I was able to wait around and it took all of 15-20min from check in to check out process. I really appreciate how efficient and friendly they were. And my ring came out looking brand new.

Amazing place. I…read morefirst contacted Mathew 2 years ago, around Christmas time. I had a vision of what the perfect ring for my partner would look like. I went to countless jewellery stores and was always told "the features are too complicated and it doesn't warrant the design." This all changed when I met Mathew. He was open and willing to take on the challenge of building the perfect ring. I described to him the meaning of the ring. I even went as far as trying to figure out how many twists the bands would have and the number of diamonds on the band, in order to be symbolic of our relationship. Mathew asked me why I had chosen a specific style and feature. So I described that the band was to be simple yet stunning, like my partner. The center stone was to represent her heart and I wanted it to be as big and clear as possible. Together we went through multiple design stages. For example, changing the diamond sizes on the twist in order to make it look nicer. When it came to choosing the center stone, Mathew knew exactly what I was after. He told me that it would take time, but he was willing to bring in diamonds to show me, until we found the perfect one. Never once did he pressure me into choosing a specific stone. He told me to be patient and that when the moment came, I would know I had found the perfect diamond. Well the day came. Mathew presented me with the final stone, and he was right, I knew it was the one for the ring. He agreed that it matched my description perfectly. The ring design was completed next and high quality photos were given to me for approval. I once again decided to make changes to the ring. This time adding each of our initials and birth stones to the side of the ring. Mathew agreed it was a very nice touch to the ring. When all was said and done, the final ring came out better then I had ever expected. Mathew said the reaction on my face was priceless. He felt the ring was exactly what I had envisioned for my partner. All this to say, Dixon Jewelers allowed me to come up with exactly what I felt my partner deserved in order to reflect who she is. Dixon Jewelers accepted the challenge and was fully supportive through this LONGER than normal process (only due to my changes :) ). Was I ever wrong! I excitedly made an appointment with Jason and I showed up expecting a consultation where there would be an exchange of ideas about the possibilities but there was none of that. I was there for maybe five minutes and he simply asked me to send him in inspiration pictures. I left him with a loose diamond and my deceased mother's wedding ring. The plan was to create a two diamond ring (toi et moi style) and then use the small leftover diamonds from the wedding ring to do a thin diamond band. No money exchanged hands and no design was agreed-upon. When I finally did receive the draft design, I didn't like it. I asked him if he had any other ideas for me but he didn't - he simply said " I can do whatever you want but you have to decide what it is that you want". I expected more input from someone who is a professional in the industry and has designed what I assume is many pieces of jewelry. Feeling like we had hit a wall, I indicated that I was going to come pick up the ring and loose diamond I left with him. It was at this point that he told me that he had removed all the diamonds from the existing ring and that there would be a charge of $90 for that work. To say I was shocked that he had done this was an understatement, but when I saw the ring, which he left completely mangled, I was even more shocked. Part of me wondered if I was in the wrong in being shocked that he had done this - I had never designed a jewellery piece before - maybe this was the norm? I went to another local jeweller and the experience with them was a breath of fresh air and what I expected from Goldform. I told them about my experience with Jason at Goldform and they were horrified. What he did to the ring I brought in is absolutely not standard practice and he should've never done that without consent. The new design for the ring I'm planning will include likely a duplicate of the setting from my mom's now mangled ring which I'm going have to pay for because he tore apart her ring so badly that we likely can't just use her existing setting. So now I'm going to be out even more money because of his carelessness. If I could give negative stars I would. Please stay away from Goldform.

The problem is he knows exactly what she will like. After visiting some places in Canada, online and in Barcelona and France where he was, he decided he will give her a custom ring. It was an other level, I went to all stores, sometimes it was the price sometimes it was something else. I went to the internet and found the name of David Congers. I called him, a very calm, confident voice. I felt that he really wanted to help me and knew what he was talking about. The problem is that during the pandemic, he closed his store and was working from home. The first time I went to his house, he was scared of me and I was scared of him. Showing diamond in a garage was not to reassure me. My phone died and I asked him if I could charge it inside his house, I could feel that he was not confortable to let me in. To make a story short, I showed him a model. He showed me a diamond that my son was thrilled about. We discussed prices and settled. When the time comes to deliver we went to a mall. Again, we were both scared of each other. I had to make sure that the number on the diamond was right and he did not want to give me the diamond until he received the money on his account. Besides that lack of confidence on both sides, it was a great experience. The ring was wonderful, both my son and my future daughter in law are so happy about it. The size, everything was exactly they way the wanted. I really recommend David Congers for his patient. He is working from home but he is honest and direct. Thanks again David.

The sales lady there was very knowledgeable, and steered them away from the sterling silver choice they'd made to a white gold, and they ended up choosing a very thin, delicate-looking ring I would have thought was 'too small' or too simple. She insisted I just try it on and winked at the kids. So I did, and it paired BEAUTIFULLY with my white sapphire ring. The whole experience was amazing. The pricing, quality, numerous solid gold chain options, and the service left us so happy. Nawal did all of our bracelets and she was beyond friendly - she seemed like a long lost friend and provided amazing service, especially to my 9 year old niece. I was so happy with the experience that I brought my mom in the next day so she could get some permanent jewellery too. Nawal helped her curate a set of anklets, a bracelet, and a custom necklace with birthstone pendant, all permanent, and all solid gold. My mom and I had so much fun that I bit the bullet and got another piece as well. We've looked around Ottawa for good options for permanent jewellery, but didn't find as many options for solid gold, as we did with Magpie. When I called yet again and finally spoke with the owner, she let me know that the people who can service it will be by in about a month. WHY was this not mentioned before? Very unprofessional and it shows that they try to take on too much & don't have the bandwidth for the jobs and repairs they do get. I do not recommend this jewellery store.
