Nice place for some beer and burgers with a view. We were lucky enough to snag a spot outside. Ambience is kind of a rustic ski lodge inside. There's a friendly dog off leash who seems to be the house pet, but he definitely comes looking for food so be on the lookout. Service is friendly and helpful. We started out with some beer and ordered a pint of the two goats, red ale and a flight with the Seneca Lodge, peach blonde, war horse, and two of the red ales because they were out of the last one. Actually really enjoyed all of them. I normally go for darker beers, but the peach blonde was refreshing and would be perfect for summer. To start we ordered the spinach artichoke dip, which was OK but needed something crispy then pita. A toasted crostini was definitely called for. For entrées, we ordered two bistro burgers, which were both cooked nicely and complimented our beer nicely. Probably could've used a little more tomato jam, but we enjoyed our meal and the reasonable prices.

When visiting the wineries, many of them offer little in the way of food, so it is great to find smaller restaurants along the lake to get a bite. This bistro/bar is associated with the Lakeside resort and the prices are very reasonable and the food is good. Whether you are staying at the resort or hungry while traveling by, give them a try. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Great service, yummy fries and a pretty good steak panini. Panini could've used a little something on it, kinda plain IMO. Really good overall.

Just Eh - Peanut butter dessert was the best thing

3 1/2 stars. Lovely very busy restaurant w/a nice interior & covered outdoor seating. As it was raining we had to sit inside. There were only 2 people working at this place doing everything including dealing with people at the attached hotel so serviced suffered a bit. We enjoyed bottles of Chardonnay & Rose as well as the blue burger, fish tacos, chicken taco's, veggie stir fry & the dessert sampler. Food was decent - I didn't care for the fish in my taco's (swai fish). Dessert sampler was just OK. We liked the chocolate peanut butter dessert - the rest were uninspiring - I'd skip it!

Gorgeous views from Their outdoor eating area! Food was delicious, I asked for a special request and they realized the mistake and corrected it immediately.

I feel bad leaving a review so off the status quo, but I genuinely don't understand and wish we had had a 4.6 experience here like what was listed on yelp. Maybe we ordered wrong? My family came here for dinner as a night out on vacation. We got two different salmon dishes which were fine but completely unseasoned and two different chicken dishes which looked and tastes like Tyson's frozen chicken heated up. Our waitress was kind and attentive and the interior is casual but nice. The view is lovely. However, the food was way over priced for the quality and left every single one of us confused and disappointed. I never leave negative yelp reviews, but this food was not a choice we'd ever make again. My positive note is that the outdoor seating view is great and they had a variety of local beers and wines!

It's dog friendly and cute outdoor seating. Came on a Friday at 5pm and without a reservation so it was going to be a 45 minute wait. Later on the hostess said if we could give back the table in a hour we could eat now. So we did. I got the southwest steak sandwich and my husband got the chicken wrap and we ordered pretzels with cheese dip as an appetizer. For the price point, I would say this is pricey for the little you get, a few pieces of steak barely and peppers or cheese, and no hint of a sauce to give it a southwest kick. I ate the sandwich in one sitting, which is rare for me and was still hungry. When it came to dessert I passed, because there's no way I was going to spend anymore money here. It's a nice surrounding setting, but the price for the food doesn't match.

Atmosphere: 5 Love that this restaurant is pet friendly! The restaurant is spacious and provides an abundance of outdoor seating as well. Since it was a cool, rainy day, we decided to sit outside with our two small dogs (5 and 10 pounds). They have a hook on the wall for you to keep your dog leashed if you want. They also have a dog menu and a water bowl for them too. The staff are laid back and dog lovers as well. Temperature was perfect to enjoy the beautiful view outside. Portion: 5 I ordered a salad with grilled chicken and usually salad portions are huge but this one is just right for me. The appetizers were just right for us to share as well. We were all able to finish the food with no leftovers! The price for the amount of food is fair. Flavors: 5 I love the strawberry guava spritzer! They actually made it into a mocktail for me and it was very refreshing. My mom even ordered one after she tried mine! Flavors are spot on and made for a satisfying meal! We also ordered some steak tips for the dogs and they loved it! The staff were so accommodating and we love that we could bring the dogs in to join us. There was a big dog named Rocky who wandered the grounds outside and inside the restaurant too. He is super sweet and friendly!

