Started walking in this general direction and the wonderful aroma of coffee varieties drew me in! Some of the coffees are actually named after some of the actual Finger Lakes, so that's cool. Went up to the counter and asked the young man a couple of (what I thought were) easy questions and he seemed like he could care less what I was saying and didn't want to be there. He gave a vague answer that didn't really quite answer my question. My daughter ordered a coffee and asked for beans to be ground while I was thinking about what I wanted to order. He prepared hers and I asked for my order. In the meantime my daughter noticed that he had filled it and had not included the oat milk she had asked for and she asked again for that. He put it on the counter for her to add, but there was no room to really add it. She put in a little and then I added a little to mine as well. He had handed her the bag of beans while cashing us out and she noticed that they were not ground...as she had asked him to do prior...so she had to ask again. In the meantime she had to dribble some of her coffee into a garbage dispenser so she could put the lid back on and drink from the cup. So, overall, the coffee smelled and tasted great, but the service was poor. The guy was not trying to be friendly or helpful at all. I get he probably didn't really want to be working, but he was. Sometimes you need to just accept it, drink a cup of your own coffee, wake up, and at least try to be "present" and accommodating. Luckily we are very easy-going people and just rolled with it without complaint. Until now I guess. I absolutely hate to put negative things in a review, but that was our real experience. Will I go again? Sure. I always give second and usually third chances. People have off days. My challenge to this young man is that next time someone shows up, actually say, "How can I help you?" and actually mean it and then be helpful. This is all we ask. We came by around 2:00 PM, and they were out of most things. We thought it must be because they're about to close, but they're open til 7:00. They took our orders and payment before letting us know they had no milk for the lattes. They gave us the options for oat, almond or soy milk. When we chose oat milk, they came back again and said they don't have enough for that either. It was two young people there alone, and they didn't seem to have a sense for what was going on. We asked for the prices of some of the items at the counter and they didn't really know. I'm not accustomed to oat or soy milk, but I tried both lattes we got and they were both still delicious. I got an almond latte (with oat milk), she got a peanut butter latte with almond milk. The peanut butter taste was very subtle, and the drinks weren't very hot. They have a huge variety of beans you can buy, pretty much any flavor you can imagine. If I were in the market to buy beans, there are a dozen or more I'd wanna try from here. read more

Really sub par for what I know Finger Lakers Roasters to be. Service was wildly slow, even though not to many folks were in line when I went. Gave a generous tip, to then sit there for almost 15 minutes waiting for my coffee. To then have to walk up and remind them of my drink was the line for me, first sip was straight caramel syrup (made sense as the guy who made it came in with a coffee from Dunkin). Overall, not impressed and won't really make the trip out again. read more

I like the little treats, wall of different roasts, and super appreciate the non dairy powdered creamer! (-) The coffee never tastes very good. That goes for the regular and flavored. The coffee is also consistently served WAY too hot (I am a hot coffee lover too, known for microwaving my cup multiple times before finishing it). Finally, the last time I was served, I asked the older woman behind the counter to top off my coffee (as I didnt need space for cream) and she was rude about it. I got a coconut latte (smallest size) for under $5. I originally asked for a vanilla, then asked for it to be changed to coconut, but I think I ended up getting a vanilla one because it didn't taste like coconut at all (unless that's what their coconut flavor tastes like). You can add any flavor you want to a regular latte (they have vanilla, hazelnut, butterscotch, etc.). There is seating outside the shop in the mall area. They grind their own beans with a Diedrich machine there. They sell lots of gift items there (mugs, snacks, beans). The latte was fine but not better than a Starbucks one. I liked that their menu was straight forward, they offered cookies and snacks and that the store had a lot of bean varieties. The girl who worked wasn't eagerly helpful/friendly. There was no latte art. The steamed milk was frothed instead so the top of the latte had a fat pile of froth. read more

