We entered into the Appraisal process with our insurer in April of 2023. When Wayne was hired as our independent appraiser, most of the rebuild had already been completed. The required mitigation and reconstruction back to original specification condition was very complicated due to the structure originally serving as an office building before it was repurposed to luxury condominiums in 2020. Restoration work was well under way when Wayne was hired. Hiring an appraiser at this stage of the process is difficult for any appraiser. But Wayne spent countless hours onsite understanding the scope of the damage, mitigation and rebuild parameters. In addition, his knowledge of the appraisal process and required documentation was impressive. While maintaining complete independence, he guided us throughout the entire process. His effort resulted in an award that provided the association the needed money to restore and repair our homes to exactly the way they existed prior to the damage. Without Wayne's expertise and knowledge, we would have received less than 1/2 of the money from our insurer necessary to make the repairs. We are forever grateful for his hard work and no nonsense approach. Green Clean Restoration

When we discovered mold in our attic, we got 3 estimates to remove it…read more The first estimator came out, said we had a very bad mold problem. On a scale of 1 to 10, our attic was a 7. We were quoted a price of $17000.00!!! But we qualified for a discount down to $14000.00??? Were we ready to sign the contract? NO. The next estimator that came out wanted to treat just half the attic, he said that's all that was affected. I had to show him where the mold had spread everywhere. I told him I wanted an est for the entire attic, and to also have the insulation removed and replaced with roll out insulation. He emailed the estimate the next day. Approx $4000.00, and he said he couldn't remove or replace insulation, but that shouldn't matter, because the treatment will kill the mold in the insulation. NO THANKS. I called Green Clean, spoke to Steve, he came out the net day. The attic was given a thorough inspection. The following day I got an estimate of approx $7400.00 to treat the entire attic with a 10 year warrant, to remove all the old loose insulation and replace it with new roll out insulation. SOLD! The work was done the following week. We were able to stay in the house while it was being treated, because of the green products that were used. We could have saved some aggravation by calling Steve at Green Clean, in the first place.

However, at the time, this representative was not licensed in VA so he referred us to another adjuster. I do not know if Paid Fairly has a VA license now; but, if you decide to use Billie, I recommend you ask if Paid Fairly will be the team working on your claim. If you are referred to Shorter Settlements, DO NOT USE THEM. Kharee was very unhelpful and unresponsive. We did not get the damages we needed covered. He told us back in September that our claim was under appeal and we haven't heard from him since October. We've tried phone, text, and email and no response. We have been in touch with our insurance company and they have no record of an appeal. We are going to research to see if we can still recoup any of the cost but we will absolutely not be working with Shorter Settlements or Paid Fairly. To be fair, Paid Fairly has been responsive, they just aren't handling our claim. They did, however, refer us to Shorter.

I ended up having to re-clean everything myself. I was very disappointed with having spent $400, I definitely felt like I didn't get what I paid for. I will say that they were kind when I spoke with them on the phone, I haven't had a chance to call back regarding this issue (I had it cleaned in the beginning of April) and I know it's well past that time but Ive had a lot of things hitting me back to back so tried to let it go and I'm sorry, I just couldn't. It bugs me a lot. I'd definitely be happy if something could be worked out regarding this but I also completely understand if nothing can be done because it's been so long. If you are dealing with a large loss home insurance claim, I highly recommend hiring Finch & Barrel Public Adjusters. Our elderly neighbor crashed his car through the living room of our house. After a few days and hours on the phone with our insurance company, we knew we needed help. We worked with Brian from Finch & Barrel Public Adjusters. He came to our house, assessed the damage and started negotiations right away with our insurance company. He was able to help us get everything the insurance company owed us including temporary housing, dwelling damage repair, pet boarding, and replacements of items damaged in the crash. He was able to use his expertise to identify areas of our house that may be affected by the crash that we hadn't even thought about. We feel if we hadn't have hired him, the insurance company would have patched up the front of the house and never uncovered broken floor joists, an unattached chimney and more. Brian explained the processes of the claim to us and we were able to meet with and call him at times that worked for our family. He was able to get our claim negotiated and settled quickly. We had an energy audit completed with Zero Draft. They did a thorough inspection of our home to…read moreidentify energy savings and recommendations to improve heating/cooling efficiency. During the inspection they also provided water flow management devices for our showers, replaced bulbs with LED, and installed a smart surge protector in our media room. The report they provided gave us recommendations for insulation, tuneup, and other installations to help improve our HVAC efficiency. The quote included prices and rebates available. We easily selected the options we wanted and scheduled the work. It was a fraction of the cost if we had engaged contractors without going through the energy audit. They managed the rebate process and we only had to pay the remaining balance. We had blown-in and spray foam insulation done in our attic. Once this was complete, Zero Draft retested and showed that the install increased our efficiency by over 20%. I can actually feel and see the difference. It's noticeably warmer inside. Our roof used to have frost on half and not on the other half because so much heat was rising up. After they installed our insulation the entire roof stays frosty and more f the heat stays in our living spaces. They even got into spaces I never thought were accessible!

I'm a realtor and I deal with a lot of title companies and Lakeside is hardest one I've ever had to…read morework with. Most title companies try to find a way to accomplish their clients' needs. This one does the opposite and some of the management (not all) are down right mean as hell! As real estate agents, we sometimes put money into properties and get reimbursed at the closing table and can add our expenses to the ALTA. I've done this with over a dozen other title agencies. But Lakeside does not allow reimbursements from the ALTA and sends all the proceeds to the seller (or buyer) and asks them to divvy it up post closing. I get it..it's their prerogative on whether they should have to do extra work or not by adding things to the ALTA, but I just feel like they should make it known in advance. I will say that my processor was great. But please stop hiring mean people in management!

Frank was very nice over the phone and offered to see if he could have someone come in the next day to help us out. I was very thankful. We have a 1,500 square foot house. We asked to have them be sure to do the kitchen and our two bathrooms. We put a time limit on it of 6 hours and we were expecting to have most of the house cleaned as it was empty. They were unable to fully clean the kitchen and/or bathrooms in the 6 hours. If 3 hours were spent in the kitchen and let's say 1.5 hours in each bathroom then I expect them to be immaculate! This was not the case. The lazy Susans and the drawers were still dirty as well as the floor. The refrigerator and oven seem to have been cleaned but that looked like it. In the bath the tile was still dirty on the floor and my husband had to pull a huge amount of hair out of the tub drain. When we contacted Frank he said it all didn't get done because we put a time limit on them. I just don't understand what they spent 6 hours on? We definitely didn't feel like we received $330 worth of cleaning. I'll add pictures of the bathrooms and kitchen for size reference as well as pictures of what we found. (I'll spare readers the hair from the drain)

They were always one step ahead of me, Always one step ahead of everyone. Calls are returned within minutes and they take the time to explain everything and answer any questions you may have. In our last closing 4/26/22, Pinnacle Title stepped up to the plate when there was a problem with the closing. What is surprising is that, it was not even their fault but the fault of the listing agent!!! But Pinnacle Title did everything in their power to amicably settle the disputes at closing and settle the loan on the same day. Where will you find a title and settlement company that will do that? If you are not using Pinnacle Title for your settlement and title needs, you might be missing out. Give them a try, you have nothing to loose and everything to gain.
