So we came here on a Friday night about 6 o'clock and they were supposed to be an open mic happening which we were excited about because we love performing an open mic. Since we've been out all day we were really hungry so we decided to eat something before we performed. At the moment there couldn't have been more than eight people in the whole place inside and out on the deck total. We were handed menus that had no prices on them. I ordered the buddah bowl with chicken strips and my husband got a quesadilla with steak. It took about 40 minutes for the food to come and the boot bowl was mostly a big bowl of greens with what couldn't have been more than a tablespoon of chicken chopped up on it. It was very tasty. My husband's quesadilla was the size you would expect loaded with cheese but literally one little tiny cube of steak in each of the six wedges. His quesadilla was tasty We only ordered water to drink because we were going to be singing later and it took about 15 minutes for the water to get to us. She "forgot". The whole time we were there nobody checked on us and place never got very busy no more than maybe eight people the whole time. We decided not to stay to sing because there was practically nobody there and the people who were there were outside on the deck while the place for the performers was inside in the bar. And as far as we knew we were the only people there who were planning to perform. The Buddha bowl which would've made a nice side salad to any other meal was $14, while the quesadilla was $13. In my opinion overpriced for what we got. We also bussed our own table. read more

Can we just start with the Pickle Flatbread? Oh and the fact that there are 30 different brew ON TAP!!! (My honey managed to try 28 of them. The last two were ciders, so he took a pass and just left it at 28...or SEVEN BEER FLIGHTS!!!) We waited 15 minutes for the menu, 10 minutes to take our order, and 20 to get a pulled pork flat bread and a chipotle chicken sandwich. Both were awful. You have to go to the bar to get your drinks. One glass of Bully Hill wine was the same price as a whole bottle. They only have wine and craft beer, no liquor. Wait times are approximate. There is an excellent balance of casual hang-out space and enough table service for more formal events here. I've gone with friends and had a few drinks on a Friday night, but I've also brought a visiting colleague to a business lunch here. It really does work for both types of occasions. The views from the outdoor seating area are beautiful, given the deck overlooks the Chemung River and there are usually ospreys nesting in the boxes directly across from the restaurant. The menu is not huge, but it does have a few options for most major types of dietary restrictions -- something I greatly appreciate as I have trouble finding places that work with my allergies. Finger Lakes House was such a delightful place to visit! It's a cozy restaurant/bar that I've never visited before, but it felt so homey. We visited on a Thursday night which was great for us because happy hour was going on from 4-7pm. All drafts were only $5 and I'm talking about craft beer drafts from all over the area, including Buffalo, NY. They have an extensive selection of drafts and their wine list is just as extensive because there are so many wineries in the area. Their menu is more along a tapas style. They offer a variety of flatbreads with different toppings and a few appetizer options as well. We decided to go with the Mexican Corn Dip that's made with their "secret chipotle sauce." When it comes to flavor, I was not disappointed. It was sweet because of the corn, but it definitely had a little kick to it, but it wasn't too spicy. My only qualm about the dish is that it's a smaller portion of dip, certainly enough for two, but the amount of chips that they give you is overwhelming and there's not enough dip for all of those chips. Also, the dish that the dip comes it is tall and round, but the width is not there, making it a little bit more difficult for you to actually dip your chip. A shorter and wider bowl would make it a lot easier. We visited around 4:30pm and it was nice a busy for happy hour. Though there was a crowd, both bartenders on staff were very attentive to all that was going on and they never lost their friendliness and positive attitude. This is the most charming neighborhood tavern . The food is terrific and there is a wide variety of local beer and wine. The interior is warm and welcoming and the view overlooking the Chemung River from the covered deck is beautiful, particularly at sunset. Heaters and a propane fireplace make it cozy even when it gets chilly. We have been here several times and it is consistently good. The staff is always attentive. Chef Glenn made grilled chicken wings. The grilling gave the wings a nice flavor and we choose traditional buffalo sauce. The blue cheese dressing was delicious with tons of blue cheese chunks. YUM. The spinach artichoke dip is also delicious. Wish there was more of it. The PRETZEL is enormous! Crisp outside and fluffy inside with a generous sprinkle of salt. The pretzel comes with a nice mustard sauce, a cheese sauce and nutella. 