There should have been no confusion as I sold my income property and had all those documents separated for him. However, as a result, I received a return correction notice zeroing out my $600+ credit. I called Patrick to correct his mistake and he directed me to work with the Dept. of Revenue directly to provide what they are looking for. Now, they are saying I can only claim part of the credit because I bought the house in 2017. Reading online, it looks like I'm eligible for the credit on my sold property too. 6 months later, I still need to submit new documents and figure this out myself. Isn't that what I paid him for? By the time this is over, I will have spent countless hours on this over 8-10 months to fix his simple mistake. I think he knows what he's doing but he is working too fast and is prone to mistakes as a result. Then you're on your own to fix his mistakes.

We cancelled an insurance policy on a vehicle and she claimed to have taken it off our account only to find out we are still being charged for it. Now she wants proof that we junked it to credit us back the money we overpaid due to her mistake. I recently purchased a 2024 vehicle. We called her to set up the new vehicle under our account, which she then said she would email my husband updated insurance cards. Did she? No! Is the vehicle covered? Who knows!! Probably not!! Also, their customer service line is a joke. They are only open Monday through Friday. When I finally had someone answer me on the phone, they told me that they could not help me because I have a home and auto policy and they only deal with auto. If you are looking for a new insurance company or a new representative, I do not recommend Joann Miller as she is not someone you can rely on.

I started working with them over the summer. At that time, I wanted to make sure that I was paying estimated taxes correctly. Soon after my first meeting, I had an unexpected need to liquidate investments that left me with large capital gains. I received advice about adjusting estimated tax payments to reflect this, which I followed. Early this year, they handled my federal and state tax returns. To say there were mistakes would be an understatement. I ended up having to use one of the online tax prep programs, print out that information, and bring it in so that my return could be completed correctly. None of the information that I had provided over the summer was taken into account - I'm pretty sure that, despite conversations with them and a rather unique name, they have two separate files for me and think that I am two different people. Then I got a letter from the state informing me that they were penalizing me for incorrectly paying estimated taxes. Since my income was not consistent, due to the large capital gains received over the summer, they should have completed a specific form. This form had not been completed. I contacted the office and was told that it was MY responsibility to complete this form - it was not something that they would do for me. You would think that, given the fact that I had to provide them with a completed draft return and they failed to file the correct forms, there would be some sort of concession on fees. Not so - between what I paid over the summer and what I have been billed for the spring, they are getting over $1000. I suppose I should consider this a bargain - if I hadn't done all of the work myself, I would have lost over $3000 in refunds! Needless to say, they will not be preparing my returns in the future.
