Nick is amazing. Just amazing. I have gotten 5 different tattoos done by him, including 2 that took two visits. I give him an idea and he runs with it and always makes something amazing. He is funny and personable and will keep you talking, if need be. The rest of the fellas are also pretty rad. Got my Tragus Pierced there 4 months ago. I had to wait a long time in order to get it pierced. i sat in the front room for probably an hour. (-1 star) Once i finally got into the room it was great. i had Neff as a piercer and he really calmed me down . very professional good sence of humor. I loved this place! It was my first tattoo and I was a bit nervous, but the tattoo artist, Nick, was really kind and friendly. I told him that I was really nervous and he said not to worry. I told him how badly it would hurt and he said, "I'm not going to lie, it is going to hurt, but it's bearable. The anticipation is the worst." He sketched the art right on the spot and it was perfect, after he asked if I had any questions before getting the tattoo, and once I got it he told me all the after care. Before getting the tattoo, he asked where I wanted the tattoo to be placed and then proceeded to tell me if I liked it or not. Once it was placed, the process began. He told me that he's going to do a small line first so I know how it feels and then asked me if I was okay. He's not much of a talker, but every 30 seconds or so he'll stop to wipe away the excess ink and ask if I'm okay and if it hurts. He kept on telling me to keep breathing too. This is my second time coming here and it will not be my last. The first tattoo I got was from a guy who lives in SoCal and visits there once a month, I regrettably forgot his name since it has been a year. His work was amazing and he was delicate since it was my first tattoo. Today, I got an Aries wrist tattoo by Chad and I was simply amazed by how fast and flawless the tattoo turned out! He resized the original piece since it wouldn't fit on my wrist and made it look so much more better. As with the previous tattoo artist, Chad was very delicate and made sure I was comfortable. Before even starting, he wanted to be 100% sure I was happy with the placement and size. I highly recommend either him or Nick. Now for the parlor itself. The decorations are beautiful and the stations are personalized with interesting works of art and sweet knick-knacks. Got my first tattoo here (as a wee one of 18) done by Natasha. This was back when the place had been open maybe a few months. She did an amazing job making me as comfortable as possible and I was extremely satisfied with the work I received. Since then I have been back to stretch my ears, more than a few times, and bought numerous pairs of plugs (I always seem to loose one of the pair). The prices on plugs can be a little expensive, but they have the best selection in concord. I hate to give this place a bad review, but I have to in this situation. As a whole, this tattoo shop is wonderful and I have gotten a lot of my pieces done here. However my friend and I got matching tattoos by a guy that I had never seen there. His name was Matt Miller, and he was the most disengaged artists I have ever been tatted by. He not only managed to give us crooked lines, but he did not seem to care at all. When asking about placement of the tattoos, the man literally said I do not really care where you put it. Now the tattoo as a whole was pretty nice, but as an experience avoid him. He's the only artist there that I have a problem with. read more