We were referred by Rachel at Lakewood Winery to eat at 3812 Bistro for dinner on a Sunday evening after a day in Watkins Glen. What a gem! We loved the atmosphere, food, and drink choices! The servers were kind and attentive. It was fun to see the renovation photos on a nearby TV. We walked around the beautiful and well kept property. We will definitely stay here the next time as each of the rooms and cabins have a beautiful lake view. Many thanks to our amazing server Karen! We will be back!

That's how 29$ sirloin steak and $14 add-on scallops look like... ummm 7$ a scallop? What's up with asparagus, guys? Asparagus deficit in the area? It threw me off . 43$ dish looks like a joke to me. Taste is average. Not coming back.

Total vacation vibes dining by the window overlooking the Seneca Lake. When you first enter this Lakeside Resort you see a pet parking room....freaking awesome if you ask me! The owners have a dog named Rudy that peruses the restaurant. I was perplexed a moment in our meal as I saw Rudy outside looking in at us and I turned to my gf saying do we let him in? Lol. It was very funny and made the vibe that much more unique and special as this was the first restaurant to start our Thanksgiving tradition of getting away for the holiday. I went with the Roasted Turkey, Cornbread Stuffing, and Brussels sprouts. Turkey was good, cornbread stuffing meh (I prefer regular stuffing but did not see an option for that choice), and the sprouts were okay. I know this is not a ringing endorsement of the items however they were very reasonably priced and it did the trick as I was starving from the four hour commute. My girlfriend ordered the Salmon. I tasted it and it was good. The risotto we both agreed tasted too much like vegetables or something not pleasant. I want to say it look like the entire risotto was dyed from perhaps a beet. Asparagus was good however there were not many plated, four in total. Coffee and tea were are complimentary which is a nice gesture for anyone who dines here. We ended the meal with a creme brulee. The portion was extremely small however it tasted very good. I recommend this place if you are in the area and want that lovely warm feeling like you are on a vacation and are being catered to. As always people SYOY!!!

Breathtaking views of both sides of Seneca Lake, not far from Watkins Glen.

My Dad and I had both a great meal and a memorable experience at 3821 Bistro last night. The setting is amazing, with gorgeous views of Seneca Lake. We sat on the deck and the owner's dog, Rocky, immediately pegged us as suckers and came and sat next to us during the entire dinner. My Dad had the scallops and I had the chicken parm sub - both were great, the server was lovely, and the other diners were friendly and had really nice dogs!!! What a great find in the Fingers Lakes.

We had the chance to try some great beers, and one unique experience stood out: mixing two beers together, a concept similar to a blend in the wine world. As the bartender put it, "It's a game we like to play." On tap, they had a solid lineup: 1. Hector Logger - A traditional lager (4.9% ABV) 2. Goatmaster Kölsch - A crisp Kölsch (5.1% ABV), which I tried and really enjoyed 3. RedBeard - A Red Ale (5% ABV), a reliable go-to beer 4. Cream Ale - A bit different at 6.7% ABV, more robust than the typical lower-ABV versions 5. Golden Crush - A hazy IPA (5.1% ABV) that had nice fruit-forward notes, but not overpowering 6. X IPA - An Imperial IPA (7.8% ABV) Mosaic! Mosaic! - A Pale Ale (5.2% ABV) that followed the traditional pale ale profile and was very enjoyable 7. Goatmeal Stout - An Oatmeal Stout (8.1% ABV) Then came the blends--something I hadn't seen much of before. The only one I tried was 1. Goat Juice, a 50/50 mix of Hazy IPA and Kölsch (5.1% ABV). It was bursting with amazing flavors, the best of both worlds. Some of their other blends included: 2. Red X - A mix of Red Ale and Imperial IPA 3. Goatgasm - A Kölsch and IPA blend 4. Headbutt - A Stout and Cream Ale combo I tend to gravitate toward Hazies, Kölsches, and Pale Ales, so this place hit all the right notes for me. I can't wait to come back and see what new creations they have on tap next time!

