Pretty annoyed and upset. Got a forward helix done almost 3 months ago. It's been a bit irritated recently and so I waited till it calm down before going in for a follow up to get the post exchange. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I went to Zebra to get it checked out and then was turned away because they said there was no room to downsize and to come back later[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. However, I would have benefited if they actually gave me a roomier post. 2 days later, my piercing was swallowed and it was pretty painful. Had to go to a different piercer for them to remove the piercing in general bc they couldn't saved it. It was oozing, flared up, etc. Zebra could have saved it for me seeing how it was too snug in person. Wasted all this money. Cost around $150. read more

Service and the overall experience were excellent! My daughter and I both got our noses pierced in late February, and everything was healing well at first. Unfortunately, my daughter's nose stud fell out twice, and I developed a piercing bump. While neither situation was ideal, I understand these things can happen. When the bump appeared, the piercer recommended a NoPull disc to help it heal and asked me to return in two weeks to have it removed. I followed the aftercare instructions, but unfortunately, the NoPull disc didn't work for me. In fact, it seemed to make the bump worse, which surprised both me and the piercer. We had expected to see some improvement after two weeks, but there wasn't any. Two weeks after having the NoPull disc removed, my daughter and I returned because her piercing had fallen out again. While we were there, I also asked if someone could take another look at my piercing and see whether changing the jewelry might help. That's when Tee stepped in, and she was absolutely amazing. She carefully assessed the piercing and recommended switching to a longer bar so it wouldn't sit directly against the bump. As soon as she changed it, I could immediately feel the difference. The piercing was much more comfortable, and it finally felt like it had the room it needed to heal. I truly appreciated Tee's exceptional customer service and expertise. Despite the few bumps along the way, everyone has been professional, kind, and genuinely committed to helping us. I can't recommend this place enough. Their professionalism, courtesy, and dedication to customer care have made every visit a positive experience. read more

The most important thing to know about this shop is that people have been coming here since the 80's, and bringing their children to get their lobes pierced here, specifically here. The history of Zebra is incredibly inspiring to me as someone who has recently entered the body modification industry and is learning how to manage a business with care myself. I am especially touched by the consideration towards families and children, as there is a play corner for small children in the waiting room. There is a pleasantly high staff to customer ratio, and it is evident that much consideration has been placed on all the different aspects of a body modification appointment. It's almost weird to me. I got my own first piercing (lobes) in Russia (where I grew up) by an uninformed nurse working in a cosmetic med spa, with a piercing gun. I performed my second lobe myself, with a sewing needle I ran through a lighter flame a couple times. To find myself at Zebra, such a beautiful, calm-yet-still-inspiring-and-burgeoning-with-life piercing studio, it would have been surreal, if it weren't such a grounding experience, too. I got two piercings during my visit: a navel piercing with a short bar, and a tragus piercing with a pretty nautical star stud I was reassured would not catch on my hair. Each piercing was $40, not including the price of the jewelry. My piercer, Tiara, had great bedside manner, communicating exactly what was to happen and at which point, as well as why. "I will mark your tragus first, then your navel, and we will pierce the navel first, as the markings might rub off in that area if we pierce it second." She guided me when to prepare for the moment of piercing with a deep breath, and also was very clear about potentially ambiguous moments, to prevent any sense of "piercing-surprise". I would describe my own experience of pain as 3/10 for the navel and 4/10 for the tragus, but mostly because the tragus was second, and I could not only feel the actual piercing of the cartilage, but also hear it, which wasn't something I had considered. I am also the kind of person to describe scarification as a 2/10 and sending an email as a 9/10, so take my pain ratings with a grain of salt. I can't wait to be back for my downsize follow-up :) Thank you all so much for creating such a lovely environment. What a wonderful experience for my 6 year old daughter and myself! We came in on Valentine's Day, because she had been so excited to get her ears pierced and chose this day to come. Mari was very informative about the different types of jewelry they carry, and what she recommend. She was extremely knowledgeable, and took the time to explain all of our options. They have a great variety of high quality jewelry, which was important to us since my daughter has very sensitive skin. I decided to get my nose pierced as well to make it a fun Valentine's Day experience, and so my daughter wouldn't feel alone. After checking in, we didn't wait long to choose our jewelry. The waiting area is adorable, with kid friendly entertainment and very cool decor they even have a cool red phone booth, which was such a fun touch! We waited about 30 minutes while my daughter had numbing cream applied (which takes about 30 minutes to work), and then we were called back for our piercings. That's when we met Cicada! Cicada is an absolute doll! She was so sweet, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. She made my daughter feel completely comfortable and not scared at all. Throughout the entire process, she kept checking in to make sure my daughter was okay. She made everything go smoothly, and it truly couldn't have been a better experience. They also do something really cute here for the kids, where after their ears are pierced they receive a certificate with their name on it. Our pediatrician actually recommended this place because it's where she took her own daughter, which immediately made me feel more comfortable. They really have the process down -- you line up, pick out your jewelry, fill out the forms, and then relax in their very IG-worthy lounge while you wait. I've been a customer of Zebra's since the very first location. So happy they came to Walnut Creek. Every time I visit, the experience is always pleasurable (and a bit painful,lol). Today I needed to have my piercings put back in after surgery. I lost my original bar so I needed a replacement as well. The wait was only about 15 minutes after completion of the transaction. I was helped today by a lovely artist, Tiara. She was very knowledgeable about piercings and helpful with my next piercing. She was very gentle with the replacement and made sure they were secure. The tattoo shop is very clean and beautiful decorated. There are several rooms to receive services. They have a wide variety of jewelry for purchase, as well as cleaning supplies for aftercare.
