I come here multiple times a week, but today's experience was completely different--and not in a good way. When I walked in, I greeted everyone with a friendly hello, but no one acknowledged me as a customer. I politely asked if more pizza would be coming out, and no one responded. The restaurant was strangely silent. After waiting, I said "excuse me" and asked again if another pizza was coming out, but the employee acted as if I hadn't spoken at all. Meanwhile, one employee was sitting in the back on his phone, two cooks were simply walking around the cooking area, and another employee appeared to be on a personal phone call in the front. Despite several staff members being present, no one seemed interested in helping customers. Customer service is what keeps people coming back. People want to feel welcomed, acknowledged, and appreciated when they spend their money at a business. Unfortunately, that was not my experience today. Because of the poor customer service and lack of basic courtesy, I will not be returning. I will also be sharing my experience with my neighbors, my children, and their friends. There are plenty of restaurants that value their customers, and I would rather support businesses that treat people with respect. read more

Food may be fine, but I cannot get past the UP charge of 6.50 for a 4-5 inch piece of garlic bread. That's insane. Side of "meat"balls was only an extra $4.95. Be still my heart. Also, the chicken wings were more like Cornish game hen wings, with several only the size of my thumb even with the excessive breading. Very dissatisfied and disappointed with a long standing-place in Oak Park. With food like this and deceptive images (probably stock photos), it likely won't, or shouldn't be, be standing for long.... I welcome Cuzco's to correct me on their images and also to state that their cannoli are made in-house, which I would be amazed to hear. read more

I got a large slice of pizza (tad bit smaller than Bacci's) and a half portion of penne pasta with vodka sauce. I paid $12 in total which isn't bad at all! Your slice of pizza comes with a drink of choice - can't forget that. The pizza was good but I know if I would've gotten it fresh out the oven, it would've been fire. The pasta... baby get it! I hadn't had Cuzzos since I was a kid and I have so many regrets after ordering them the other night. Their pizza is delicious!!!! Made me feel like I was a kid at a pizza party. The right amount of grease...the sausage had so much flavor....and the sauce? Man, they know how to throw down a solid pizza. I loved the plain chicken wings - I had my own sauces to dip them in. The staff was really nice! He offered to slice my pizza again (who can really it a slice without folding or cutting!?) He was very nice and friendly. He even threw in some cookies for free. I'm coming out of my quarantine Yelp sabbatical specifically to write this review. I had such a positive experience with Cuzzo's that I feel obligated to share. To set the stage I like to think of myself as a seasoned pizza veteran, I've been obsessed since a young age. I worked in a pizza shop earlier in life doing everything from making the dough to topping and baking the pies. I've traveled to NYC on more than one occasion solely to do pizza tours. I've tried most top ranked pizza joints in New York, the big names in Chicago, all of the key players in Detroit and I've eaten my way through Maryland, D.C., Virginia, New Jersey, LA, San Francisco, Austin, Florence, Rome, Milan, and Venice (just to name a few). I have to say that Cuzzo's plain, cheese pizza is among the best in the game. Super thin, crispy, and buttery crust. The sauce tasted of fresh tomatoes. The cheese was loaded and had great flavor. Even with a heavy layer of cheese the crust was firm and there was zero flop. Just an incredible simple pie that doesn't need to be masked with toppings. I had this pizza shipped from Chicago to Maryland during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Packaged with dry ice the pizza was still frozen/cold upon arrival. The employees at Cuzzo's were very easy to deal with and were appreciative of the business we brought them. This is a family owned shop that prides themselves on fresh quality and solid hospitality. I'm looking forward to continuing to support this business and I can't wait for the pandemic to end so I can hop on a plane and go eat it in person! read more

Having a friendly gathering to attend, I wanted to pick up a couple local pizza pies for sharing. Cuzzo's popped up as a local option and I entered an order ahead of time. Had I the time to cruise reviews I may have opted for something that could have shown me their scope of capability, being that they use old family recipes. Anything other than pizza, family favorite pastas for instance. There is a video posted by the owner that should be watched, at least to give an impression of their outlook and abilities. I wasn't much impressed with the atmosphere. It was a cold day and it was felt indoors. The place looks more like a fast food eatery than a casual sit-down. Based on the video created by the owner I would expect a casual Italian eatery that serves up Momma & Nonna's recipes. Not the case. Okay for their first try at the restaurant business, hopefully the owner decides to up his design game. The spot looks like it would better suit a currency exchange or convenience store. My order was placed and picked up within 35 minutes. A small 3 topping pie. My final destination was mere blocks away but the pizza was already cooled. If I were to, try them again in the future, I might consider requesting a "hot" pie or "well done." (If they offer the option. Well done will usually result in a crispy crust and slightly browned cheese.) Pizza was okay. Crust was between a thin and a pan, as per what the order-taker reported. If getting pizza, I would order a specialty fo'sho. But next time, I hope to try a pasta. read more

Love the neighborhood pizza joint on the corner. The cheese is always cooked perfectly on those little pizza squares and triangles. Even the slice options are a great deal on the go. I've also had their pasta and it's piping out and good. I had the meatballs and they're great. I recommend this one for pasta. I went bold and got that Italian beef pizza and it was not bad too. I've ordered from this place a few times. Tonight I was in the basement and did not hear my phone. The delivery guy was ringing the door bell like a maniac and ran upstairs. He looked like he wanted to murder me. The pizzas were in the floor and I noticed the cheese coming out of the corner of the box. I apologized and he grunted and handed me the boxes. Here is what I got. This was enough for me to Take my business somewhere else. It's not that cheap especially when I'm paying 3.50 for delivery and the. Tipping 15% on top of that. Update I spoke to the manager called me yesterday as I was looking up their phone number. It couldn't have been longer than 5 minutes after posting ''tis review. He was sincere about What had occurred and he wanted to make it right by sending out new pies. I told him it was not necessary. About 10 minutes later the driver called me and the conversation was what it was. About 30 minutes later my doorbell rang and a familiar face was there with the pies apologizing once again. This was one of the familiar drivers I've seen several times in the past. It was a very nice gesture but very unnecessary. It's way more food than we know what to do with so I offered it to my neighbors. Although the restaurant was extremely accommodating and extremely understanding, this has escalated further than necessary. In closing, now that Ive cooled down, the original driver unlocked my backyard gate. I let the dogs out later after speaker to manager and did t realize it. My son and I have gone here since he was a baby. Most of the food in Oak Park is so so at best. We both love the food here. Prices are reasonable too. The best thing about Cuzzos is the service. Been curious about this place for awhile and a Groupon put me over the top to give it a try. Was anxious to try the pizza and the beef since those are two staples of Chicago food and Cuzzo's has them both. So I ordered a slice of sausage pizza and a combo to go. The pizza came with a soda or water and the combo came with fries - which I'd rather have ordered ala carte and gone without the fries for less dinero. I had enough food already! Here's the "verdict". The pizza was OK but too greasy for my taste. There's dozens of places to find a better slice. Now, the Italian beef / sausage combo was pretty good. Sausage was tasty and extended through the whole sandwich. Beef had good flavor as well and the peppers I had on it were perfect - cooked exactly as they should be with great flavor. These kind of reminded me of the peppers that the old "Connie's" on North near Mobile used to have. Big thumbs up on that - I'm likely to go back for another one of those sandwiches. So overall - three stars. They do offer some other dishes, such as pasta. Maybe I'll try those at some point and see if they boost the star rating... or take it down. read more