He was very friendly and provided some great information on the cask-brewing process and how it differs from the American process. The few beers in my flight (about $12ish) all tasted great but lacked the traditional carbonation found in most typical beers. This, along with being served at room temperature, is a major difference from other beer I learned. The cask ales are naturally carbonated giving it a milder, less harsh, and maybe flatter taste. Most other beers are force-carbonated. While not available on the day I visited, I would loved to have tried some of their food options. Maybe I will the next time I am in the area. Our next stop of the day took us to our first distillery visit of the trip, and wow--Finger Lakes…read moreDistilling did not disappoint. What surprised us most? This was our very first time visiting, and we hadn't even realized they had been established since 2007! Knowing that they had been perfecting their craft for over 17 years, we were eager to dive into the tasting experience and see what they had to offer. The tasting room had a laid-back yet polished feel, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff ready to guide us through their lineup of small-batch, handcrafted spirits. The distillery prides itself on using locally sourced grains and fruits, and you could tell from the first sip that quality and attention to detail were at the heart of their process. The Tasting Lineup I opted for a tasting of four different spirits, and after enjoying those, I was encouraged to try two more--a bonus that made the experience even better. Here's what I sampled: 1 Straight Bourbon - This was beautifully balanced, with sweet corn and vanilla upfront, followed by a warming spicy rye kick on the finish. Smooth yet complex, it was a fantastic introduction to their bourbon lineup. 2 Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon - A true standout, this one had rich caramel and toasted oak flavors, along with the perfect balance of spice and warmth. Aged for at least four years and bottled at 100 proof, it had a bold yet refined character that made it easy to appreciate. 3 McKenzie Straight Rye - If you're a fan of rye whiskey, this one is for you. It had that signature spicy rye bite, but what really made it unique was the sweet sherry cask finish, adding a layer of richness and complexity that lingered beautifully. 4 Bottled-in-Bond Rye - One of the most interesting pours of the day, this rye was bursting with flavors of chocolate, nougat, and dried red fruit. The influence of the barrel aging was prominent, giving it a decadent, almost dessert-like quality while still holding onto its classic rye spice. After those four, I couldn't resist trying two additional spirits: 5 Apple Brandy (Aged 10 Years) - A masterfully aged apple brandy that showcased deep, caramelized apple flavors, balanced with warm baking spices and oak influence. The 10 years in the barrel really allowed this spirit to develop incredible depth and smoothness. 6 Grappa - This was an unexpected favorite--simply sensational. Grappa can sometimes be overpowering, but this one was smooth, refined, and packed with rich grape flavors, making it one of the best versions I've tried. Taking a Piece of Finger Lakes Distilling Home While every single pour was impressive, the one that stood out the most for me was the Straight Bourbon--so much so that I had to bring a bottle home. It reminded me of a classic Rye Whiskey, with just enough spice to keep things interesting but smooth enough to sip neat. Final Thoughts Finger Lakes Distilling far exceeded expectations, and I can't believe it took us this long to visit! With their commitment to quality, incredible range of spirits, and inviting tasting experience, this is a must-visit for anyone exploring the Finger Lakes region--whether you're a bourbon lover, rye enthusiast, or just appreciate finely crafted spirits. It was the perfect stop to break up a day of wineries and breweries, offering something distinctly different yet equally enjoyable. Next time, I'd love to stay a little longer, maybe sip on a whiskey cocktail and take in the atmosphere even more. Cheers to great whiskey and new discoveries!

Had tried their McKensie bourbon at a bar or top and liked it, so was happy that it was on the itinerary of our wine and spirits tour. The space, like most wineries/distilleries/breweries up here, overlooks a lake (Seneca in this case) which is very scenic. Inside of the place was very nice and the staff could not be friendlier. I can't underscore the importance of the latter. Selection here is awesome. Some places make 2 bourbons and call themselves a distillery. These guys do whiskey, gin, vodka, varietals and other specialty stuff. I focused on the whiskeys which were awesome. I can see why these guys have won so many medals. I tried the small batch, cannoli infused bourbon, applejack, rye, straight bourbon, bottled in bond, single malt and Applejack. Everything was at least noteworthy. Single malt was awesome, which is the biggest thing I look for as the true test of a distillery. They had just started making the applejack, and it one of these best I've tried. People don't what the hell this is, but it's basically cider-based whiskey; it's great for cooking, drinking and was the first American-invented spirit going back to colonial times. Don't sleep on it. Only one I wish I had tried was the pot stilled, but I had enough to know it's probably good. I took home the applejack and the single malt, as those are really my go to's, however there was a lot worth trying. Also nice to see them offer number of cool cocktail options for those less inclined to drink pure alcohol. We ended the visit with some cigars infused with their cordials, which were an awesome surprise. This place is destination worthy. People think of wine when they think Finger Lakes, but there's more up here than that. This places exemplifies that. Will be back, and will buy their stuff locally.