First of all, I feel bad leaving a negative review but I feel it's extremely necessary due to the depth of the permanent and negative effects this has on someone who put their trust into a tattoo artist. This review is for a tattoo that was done by Chad. I went in for a small tattoo and a cover up for a tattoo which was bigger. I told Chad I had a bad tattoo that I wanted fixed but he tried to push his ideas on me as to what he thought would look great. I told him "no" and insisted that I wanted an American flag because that's my choice but he kept on pushing and tried to convince me that his ideas were more suitable, which was roses. I don't understand what a rose has to do with an American flag! After several attempts of him showing me what was easy for him to do, and me resisting, he tried to tell me, after over an hour and half of shuffling around ideas, that it would take too long to fix the flag now and that he only had time for the roses. I finally told him I didn't want any flowers, and that we would just go with the smaller tattoo, which was the sun. I sent him a picture, and told him I wanted it blue, and two round black dots by the sun that would represent distant planets. After confirming the piece with him, we finally got started. Once he started with the round planets, because he was in a hurry, he told me he'd just "draw" two circles. When I asked if he could just draw it on paper first because I wanted the planets to be complete circles, he told me to trust him because he had done work on me before and that he'd been doing this for years! I decided to trust him, which was my worst mistake. He started with the small circles and I wasn't completely happy with them being not completely round, and in the middle of doing this piece, he starts getting mad at me and started yelling at me! And mind you, that was all in front of another young guy that was shadowing him. He wasn't happy because I told him where I wanted the tattoo placement because he kept misplacing it! I finally used my left hand and drew where I wanted the placement and he finally understood. As a customer, I was shocked at the unprofessionalism. But I had to continue because he had already started, since I didn't know what else to do. I didn't want to walk out in anger and regret a half done tattoo. Now, I think I should definitely have left. Then, once I got him to calm down, he began to show frustration and got upset. I let it be, thinking he'd get over it, just to find out that that was my second mistake. He grabbed black ink and tattooed parts of the blue sun in black ink! I doubt he did it because I had told him that I had a bad tattoo experience before, but nonetheless, there's no excuse for wrong colors that go permanent on someone! When I protested, he was shocked that I had opened my mouth. I told him I didn't want the blue sun to be black, and his answer was, "that's how it always is. That part is always black." He then continued to try to convince me how the blue would fade away, and that it was only a simple sunburn away, so he had decided that black would be the perfect color for my skin tone! What?! I NEVER asked him for his opinion about which color would look better on me! And he kept on pushing me to get the tattoo in black! I have no idea why someone who had so much experience would treat their customer with so much disrespect and why he'd try to convince someone to get a tattoo they never wanted! To my surprise, the ink on half of the tattoo came off the next day. I had to go to a doctor because my tattoo looked weird and they said that the needle hadn't penetrated deep enough. That's when I realized, he had changed the length of the needle in the middle of the tattoo. The entire scene ran in front of my eyes, making me full of regret. As a customer, I'm sure that's not how one leaves a tattoo shop. I'd never go back to that place ever again. It's the worst experience I had. Anyone reading this should definitely think twice before going to this place. read more

I remember when final sin first opened and I came here often for jewelry swaps. After 6 years of being away, the place is as clean and comfortable as it was back then, with a few extra bones and jars with snakes or doll parts displayed, which is only adding to the charming cozy theme. Everybody there -over the years, has been super patient flexible and accommodating, as well as talented artistically. Chad just did my latest tattoo and captured exactly what I wanted transforming my charcoal drawing into a beautiful black cat with perfect black on black shading and bone/muscle definition. I went to final sin yesterday as a walk in just looking for information on getting the tattoo I wanted, I was not at all planning on getting my tattoo done yesterday. I have a few other tattoos from a few other shops and never ever wanted to go back to any of them, they were all horrible experiences so I read reviews and asked around about different places this time around. The tattoos I want are very very important to me, more so than any other tattoo I have. Anyways, I had planned on going to also check out one other shop yesterday before deciding, and even possibly keep looking this week into other shops. I went into the shop and met Chad. I explained to him the idea I had and the placement I needed. I went in thinking it was going to be a more difficult thing to do and Chad reassured me that it would be easy, and we talked a bit about the design. It was very comfortable talking to him and I felt like he understood exactly what I wanted and I decided to schedule an appt. with him later that day. My last tattoo was 7 years ago and I definitely handled pain a lot better before but he made getting that tattoo such an enjoyable experience even when I was in pain. The tattoo is perfect, even better than what I had visioned and I couldn't be more happy with the decision I made yesterday and I definitely found an artist that I will continue going to. read more

