Stopped into Francesca's Fiore for dinner on a Friday evening. The inside was quite large to hold groups of all sizes. I loved that they had a small outdoor patio to enjoy the weather and be connected with the busy downtown. Their menu had starters, pastas, pizzas, and entrees in a curated format. They serve wine and beer regularly but have a rotating specials menu for cocktails and food. Our server let us know that the bruschetta rotates weekly which is cool. For mains, I got the Ricotta Gnocchi. All of that pastas are clearly homemade. The gnocchi was certainly pillowy and paired nicely with the creamy truffle sauce. My husband got the Orecchiette pasta which could have had a more prominent sauce to it. Overall, the pasta was fresh and ingredients tasted of good quality. The portions for price point seemed a little off as dishes didn't come with a bread basket nor side salad. I wish we would have gotten either a bit more pasta or something else to make the price feel of value. Either way, this was a nice spot to enjoy good company at. We moved to the area a year ago from the city and have had a seriously difficult time finding decent food. This by far was the best meal we have had! I really like the pizza and the food there - it's always tasty and I truly enjoy eating at this place. However, it's very hard to know when they are actually open. Today I drove there specifically to have a meal, but there was a private event and it was closed to regular customers, which was disappointing. It's also usually very loud inside, making it difficult to have a calm conversation. While I definitely recommend the food, I believe the place should improve their customer service and do a better job informing customers about their opening hours and private events. read more

Such a cute spot in forest park - immediately grabs your attention from its bright red and white exterior. Makes you feel as if you came across a small piece of Italy. A neighbor and I decided to come here for happy hour - get a small taste of what they have to offer. Upon arriving, it was incredibly empty. We were informed they were having a technical issue. Somehow this translated to what they were and weren't able to serve that evening. We weren't discouraged - we chose what we could: margarita pizza, beer and burrata. The food came out in a decent amount of time and was super fresh and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The pizza is thin crust and the burrata was good and creamy. The pistachio topping was missed as a whole. I think it was there for decoration because I didn't taste it. The prosciutto was super good - tender and the cuts were perfect. Best I've had in Chicago and made the dish. I rated it a four because of the pricing. Luckily we paid HH prices but knowing it's more pricey without HH deals, I wouldn't want to pay those prices. Fiore..... Fiore I started going to Fiore when I moved to the neighborhood and the food has been consistent. My Go-to is the Mafalde! I enjoy the pizza ...... even if it's not deep dish. The lobster Campanelle was also delicious. Desserts and the items in the adjoining cafe are tasty as well. The sleeper item is the coffee which puts all surrounding coffee houses to shame.... Yes, it was that good. What sets the restaurant apart is the service team today... super nice. The previous staff was ok. Manager Bill is the BEST! Fiore Pizzeria: excellent pizza. My friend and I shared the cheese pizza and the nduja pizza. The crust on both was excellent. The latter had chili honey on it, which was interesting, but I confirmed that I don't like sweets on my pizza. We also had the limoncello tiramisu, which I had never tried before. Worth trying, but I prefer standard coffee-flavored & cocoa-dusted tiramisu. The pizza here is definitely worth coming back for! Fiore bakery: Their hours are more limited than the pizzeria's, so we came back for this. My son got a sandwich with various sliced meats & very fresh tomatoes, which was large and delicious. My wife and I went there for dinner. The place wasn't very crowded, which is a bad sign for a Friday evening. Wife ordered some kind of stuffed pasta, which was cold when she got it. They did remake it for her, but it still wasn't a good dish. I got the lasagna. It was also not hot but warm enough to eat. It was clear that it had been sitting for a while and was reheated. Also, it was too salty. Service was average to slow. Bar is super limited. Maybe okay if you live in the neighborhood and want to take your kids for pizza but nothing else. read more

We placed a pickup order and never having been there, we were unsure how many pizzas to order for 7 adults. We thought they might be small, so we ended up ordering 6 pizzas and a beet salad to share. We tried the mushroom, the sausage, the pepperoni and the margherita pizza. The mushroom was a huge favorite as well as the pepperoni, but we liked all 4 choices. The salad was very fresh and had great flavor! I would definitely order that again and would have no concerns trying any of the other salads. We probably could have ordered 5 pizzas and still had some leftovers (and who doesn't want leftover pizza!). Next time we are in town, I think it would be worth trying them again and eating in at the restaurant to check out their service and ambiance, plus it will give us the opportunity to try some other dishes! read more

