If was there just for drinks would have bumped it up to 4 but the food was only mediocre and the locals distracted with conversation with whom I'm guessing was the owner. Pretty raunchy and just seemed like a frat house, which is weird for a group of 40-75 year old guys. A farce, seemingly run by high-schoolers new to the restaurant business. We went for lunch on Sunday, 19 April 2026. After we had sat for about ten minutes, someone turned up the pop-country music to nightclub levels. Our food took 45 minutes to arrive. The server brought no utensils, and the order was wrong (no chicken on the chef's salad), and although the fish sandwich and mozzarella sticks were hot, the fries were room-temperature. I went in search of utensils. At the window to the kitchen, a guy gave me a knife, but he had no forks; a different server led me to the hostess's station, where she rooted in four cubbies that should have held tableware, but all proved empty. She then dug out a plastic-wrapped set for takeout--plastic fork, knife, spoon, salt & pepper, napkin. How does a restaurant fail to provide a fork? I suspect a _Weekend at Bernie's_ situation, where the manager lay dead in the back, but the kids and one cook tried to keep up appearances. The mozzarella sticks were good, though. read more

Nice place... Typical bar & grill atmosphere. Lots of fried food and sandwiches. I would like to see some more salads on the menu, but maybe they aren't popular with the locals. I got the mushroom and swiss with a cucumber salad. The burger was pretty dry and served on a small white bun. We had a rather large party so I would understand if it took an extra few minutes to get our food, but we didn't have food until 45 minutes after arrival. The waitress was fine but it would've been nice to have had our wait acknowledged. We had two babies and a toddler with us who were getting fussy after an hour of being there and she didn't really seem to notice, as she stayed pretty far away from our table. Enough so that we didn't get refills or silverware until we actually got our food. The food itself was fine. The sweet tea was less than desirable and the cottage cheese for the toddler tasted almost sour. Sadly, not a great experience. read more

I visit this restaurant once or twice a year. We were able to sit outside on a beautiful day. We ordered appetizers and the pretzel bites were amazing! The nachos were typical along with the fried pickle chips. I did like the choice of dipping sauce with the pickles. Nachos could have used more toppings. Finn's was recommended by a store owner in Hannibal. He especially brought up that they have a Military including veterans discount. We order our food and it was above average. When we received the bill there was no discount. Mentioned it to the waitress and was rudely told we are supposed to tell them first. It is not on door or in menu. Obviously if you are in the know you get it otherwise they claim they offer it but don't support their discount. Should the waitress have known she was waiting on a Vet. The hat with a large US Navy Veteran and Veteran T shirt May have been a dead giveaway. Had the pony shoe good but a local meal. Frustrating to be told they offer a discount but hide it. read more

The service was great. The cook, cooked my burger to perfection. But, I asked for onion on my burger, and it came with one raw onion ring. I asked if they could give me a "slice" of onion and the cook came out and explained at Finn's, that one ring was a slice of onion. I ate my burger with out onion, and when I was almost finished , they brought me out a slice of onion. I was done with my meal, so that was a waste. I asked to speak with the owner and someone came to my table and asked what my problem. I identified myself, and explained the issue. He said that ring is considered onion everywhere. I said I go to many pubs in town, and when I ask for a "slice" of onion, I get it. He said I was wrong and walked away. When they brought my check, they charged me $1.25 for the onion (which I didn't eat). I left no tip on the credit card, but told the waitress she did a good job, and left her over a 20% tip. I suggested she find another place to work because Finn's is going down hill. I guess she told her boss. He came back out and asked if I was rating his restaurant. I said yes. He said do it out side and leave. I said I will leave soon. He then said leave now, or I'll help you. i suggested I may need help, please. But he just walked away. This jerk never did identify him self. But I will never set foot in Finn's again. read more

We had a very bad experience here today. We were seated outside where we ordered some drinks. While waiting on our drinks we decided to move to a table in the shade because we're already sunburned. Shortly after, we heard our server complaining about us moving to a different section. One complaint would have been fine, but we then listened to her as she not-so-quietly complained about us. After waiting 20 minutes and no drinks came and no servers arrived to help us. We got up, paid at the bar, and left. Went into Finn's this evening to have a quiet dinner with a friend. Our bartender, Andrew, was in his third day of training. He seems to picking up very quickly. He had great recommendations for appetizers - fried pickles, nachos, toasted ravioli (with the option to have them buffalo style!), and zucchini chips. We had our hearts set on nachos. They were just as good as he said they'd be! We even got a good laugh when he couldn't find the silverware, and walked around asking where the "silverware rollers" were. We were waiting for our main course and what do you know?! another Andrew pops up behind the bar. By now, we've nicknamed them "small" and "tall" Andrew. Both of them were very attentive. The small Andrew was super nice, and offered me a shot, although i'm visibly pregnant. No worries, though. He was just making a fun little MOCKtail for me so i had something other than water to drink. Our entrees were just as good as our appetizer! Needless to say we will definitely be back. Hopefully the two Andrews will be working, too! read more