3 of us shared this pretzel it is that big! And the best for last..... PICKLE PIZZA! Our neighbors recommended this place to us and it turns out that our land lord is a part owner too! This place has their own parking lot and there are plenty of street parking too should you need it. They have a patio area outside where you can hang out. The building looks like a house because, it is a house. The bottom floor is the restaurant and the floors above, we learned, are for rent. The buildings that are attached to it are also apartment buildings. They have a large selection of beers and wines here from local places and nationwide. We got beer and wine flights which came with a little tray of snacks. The flatbreads we ordered were awesome! Both tasted super savory and cooked to perfection. The Potachos were an interesting choice. I wanted something different and that looked very different. They were essentially potato chips + nachos. They were good but I may stick with regular nachos. Wonderful treasure for the town of Elmira. I had the Merri Riesling which was very tasty. We had the pulled pork flat bread which was amazing. Waiters were friendly and helpful. The owner was on site and very amenable. I can't wait to bring more people here to share it. Returned for another visit. Ambience is still just as awesome. Today I'm drinking Miles Ghost, which is always tasty. We're doing a repeat with the caprese and pulled pork. Delicious! Absolutely love this place 8/25/19: And we're back again. Stopped in today for a "quick" lunch and a drink. We walked in and saw there was outside seating on a deck overlooking the river which was a plus. We got a flight and a 12 oz blonde ale. We decided to order two appetizers while the bartender was getting our drinks ready. They were out of tacos and gluten free flat bread as well as another item that was scratched off the menu. We got the Pretzel that came with beer cheese mustard and Nutella. Menu said it was huge. We also got the street corn dip. We took our flight and beer and went outside to sit on the upper deck so we could look out at the river. Bartender said she would be out to check on us. There were two other girls sitting on the deck and immediately told us there were lots of bees, and they were correct! Many bees all across the deck but we dealt with it. Luckily weren't stung. About 15 minutes later a guy brought our street corn dip... it was cream cheese corn some cilantro and topped with a little bacon, in a small 5-6 oz dish, aside about ten tortilla chips with some cheese sprinkled on them. It was lack luster... we never were checked on even once. We were never given napkins with the food. We waited about another half hour (close to 45 minutes or so total) we were done with our drinks and the pretzel didn't come so we figured it was forgotten. No big deal we were ready to leave so we took everything inside and were ready to cash out. Bartender said our pretzel would be coming shortly they were making the beer cheese..... ok, I thought this beer cheese must be pretty epic to take almost an hour to make! (6 people total in the place now). We asked if they could just make the pretzel to go so they did we paid and left. The pretzel was indeed huge it came out in a pizza box! It was also $18. We got home and tried this beer cheese and pretzel... again more cream cheese with a tiny hint of beer and maybe cheddar taste? Definitely not something to take an hour to make... pretzel, though large was also blah... doughy. Mustard dip was ok, tasted like honey mustard mixed with some Dijon and maybe soy or teriyaki... nutella.... I have in my cupboard at home, nothing special or worth $18. read more

We've been going here since they opened. Taco Tuesdays and Trivia are a blast! The service is always wonderful! The owner is most the time on site and around the bar serving everyone! The menu is awesome! Their food is delightful and they are always putting new exciting things on the menu. I hosted my husband surprise birthday party there and I was able to hire the Trivia guy (Monocle Entertainment) to do Trivia and it was a blast! I preorder some food to be on the large table in the event room for my guest and they just kept bringing out goodies. I was worried it would be over my set amount because it just kept coming. I got the tab for about 6 people and it was still WAY under what I thought it would be. They were wonderful!! The energy and atmosphere are always so hip. I feel more cool just because I go there. I want to love this place, I really do...so much potential. Great beer selection, high class establishment and food, comfortable, friendly owner, great service...all A+. So why 3 stars? Price. A menu full of $9 $11 $13!! pints?! For beer from local places (Ithaca, Hector, Ellicottville, Rochester etc). I understand mark up but come on, this is Water St in Elmira not Manhattan!! I'm not one that's shy about dropping good money to eat and drink out either, but sadly, $13 pints will keep me from returning to what is otherwise a pretty great place. This was an amazing find! We were visiting the area and looking for a place to taste local wines and beers. The bar was cozy and had many cool touches like old barn boards and doorknobs as purse hangers under the bar. My husband tried two local beers. Our server was knowledgeable and suggested brews based on his tastes. I had a flight of local white wines. All were very tasty and they brought me gluten free crackers to cleanse my palate, accommodating my food allergy. My husband and I shared an amazing cheese plate with at least 5 different local cheeses. I was again provided crackers I could eat, separate from the regular crackers. We also enjoyed the gluten free pulled pork flatbread. It was flavorful and delicious. The staff was attentive and friendly. We also noted a wheelchair lift at the rear deck to accommodate people with wheelchairs. I would strongly recommend this to anyone traveling in the area who wants to sample local food and beverages.