Absolutely love Fiore! It's such a cute, quaint pizzeria with amazing customer service and even better food! One of my favorite starters to order from here is actually the crusty bread with whipped ricotta and honeycomb! The bread literally tastes like it's been infused with butter and the balance between the creamy ricotta and bright honey with that salty butter taste of the bread is perfection! I also love ordering the meatballs! You get two huge meatballs with homemade tomato sauce and they are very tasty and not dry! You can definitely share them or eat them as part of your meal. The kale Caesar salad is another great option for a starter or for a meal with the meatballs as a side! For entree you absolutely must get the Pepperoni or sausage pizza or get a pizza with both lol. It's got a semi-thin crust like I love which is super crispy but still airy and they don't skimp on the toppings. Being a native Chicagoan I also love that it's topped with giardinera which I think adds a nice salty briney contrast to the richness of the cheese and meat. Please ask them to throw a few drops of honey hot sauce on your pizza, you will not regret it! The Pacheri pasta is very tasty and although it's on the smaller side for pasta portions I was actually quite full after eating it. Basically anything you order here is going to be delicious and fresh. They have a very nice bar area, outdoor seating and nice indoor seating for a variety of ambiance options. For drink options the lemoncello or any of their other cocktails (they're not watered down). For a final note, I absolutely love Clayton!!!! He has been are server almost every time we've visited and he is so lovely! He's extremely attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, great with recommending options or fun combos to try out and overall he just has a great personality. First time dining at Fiore. I went there Saturday night with my family. My son talks about this restaurant as he frequents it a lot since he lives in Forest Park, and I finally know why he loves it. The restaurant has a large dining area, bar area and a small bakery & store attached to the restaurant. There's a small outdoor patio as well. The decor is so cool...red, white and grey. The manager, Gael, took me on a little tour back to the kitchen and it was spotless like the rest of the restaurant. I've worked in the food industry before and I've never seen a cleaner kitchen. The staff at Fiore is great, all smiles, and they treat their customers well. Our server was Michelle and she was on top of everything. She was engaging and attentive. The manager Gael treated our table of 5 to grilled bread with whipped ricotta & honeycomb to start. I could've eaten that all night! My son & his girlfriend started ordering and the food explosion began, each dish wow'ing me. The five of us shared everything which was so fun. Every item was full of flavor and so delicious. Everything! We started out with roasted cauliflower with whipped garlic, breadcrumbs & parmesan. Highly recommend this dish! Next we had a couple different Neapolitan pizzas, a classic margherita and their special sweet pepper, Italian sausage, onion & goat cheese pizza. Fiore does pizza well with that amazing charred crust with air bubbles just like I fell in love with in Italy. Next we had a pasta dish with an Italian sausage ragu, pecorino & basil. The pasta was cooked perfectly to al dente and the sausage ragu had a little heat and was very tasty. We finished with two desserts, a classic creamy tiramisu and a blueberry cobbler topped with ice cream. The tiramisu was like none other I've ever had. It was the lightest and creamiest tiramisu. I would just go back for that alone. OK, who am I kidding? I'd go back for that bread and whipped ricotta, the pizza, the pasta ... hell everything else on the menu! Of course, we ended the meal with our family tradition of a limoncello toast in memory of my dad. You have to try the limoncello. Gael makes it himself, and it's one of the best I've had. You can buy it in the little grocery store attached to the restaurant. There really isn't one negative that I can think of from my experience on Saturday. This is hands down some of the best wood fired style pizza in the Chicagoland area, including both city and burbs. For my wife and I, this has been our go to spot since moving to Oak Park. The excellence on the menu goes well beyond pizza though. The roasted chicken, rigatoni, and cauliflower are some of our favorites. If I had to pick one pizza to get it would be the Nduja with an amazing sauce, sausage, and chili honey. The staff are very friendl and helpful and the owner Billy is very welcoming and engaging every time we come in. The main reason I came here was because Glazed and Infused donuts were resurrected at Fiore. For those who don't remember, six or so years ago, Glazed and Infused donuts rules Chicago, before they suddenly closed down when owners decided to focus on restaurants (if I remember correctly). Tasteless and expensive are the two best descriptors for the the paccheri with vodka sauce. First and foremost, let me precurse this by saying that I frequent a host of upscale and fast casual Italian and Italian fusion restaurants, so I have quite a grasp on the concept of smaller portions, in addition to the fact that I personally don't ever eat more than a child's serving of food. However, for a few cents shy of $20, I've gotten more food from Antico Posto and even RPM Italian. Forest Park isn't Oak Park, Oak Brook, or Downtown Chicago, so the price point was just a miss for me. Additionally, even those places offer complimentary bread, but here it's a whole additional fee, and no it's not garlic bread, it's just sliced Italian bread. Furthermore, the flavor...what flavor? Whomever is back there making sauces may need a refresher on the mother sauces before they ambitiously try to tackle a vodka sauce. It was completely bland, tasted like canned marinara with water and alot of red pepper, and the basil was not fresh (we grow basil and make our own pesto so I know the difference between heat wilted basil vs. old basil). Overall this was the worst experience ever and 1/2 made it into the trash. read more