Sorry, Finn's... wish I could leave a better review, but this was our experience... Let's start with the greeter, who appeared put out that we arrived. He wasn't rude, exactly, just not friendly. There were a handful of people already seated- lots of open tables- and he looked around finally deciding on seating the two of us a a large square table in the corner. For a Friday night the place was just dead. There were two other issues concerning ambiance- first of all, there were no delicious smells. None. IMO, it would be worth it to throw in a batch of fries every now and then to get the place to smell like food. Second, the only way to get music is to pay for it!!! From other reviews I see that sometimes there is live music, but not when we were there. If one walks into a restaurant on a Friday evening, and it is not busy, the greeter seems distracted, there is no social chatter, it doesn't smell like anyone is cooking, and there is no music at all... well, I know better. We should have left. But... we didn't. My husband feed the digital jukebox $5 for 12 credits... each song costs a different amount of credits. Hotel California was worth 4 credits. He squeezed 4 songs out of his 12 credits, so around 15 minutes of music, and then it was quiet again. The first half of a large group came in and the greeter was looking around in a panic about how to seat them. I made eye contact with one of the party and offered to move so that they could put our square table with the neighboring rectangular table, but the greeter said no, you don't need to move, and instead pushed a round table up to their rectangular table. He seemed to be more polite to us after that. Let's move on to dinner... my husband got a BBQ burger, and... IT WAS GOOD!!! Yeah! I ordered the BBQ Cobb salad. Don't do it. If you find a delicious looking photo online, well, read some other reviews of the BBQ Cobb salad. Basically, the chicken was cold cubes- not recently grilled- no grill marks like the photo, a bit of cheese, bacon bits (not real bacon) and huge chunks of iceberg lettuce. It was horrible. The greeter, who was also our waiter, checked on us regularly, and really, I should have complained, but at this point, I was pretty well over it and felt that chocolate was the only cure, so we crossed the street to get some cake at Java Jive. read more

Dated restaurant and simple menu with modern pricing. We came here during a day tour of Hannibal as it was one of the only spots open in downtown on Black Friday. I remember it being nearly identical to how it was when I came here as a child. Walking in, the first thing that struck me was how dark the ambiance was; it felt almost cave-like, and I think it would be a perfect haven on a hot summer day. The staff was friendly and the service was efficient. The tables were sticky and the water had a strong taste from the ice. When we got the menus, the first thing I noticed was nearly everything had a fried element to it. We ended up having the pork tenderloin, the shrimp po boy, and a hot dog for our little one. The tenderloin was tasty, and my wife said she enjoyed her sandwich, but both weren't anything to write home about. The little one didn't touch the leathery-skinned nine dollar non-dressed hot dog. Honestly, the food was just lackluster and pricey for what it was. That combined with the ambience will make me remember to look for better options the next time I'm in town. Criticism aside, I feel that with an updated menu and a little redecorating, Finn's could become a destination in downtown rather than just a run-of-the-mill eatery. We ate there once and the food was good so we went back the next day since we were in the area. Never underestimate the power of good, logical and customer friendly policies. We asked to be seated outside at an empty table in the shade but no...we either had to sit inside or at a table in full sun because their foodserver rotation schedule is sacred over customer preference. They literally couldn't figure it out relative to balancing server tables. We left to the refrain of a sarcastic "have a nice day" from a foodserver who made it her business to get involved in our discussion with the manager...unbelievable. We ate elsewhere. read more

Great food, good atmosphere here but nothing remarkable to put them over the top. Ordered the chicken parmesan sandwich with onion rings and the food was fresh and delicious. The rings were house battered and perfectly seasoned. The house-made marinara was chunky and flavorful. I highly recommend those onion rings though, they were delicious. They just seem to be missing a special menu item or items to really set them apart. It is all food that is available hundreds of other places, but at least it is well done here Service was friendly and quick! It was easy to get a seat here on a Friday afternoon. They have ample and nice, shady patio seating which, unfortunately, didn't provide a view of the Mississippi, but you're close enough to hear the boat horns and feel the atmosphere of Hannibal. read more
