for me to ever execute on my own. Thus always trust a professional, right? I went in early June to get my hair lightened and a layered cut from Lizzett. After washing my hair, I realized my hair was completely botched (to the point that another hair stylist asked if I cut and colored my own hair at home). The salon manager got me in for another haircut with a different stylist to fix the cut, but he had to cut off 6 inches to correct it. While I appreciate them comping the haircut, this doesn't change the fact that I paid $550 to hate my hair. I never even got an apology from the girl that ruined it in the first place. I gave two stars instead of one for the salon at least trying to remedy it. Unfortunately, you can't uncut hair and I know they won't be comping 2k worth of hair extensions, so I just have to wait for my hair to grow back.

Every time I've come in, I've left notes for the staff to give them a heads up that I have thick and curly hair and to please give whichever stylist a heads up. If, for whatever reason, my hair is too challenging to work on, I'd rather them call me to tell me and cancel my appointment instead of wasting my time. Today, was my final straw at this location. It seems like no matter what, the staff is always struggling to blowout my hair. You'd think between 3 different stylists my hair would turn out looking somewhat decent.... you'd be wrong. I knew as soon as they turned me around in that chair that I'd have to come home a fix my hair, which is exactly what I had to do. The 2 stylists were in a rush to leave to their other commitments, which I totally understand. I don't mind if a stylist has to hand me off to someone else, I really don't care if that happens 5 times during my appointment, I just want my hair to look nice. But, if everyone is in a rush and there's no one to take over for them then the quality of the blowout falls through the cracks. I'm not sure if it's due to them being short staffed, or a scheduling error, or no one wants to deal with my hair, I honestly don't know, but at this point it's just getting ridiculous. Below I'm attaching a picture of what my hair looked like coming home straight from the salon. I had to go back in with a flat iron over everything. For reference, I asked for my hair to be straight. That's it. No curling, not any crazy updo or style, just straight and flat ironed. Why am I paying $70+ for something I have to come home and fix? If I wanted a crappy blowout I would've stayed home and done it myself.
