I had a pair of boots that needed to be repaired with a zipper at the heel. I searched all over and no one would even try to fix them. I called Fine Shoe Repair in Newton and sent him some pictures and he said yes. I made the 1 hour drive from Davidson to his shop. Left them on a Monday and picked them up on Friday. They are perfect, actually, they zip better than when they were brand new. He transferred the decorative leather zipper pull to the new zipper too. I also brought a pair of clogs to re-soled since I made the 1 hour drive. They couldn't be more Ideal. I highly recommend this shop. He is friendly and personable. These folks are amazing! I don't trust my western boots to just anyone, but I was very much in need of having my old favorites re-soled and re-heeled. I couldn't find anyone at all near me in Kings Mountain, Shelby, or Gastonia. Some places would do minor repairs, but this is substantial work on not-so-cheap boots, so I wanted someone good! I called several places I saw online, and I read every review I found for those places. I ended up choosing Fine Shoe Repair, but because they are about 45 minutes away, I couldn't get there during their business hours. So I called him, discussed my needs, and shipped my boots off to him. A week or so later, they come back looking brand new! Amazing work. First class service from someone who takes pride in what he does. I would recommend him to anyone for boot repairs. If you have to ship your items to be repaired, I recommend taking pictures of what you need and sending them to him via Facebook so he can give you his (more than fair) price for the work. When you send them, make your check out for the price he quotes you, plus the amount you pay in postage so he can ship them back to you the same way. Having taken my shoes to Deans Shoe Repair in my old neighborhood in Charlotte I was a bit skeptical about trying this place out but had seen some reviews online and decided to give it a shot. I brought in two pairs of boots, my prized possession Italian leather boots from a trip to Rome and some not so prized boots that I had scuffed and spilled hot chocolate on them. I took them into the shop about 15 minutes before they were closing. With a smile on his face the young man at the front told me that they could repair the heels on the Italian boots and see what they could do with the water marks and scuffs followed by a "We will have them ready tomorrow." What? Tomorrow? Did I hear right? Two words....SHOE WIZARDS Sure enough they were ready the next day where at Deans it would have been a couple weeks out! How much did I pay for the heel repair and shoe cleaning? $16 EXTREMELY INEXPENSIVE for the high quality of work that they did. He even cleaned up the pair that I had asked the heel to be replaced.