I just got my first tattoo courtesy of the fantastic artist Nick. The process was not only enjoyable, but thoroughly rewarding both spiritually and mentally. Nick and the entire staff at Final Sin are a great bunch of artists and make you feel welcome immediately. The attention to customer service and cogent, sound advice that they administer reflect a strong tradition of artistry and integrity. The consultation regarding my tattoo idea was excellent, and Nick was able to incorporate not only the themes I wanted but also add a stylistic flair that is second to none. I am EXTREMELY happy with the results! He was both communicative and supportive, and is obviously a very skilled artist. Overall, the experience was amazing and wonderful. The shop itself is easily accessible, clean, and with just enough flair and eccentricity to stimulate the senses and delight your creative mind with ideas. Also, they play a bitchin' soundtrack to get inked with. I had a great time. I went to Final Sin the other night to talk to an artist they have there named Nick or Nicky, as he introduced himself to me. I was turned off pretty much instantly by his overly cocky attitude and conceded demeanor. I showed him my piece that I was looking to get tattooed and was told that I was "sorely mistaken" about the size and placement of the tattoo. He wanted to brag about his artwork and 18 years of experience while making me feel that I knew nothing about tattoos or art (I have many tattoos and have been an artist all of my life) and repeated a few times that "skin is different from paper." Well, DUH! That is why I am coming to you for your artistic input and opinion on my piece. He went on to say that he would have to make the face of my detailed pinup piece larger than to scale and wanted to distort it because of the detail and potential of it running together over time. If you are a good tattoo artist you would never have to distort a piece of historical art to make it easier for you to tattoo. He wanted to thumb through his book with his shaky hands (red flag right there!) to show me some of his very simple pinup work that looked like a beginner tattoo artist could have done. The big clincher (aside from his awful energy that I can't imagine anyone would want put into their skin) was the bowling pinup girl that is in his book at the shop that looked like she had an extra chromosome! I ended up taking a referral from a friend to an amazing artist in Oakland and am overjoyed with the results. She looks perfect...just like the original piece. read more

I tagged along with my good friend to get her 2nd one done after she got her first one here. i am a serious fan of this shop, and you will be too. i've had all my piercings done at final sin by the owner, Chad and i must say, he's amazing. hes professional, knowledgeable, considerate and obviously passionate about his work. he makes sure that you understand what you are getting pierced and what type of upkeep it will entail. every step of the process is doctors office sterile and Chad has a very calming demeanor. you are sent home with a care sheet with simple to follow instructions and are encouraged to come back in if you ever have a question. and the tattoos! oh the tattoos! the artists are wonderful i have had tattoos done at other shops and most of them have been covered up by the wonderful artists at final sin. they are creative and fun to work with. some of the artists have a waiting list, but if you consider that you're going to have the work on your body for the rest of your life, it is totally worth it. everyone there is professional and has a wonderful artistic vision. things to know before booking an appointment: it is cash only. $125 per hour. don't be a douche and show up with empty pockets, plan ahead. know what you want before your get there, or at least have an idea. there is no "flash" art on the walls, so if you're looking to point out a pretty butterfly on the wall go somewhere else. be prepared for a possible wait. quality art takes time and sometimes the artists run a little over. but the reception area is comfortable and there is plenty to read and lots of photo albums of the artists work to admire. breathe. its just a tattoo. read more

I went to final sin about 5 years ago when natasha worked there, she did a cover up, she was good and creative, and put a feminine touch on what I wanted. So I went back last year with my boyfriend because we wanted a "couple's tattoo" I knew they were professional and clean and friendly. Well, not anymore. The guy that did our tattoo was rude and not friendly at all. Now I know a tattoo artist doesn't to be the worlds friendliest person, but when their work comes out kinda shitty there's no reason for an arrogant attitude. He did do what my boyfriend and I wanted, but he didn't do it that well. I'd not ever suggest going to this place. I got my first tattoo yesterday by Chad and I am completely impressed with the service I received. I booked my appointment a few weeks ahead of time (mostly because of my schedule/his schedule, etc.). I brought in a few pictures of what I had in mind and Chad was able to take those images and make a gorgeous cherry blossom branch that would go up my side and over onto my back. So Saturday rolled around and it was finally time for my appointment. I was extremely nervous, but once everything got started my worries went away. Chad did an amazing job on my tattoo- always made sure I was doing okay, let me have a couple of breaks to stretch/get water/pee... It wasn't as painful as I thought and I ended up having a really great time. After he was done, he went over how to care for the tattoo (and since it was my first one I appreciated the info) and told me to check back in in a few weeks to see how it looks and stuff. OK, I have to say I am a fan of Nick. He did my foot tattoo this past weekend and did a phenom job. Was very conversational and made me feel right at home and not like a weirdo when I started laughing at the pain. ("because what else are you going to do?") He was honest on how bad it was going to hurt and went with my time frame. The art is amazing and so is his shading and color. Very clean and a pleasant experience all around.
