Trying to overcome trauma, I spent way too long with a chris perry from perry prosthetics. trying…read moreto get a solution to an extreme problem. He is very slow and very non-attentive to your needs. When I asked about options to help solve a problem I was having, (my prosthetic leg continuously fell off while walking. In jeans or shorts) He avoided what ended up being the solution to my problem. Ultimately leading me to fall several times in public places, with huge embarrassment and having injury both physical and mental. My son witnessed several falls at concerts, shopping centers, sporting events etc... We don't attend public events anymore because of the effects that experience has had on my Son. I wanted a pin lock system prosthetic leg and he kept forcing a suction system prosthetic leg on me. I did not know there was a difference in performance. Or why I was falling. He kept me in the dark way too long never explaining what the difference was. In the two different systems. I now go to another prosthetic center and have been able to get work done there the same week I call and don't have to wait but about 5 minutes for adjustments to be made. Life is so much better without Chris Perry. I haven't fallen since my new leg pin system Also, he proudly hangs a painting of himself in his reception area of his business, He's standing in front of a motorcycle Wich is hanging behind his receptionist. That's a nice message to be sending to amputees who have just crashed on their motorcycles resulting in leg loss. Very insensitive. Go elsewhere if you can. This man will drag you down into tears with bureaucracy.

After a referral, my foot was measured and I returned a month later to receive the orthotic device…read more (One must initial their satisfaction with the device on their exit form, though you have no idea if you'll be satisfied, since you haven't even used it!). Yes, it fit my FOOT fine. However, after a month of ordering and returning various shoes, none fit with the device in it. At the time of prep, it should not have escaped notice at the initial visit, that my foot and ankle are swollen due to lymphedema that might impede any benefit to my foot. That should have been taken into consideration. It might have been wiser to advise me that the device WOULDN'T help. I trusted that it might. Emailing customer service repeatedly bounced: "the recipient's email system refused to accept a connection from your email system". In MY case anyway, this interaction/referral resulted in an outcome that was a complete waste of $250.

Four years ago yesterday I shattered my right ankle misstepping in my front yard while prepping for…read morea yard sale. Two plates and 9 pins later, the amazing ankle trauma team at OSUMC rebuilt the joint and sent me to Dave at Capital for a hinged ankle orthosis. The team here was great working with my insurance and fitting and fabricating my brace which I fondly refer to as "Rodney." The arthritis in my ankle joint has progressed to the the point where I was prescribed an Arizona ankle brace to completely limit movement of the joint. I went back for a fitting with Dave. He was a pleasure as always. In the end, I decided not to move forward with the Arizona as I will have ankle fusion surgery in August to solve the issue of pain I am having, but if a need for a brace exists in the future I know I'm in the best hands at Capital. Thanks to Dave & team for getting me this far on my once shattered ankle. If you have a choice in where you will be treated for orthotics, limb braces or prosthetics, you will enjoy your experience as well as get top notch care right here.
