Dr. Silvera has been my vet for over 30 years. I love him and his staff. When the last baby we lost, Belichick passed, I could not have asked for more compassion. The girls behind the desk cried and carried her out to the truck themselves. They sent a card of sympathy, Bellachick's paw print with her name engraved in a beautiful brown case we still have on our mantle. This place and the vet technicians are truly pet lovers. Our 7 month English Bulldog has been going to this Vet since she was 8 weeks old and everyone has fallen in love with her. The kindness shown is really impressive and LuLu feels like a celebrity when she goes in. Today, LuLu was spayed and the doctor and everyone around took care of her (we even got a photo of her up and recovering). My favorite part of this place are the ladies who work at the front desk; they truly do love pets and treat LuLu with so much love every time she goes in...they even ask to hold her. As I read the other reviews, I would be extremely saddened if something happened to my pet, but there are certain things that are out of our control. I can only go from how they treat my pet and the attention she gets when she goes there which is exceptional. The other thing that I really appreciated was when I asked about getting LuLu tagged with a chip. The ladies at the front desk could have easily said to do it then, but they advised that I wait until she get spayed so she didn't have to go through the pain of the needle. Again, the ladies at the front desk are beyond my favorite part of this animal hospital because they take their time explaining what is needed and you can honestly feel that they are animal lovers (so is the vet, but he is a bit quieter). read more

If it was a person this would be considered malpractice "MY CAT HAS TO LOSE HIS EYE BECAUSE OF THIS PRACTICE.... Brought in my 4 month old kitten because I was concerned, there was a grayish film starting to appear over his eye. I paid $160 for drops and they gave him shots he didn't need at the time. They said he had a "Corneal Scratch" and gave Corneal Repair drops and an E-Collar. I called about a week later to tell them his eye was regressing and that I was sure he had an infection or something else going on. I told them it seemed like a Corneal Ulcer. They said to finish his drops and come back and discuss it with the vet at his follow- up appointment. I told them this was not something that could wait, that the drops were not working something else was going on. They said I could come in but there would be another charge. I understand they need to get paid, but the fact I already paid so much money and you want to charge me when your the one who misdiagnosed really upsets me. I took him else where because I wasn't about to pay more money to get another misdiagnosis. I took him to a vet hospital in RI. They told me it was in fact a Corneal Ulcer and by that time it had already ruptured and was no saving to it. His eye now needs to be removed. At the hospital I was told had they caught it on time (which I brought him on time), he would of just needed drops and antibiotics and been fine. I am so upset I would never ever go to this place again for any pet. A pet is just as important as a person to me. I'm definitely going to look further into the malpractice they have caused. But I would stay away from this place if you care about your pets! My kitten will be ok and will learn how to function. We are lucky it's just his eye he is losing. In response to yours: -It wasnt a doctor that diagnosed at your facility it was a Technician that he was seen by. -Did not diagnos Corneal Ulcer she diagnosed Corneal Scratch totally different. I have your diagnosis in paper work and I have the hospitals diagnosis in paper work. I can attach those images as well soon to come. -She gave a distemper shot which was not crucial to his condition. She persisted that he needed it and did not give the option to have it given at a later time. Which in his case could of waited until next visit. - We paid $100 which what we were quoted for was for visit and any medications not for shots. And the 31$ was to be paid by follow up at his appointment for today. We have paid everytime we were seen there at your office. And why would we pay a discount fee for a recheck emergency when you never gave the right prescription the first time? We do pay our bills hence we took him to a hospital and paid 300$ for the correct diagnosis vs just going back to you and paying 60$ to get no where. And he was seen by a real vet. Onyx was not seen by you Carlos or any of your veterinary doctors. He was seen by a technician. We paid 300$ at a hospital to be seen by a veterinarian and get the correct care. -The hospital was in shock when we showed them what you prescribed. As corneal repair gel was not something she would of given for an ulcer but infact something that would be given for a scratch. She said had he have been given antibiotics his eye would of been saved since we went in the right amount of time before it regressed. -Attached is a copy of my call history and more calls were made from my job so we did in fact call about this multiple times. * Its very sad that you people are a bunch of cowards to turn it on what we did and lie just to make yourself look good. As you are saying you did diagnos correctly , you did not. We do owe 31$ and also paid 100$ to you 300$ for a hospital visit because of you and a 1000$ surgery to be done because of your neglect as a veterinarian. Maybe if you paid more attention to your patients and showed more consideration and devotion. I have been bringing my dogs to FRAH for years they have always been so kind and empathetic from the front desk Ana and Carla they are the frontline always with a beautiful smile greeting everyone and taking care of everyone's needs service is top notch. Dr. Silvera is amazing he's always been so patient with my dogs, one dog had to have his eye removed the care he was giving was amazing he lived until 15 years old, our poodle was not doing good one day my husband rushed him in and on the way he passed away he ran into the office they immediately took action and we're able to bring him back, unfortunately little guy ended up passing. Now we have a new puppy I brought him in and now was seen by Nikki can we say AMAZING!!! She was so patient and caring with a spunky puppy and the loving she gave him spoiled him this showed to me how well she is with our animals she's awesome and look forward to bring Max to her again. AWFUL customer service! This place doesn't treat your pet with compassion or even care to diagnose your pet accurately. My dachshund went in with urine in her blood and instead of xrays or blood work the doctor just ASSUMED it was a uti and sent me on my way with no instructions. What happened next?? Emergency visit to the ER a few days later and emergency surgery! Then even after the surgery and the records being faxed to them they never followed-up.
