It's been a while since I got my hair done and with a business trip coming up, I knew I had to do something with my hair. I previously had the owner, Josh cut my hair prior to opening so I decided to check out his shop. PG creations is located upstairs in the Playground Dance Studio which is conveniently located in Waipahu. Though parking is very limited, there are other options like Waipahu Market place which is literally a couple of steps away. Also guys, if you're into hair fades or looking for a new barber, Josh is def the one you would want to check out. He doesn't do too much hair dying just yet but he specializes at male cuts. I texted Josh a couple of days prior to my appointment and he was able to schedule me last minute with one of his stylists, Danica. Danica is really sweet and knows her stuff. I previously had a grown out balayage but I wanted to go more professional so I told her she could do anything she wants as long as it looks good and doesn't require going lighter. At first I was like oh no because I have told this to a previous stylist elsewhere and they butchered my hair. However I was wrong. Danica made my hair darker but with dimensions of different colors to blend the balayage in. She mentioned she didn't want to go too dark because of how drastic that could look plus how I tend to go lighter a lot. She even trimmed the dead ends and layered because of how thick it was. I appreciate how friendly everyone is in the salon. Some places it's a bit awkward going in your first time but not here. Josh came in for a bit while I was there and literally sat down just to chat with the different clients who were receiving services. Super convenient since it's right by my house. Really wanted to do something different for my hair for the new year, so I booked an appointment with Danica. She is very nice and talented. I went in the beginning of December to bleach my hair and I really liked it . Came back for my second session at the end of month and she made my hair a really nice plum color just in time for the new year. I recently went back because my hair faded and I needed a touch up for my birthday. She really liked how my hair color faded and she got inspired to do something different. Absolutely love this salon with everything in between!! It was really easy to make an appointment with Danica. Once you walk in, the other hairstylists greet you whether it's Cleo, Josh, Jada or Danica. The salon is really clean and spacious just enough for a handful of people. Danica made sure we both made ends meet with the hair I was trying to achieve and managed to get it down with a couple sessions. Pricing was justified on reasonable terms. Danica was able to demonstrate patience, tact and good humor. She also works well under pressure when she does a double booking and always checks up on you rather than just let you sit and wait till your hair is picking up the color. I've been going to Kara for a little over a year now & every time she always makes me fall in love w/ my hair! She takes the time to understand what you want but is also honest w/ letting you know whether or not you can achieve your goal in one session. When I first went to her I had box dye haired & since then we've went to blonde, silver, brunette, back to blonde, purple & now currently at brunette again. She lets you know what products to use to maintain your hair so you get your money's worth! My hairstylist was Kara. I came in wanting to go pink for a trip I was going on but since my hair wasn't light enough she did what she could. I was previously lightened by a different stylist from a different salon. She just did a toner on my hair and I got a more purple/mauve tone hair color. Not what I wanted but I still left super happy with the results! I paid a good amount of money but trust me, it's worth it and trust her because she knows what she's talking about. My color didn't last too long tho because it is just a toner and I went to Vegas and we all know how mainland water is not like Hawaii water. That and I didn't take all the measures to ensure my color last longer so I can't be mad about that. But I'm super happy with how my hair faded. Usually when my toner fades out, it'll go straight to a brassy orange. This time it faded to such a nice beige/ash brown with slight undertones of pink/purple. It's been two years since I've done anything to my hair so I made an appt with Danica for a balayage and cut after seeing Yelp reviews and her Instagram @beautyby_drose. Everything took about 4-5 hours but I absolutely loved the result. I've been a hair salon hopper for awhile - from when I was in California for college to here in Hawaii and I never really found a stylist that could give me a nice cut and color. With all the others it was tolerable and came out nice but I left with something completely different from what I wanted. For first time ever, I showed a stylist a picture and Danica matched it exactly! Cleo was also at the salon while I was getting my hair done and she helped to wash and blow dry my hair when Danica was assisting another client. Both of them are super sweet and easy to talk to. Took my daughter here to get her hair toned down. She ended up with colors of silver,blue,green,blonde and blonde. Dummy said it turned out like that due to bix color. The thing us this is my daughters second time going there. The first time she went there my daughters hair was already box colored and the stylist managed to make it ok. Since then no one else has touched my daughters hair, not even my daughter did anything thing to it. I was soooo upset that yet after the stylist messed up her hair, she dare to still charge my daughter. So i went back in and demanded to get the money back. How the heck can you charge someone for messing up someone's hair? And then offer free toning? Like really? So all you pg creations fan stay away from a stylist name jada, she is the one who messed up my daughters hair. Now my daughter have to wait until the color fades. And jada also bleached my daughters hair and now my daughters hair is not the same anymore. If i had my way i would not give any stars. But i at least had to put one to post this to warn everyone how she completely messed up. read more