Went to @fiorepizzeria for a quick brunch. The Bloody Mary bar is top notch. So many options it could get overwhelming. The number of hot sauces and salts allowed me to get just the flavor I was looking for. The meatball (not pictured) was great. My burrata and prosciutto was exactly what is sounds like. There was pesto on it but most was under the cheese so it late into eating when I found it. Pizza crust was fire roasted and had a good chew. Cute little brunch spot. read more

I'm not sure what happened with that cauliflower dish--massive, and strangely bland--but everything else we tried at Fiore, including pizza, calamari, and the excellent cookies from the bakery, were all fantastic. The music was a little loud, but we otherwise enjoyed the space for an early dinner on a Monday (5:30 PM). And the service was excellent. We ordered some pizzas, meatballs and arancini from Fiore after our initial dinner plans fell through. The meatballs and arancini were really fresh tasting... and I'm super picky when it comes to meatballs that aren't home made! We took our food to go and while the pizza was tasty, it was pretty dry but that might have been due in part to how cold it got on the drive home. The dry pizza wasn't a dealbreaker, I think we'd just order differently next time. Overall, good food and quality service! read more

I had been hearing a lot about Fiore so one day needed some dinner options and decided to give it a try. Ordered 2 pizzas, the meatballs with whipped ricotta and also the burrata and prosciutto. Wow - even though it was a carry out order, it traveled well and was delicious! Slightly salty on the mushroom and leek pizza (perhaps due to the Parmesan on top?), but overall really good and I'd order again. The pizza crust was a nice blend of slightly charred and also doughy while I would say the meatball and burrata was a standout. The meatball order was large and if anything, I wanted more of it. Perfectly cooked and the ricotta and marinara was a great accompaniment. Burrata and prosciutto with toast - I could have eaten that all day. There was a bit of pesto to round out the dish, but it was rich and so wonderful. I thought the burrata was especially good - the 'shell' was not too hard and the inside was wonderfully creamy. I can see why this pot got popular in a short period of time. Aside from a bit more salt than I'd like on the one pizza, it was wonderful and we will definitely order again. read more

This has been my favorite spot for Italian in Forest Park since moving here last year, but this visit fell a little short. The starters and desserts were good, but the pastas (with the exception of the ravioli) were all really, really heavily salted, to the point that everyone wasn't able to finish their entrees. Not sure if it was a one night fluke, but it seems like some of the recipes/standards may have changed recently, as my last visit had a similar turnout. Finding an authentic Neopolitan/Naples-style pizza is not easy in the Chicagoland area. Hubby has been on a search far and wide, all the while attempting to make his/our own with our DIY brick oven. But this place got it right. It's crazy because they don't even advertise their pizza as their signature piece, yet it is the best brick oven pizza we've had thus far. You know it is good brick oven pizza by the cell structure, leopard style crust, and (according to the waitress and owner) the fact that they proof the dough for 3 days. Every bite of the Margherita Fiore pizza was delicious. We got seated immediately, despite it being a busy Saturday. The waitress was attentive, answered our questions about menu items, and took the time to inform us about how long the restaurant proofs the dough for pizza. Our drinks were served quickly (if you like cocktails, get the Dandy Corleone...I had two of these because they were so yummy!). And who can forget two eye-catchers: the gorgeous red Vespa up front (yes, we had to take a pic) and the beautiful and somewhat funny pizza mural in front of the bathrooms. The place was hopping, and I'm glad we took the chance to try out a new place. Will definitely be back! In the meantime, save us another slice! read more

I visited Fiore for the first time on a recent weekday evening. I liked the food and staff, but the ambiance was so-so. VIBE: We checked out the dining room, but it was pretty noisy even though not at all full (the noise level got worse by the time we left). So we sat outdoors. The noise from Madison St was annoying, but survivable. SERVICE: All the staff we encountered were upbeat, cordial and helpful. Pizza came out before we had finished our salad, but only by a few minutes. Our server was quite busy, by mostly attentive to our requests. FOOD: A kale Caesar salad was fresh and delicious, and the anchovies were easy to fish out (my companion likes them; me, not so much). A special BLT pizza was tasty and well-balanced; not quite thin crust, not Neapolitan, but tender-crisp. The beer and wine menus are compact but well put-together, with good choices for all the dishes on the menu. I'd give Fiore 4* if the noise were not so prominent. Since noise is an issue for me, though, I'll say 3*. I may not be back, certainly not for indoor dining. read more