I love, love, love that in the middle of the mall, tucked away, there's a small, local coffee shop. I swear, the air is different around it. When you're over- stimulated by shopping, crowds, noise, you can escape into this little oasis. Walked into the location at 4:45pm on 10/4 to see two girls sitting on the counters on their cellphones.. yes, the counter they prepare your coffee. The girls were rude and didn't want to help at all. Management, you let employees need some training. read more

Needed a caffeine fix and the line at Starbucks was too long so I decided to give this place a try. They have plenty of unique flavors. We ordered a cappuccino and an espresso macchiato, they weren't as strong as we like but not a bad alternative if you need one. read more

Great coffee, iced coffee and lattes. The mall isn't exactly my most favorite place in the world... In fact when we sat down in some overstuffed club chairs nearby we had to move to another table because of the smell of sour milk. Very nice coffee place that's a break from the usual Starbucks or Dunkin' in the mall. I've had a lot of their offerings and haven't really been disappointed with the drinks! I still have to try buying my own beans, and I gotta get a mug! If you like non-boring coffee mugs then you have to check this place out! I wish they staffed like one more person sometimes though. There are times I've gone where it's just been one person for the whole store and there a line 10 customers deep. Those little snacks and pastries they have are killer too! The fresh coffee bean aroma really captures you as you walk by this place.. Out of every local coffee spot in Syracuse, this definitely has the smoothest coffee. There is no funky lingering aftertaste, and zero bitterness. If you drink coffee black you know what I mean. It is also one of the only spots to get a coffee where the beans are flavored rather than adding sugar filled flavor shots. They feature a different flavor roast every day, with exciting flavors like Cranberry Creme, Toasted Almond, German Chocolate, Irish Cream, Blueberry, etc. This makes it fun to go back to try a new flavor every time. They usually always have the Jamaican Me Crazy flavor which is delicious too. The only downside is that this location is in the mall, which a lot of ppl do not like. However right outside the coffee shop - there are several tables and chairs to enjoy your coffee and people watch. They also carry all the regular espresso drinks, which are great as well. You can even get a punch card and it adds up to a free large coffee. They also offer the largest variety of take home coffee beans out of any coffee shop in Syracuse. You can grind them right there so they are fresh, they have several flavors to choose from so you never get bored. This place is worth stopping to, hopefully they do well in the area and can expand. I'm tired of the other local coffee shops that overcharge for bitter coffee. This is a nice change of pace. read more

Whole coffee beans are overpriced and below average taste at best. If you want to support local business, try either Paul DeLima or Smith Restaurant Supply....much better quality beans and in the case of Paul DeLima, much less expensive. I am not a coffee drinker, but the rest of my family is. So on a recent trip to Syracuse we decided to grab a cup of Joe and their advertised 'homemade bagels' before using a Groupon my mother had purchased for the Mirror Maze in Destiny USA. Bagel: This was a very good bagel. Crispy on the outside, with a tender dough-iness on the inside. I like my bagels doughy - not bready. Bready bagels are just gross. In terms of the ranking of bagels, this may be my second favorite bagel of all time - next to Einstein Bagels (no I have never been to NYC and had a bagel, and yes, I know Einstein is a chain). The one complaint that I have about this bagel is that it lacked toppings. For an 'everything bagel', I like a gratuitous amount of 'everything' on my bagel. I felt like they did a poor job adhering the toppings to the bagel, which resulted in too few. The other complaint I have is the lack of bagel choices. They had the option of plain, everything, and cranberry (maybe? ... or cinnamon raisin?). Don't know, don't care, because I don't eat poo-flavors. Mind you, I understand that they are a small shop, so they cannot carry 600 flavors of bagels, and those three seem to cover the majority of bagel-lover flavors. So I cannot fault them for that. This is more of an fyi-warning for those looking for a large selection. Lastly, they do not make their own cream cheese - which is disappointing. It looks like they buy store-brand bricks; but I could not tell for sure. If you aren't making your own, at least use Philadelphia! Bagels: 4 / 5 Coffee: Everyone in my group got a coffee, and honestly, none of them could distinguish it as better or worse than the coffee that they usually get. Overall, it was a nice brew with some unique flavors, but the overall quality wasn't a big differentiator for anyone in my group. You need to go out into the mall to find a table. This is a bummer. First you are immersed in the nice, cozy atmosphere, to only then be forced back out into the cool, busy mall. So enjoy your ordering experience! Atmosphere: 2 / 5 Price: For a Small brew it was 1.70, for my bagel (with cream cheese) it was 1.30. These prices are excellent. Most places are well-above $2.00 for a toasted bagel with CC. This is an EXCELLENT value. Price: 5 / 5 Final Thoughts: For a good quality coffee spot in  Destiny for an excellent price, this is a great place to stop. Overall, in a mall where everything seems to be an overpriced tourist trap, this place charges fair and honest prices for above average quality. Coffee is great - seriously, amazing coffee! It's a welcome break from Starbucks and DD. My family and I have been customers since they opened up in the mall. Back then, customer service was excellent. Since the pandemic, however, they've taken a complete 180. Current employees are rude and always very unwilling to grind fresh beans for you. When you go to the counter and ask for certain flavors of beans, they tell you to look around at what's already bagged before they'll hand you a bag to bag them yourself. When we went there today, there were a few employees and none wanted to grind any beans for us. The current selections of flavors was posted in several places, but everything we asked for, they didn't have. Someone else came in for coffee at the same time and they told her that they were all going on break for 45 minutes and had to lock up. The customer was nice about it and said she'd come back in 45 minutes, and left. One of the employees then remarked to another that they now wish they could take longer breaks because that lady should "just go to Starbucks or Dunkin'". Service is worse each and every time we go, so we've decided we're just not going to bother anymore. The world is full of excellent coffee roasters and if I'm going to have to buy online to avoid these unnecessarily rude people, I might as well buy from company that cares about customer service. read more

I've taste tested double espressos from many coffee houses around town including Freedom of Espresso and Cafe 407 (they give you a single for the price of a double), Cafe Kabul (wierd floral aroma), and Recess and Finger Lakes has the best and most authentic. read more

This was definitely not a good experience. Waited about 7 minutes in line although only only person ahead of me. Anyways, finally ordered and was waiting for my drink. 3 people behind me got their drink and I was still waiting. I see staff members just milling around. I guess they thought I was just standing their for fun with my toddler. No one asked me what I was waiting for. Finally I asked someone if my drink was being prepared. She didn't even know what I ordered. No apology. At that point I kind of wanted a refund. I got my beverage which was supposed to frosted caramela but tasted like a coconut drink. This coffee shop is great. It's too bad it's not a bit bigger because the coffee makes me want to be productive- could be a great work place any way because there is seating nearby. This is my favorite place for a really good cup of coffee. I drink my coffee black, so differences in the roasting process and quality really stand out. The Jamaican Me Crazy blend is my favorite; it is so flavorful and delicious. It is also their best seller, so you can find it in it's whole bean form in pound or half pound bags near the front counter. My only real complaint is that you have to go to the mall to buy it. Also, I have tried one of their specialty drinks: A flavored iced latte that they were advertising that day. For drinks like that, I do prefer Starbucks because they have really perfected the coffee-as-milkshake game. Still, I don't think that that's a reflection on the caliber of this coffee shop. I'll say that I love my Starbucks, but I love supporting local coffee shops even more. The coffee here is fantastic! Jamaican Me Crazy has become a staple in my household. No need to add any cream or sugar, but still tastes great if you prefer to add those in. Also, the White Christmas flavor...OMG. I won't drink anything else over the holiday season. The lattes here are great! There are so many flavor options and they always have some fun featured lattes that are a combination of flavors. They have weekly deals and served baked goods from Harrison Bakery (yum!) and this is a great place to grab some gifts for the coffee lovers in your life! read more
