Fiorentina Steakhouse has quickly become a staple. It didn't take long because the concept felt fresh and unique for the area. I love being able to recommend a steakhouse that dry ages its own meats right here in the neighborhood. Yesterday, we were a bit pressed for time, so we ordered the lamb chops, skirt steak, and, of course, a nice bottle of wine. Everything was fantastic. The lamb chops were phenomenal, easily among the best I've had at any restaurant. They were incredibly flavorful, tender, and cooked to perfection. I'm usually not someone who enjoys eating the fat on meat, but the fat on these chops was rendered so beautifully that I found myself eating every bite. There wasn't a single chewy or unpleasant piece. I normally order the porterhouse or ribeye, but the skirt steak was an excellent choice when I wanted something leaner and quicker to enjoy without sacrificing flavor. The fried potato salad is another standout. It's a unique side that's absolutely worth ordering. And then there's the peppercorn sauce served with the lamb chops. It's a total mic drop. I honestly can't put into words how good it is. I found myself dipping everything in it (even my fingers ). It's that delicious! Fiorentina continues to impress every time we visit, and it's become one of my favorite places to recommend for a great steak dinner. read more

We visited to celebrate both a graduation and a birthday, and overall had a nice experience. The service was excellent and really helped make the occasion feel special. The lemon drop was outstanding, perfectly balanced and one of the best parts of the meal. The calamari was a 10/10: fresh, crispy, and very flavorful. The crab cake was also impressive, with about 99% crab and very little filler. For my entrée, I ordered the salmon. The fish itself was fresh and clearly high quality, but it lacked seasoning and flavor. It was also a little dry for my taste. The glaze was good and had a lot of potential, but there simply wasn't enough of it to bring the dish together. The broccoli rabe was well seasoned, perhaps even slightly over-seasoned, but it was quite bitter. The dish comes with asparagus and I don't eat that so I can't comment on the taste. On a positive note, my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her penne alla vodka. While not every dish was a home run, there were enough highlights to make the meal enjoyable. Warm bread and butter is brought out as soon as you sit. It was great. We ordered a bottle of wine, had two appetizers-the octopus and the calamari-both were incredible. For entrees we ordered the skirt steak and the lamb chops. We also got a side of lobster mac and cheese. We did not have dessert but got a cappuccino and espresso after we ate. We came here for Christmas and had a good experience overall. They were offering a prix fixe menu that included appetizers, entrées, and dessert. There were five of us, and the appetizers were served family-style, so we essentially ordered one of each to share. Our least favorite appetizer was the shrimp cocktail, but the mandarin salad was amazing. I'm a big salad person, and a good salad really goes a long way for me--this one definitely delivered. The entrées were ehhh okay, nothing to rave about, and the vegetables were served family-style as well, which we appreciated since it allowed everyone to share and try a bit of everything. I heard about a new Steakhouse opening up in the Bronx a while back. Being a Bronx-Born Native, I knew I'd have to eventually check-it out. On a bright and sunny Fall afternoon, I finally ventured out to Fiorentina Steakhouse for lunch with friends, and my experience lived up to all I had heard about this gem of an addition to the Bronx! Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by the staff into the welcoming, and tastefully designed space. Although we arrived shortly after they opened, and 3 out of 4 people in our party opted for the ridiculously priced amazing Lunch Specials, our service was 5 star, as I would expect from a dining establishment known for serving steak! For lunch, I ordered a chicken dish (don't hate on me for that!) My husband ordered the Prixe-Fixe special, and opted for the Fillet Mignon (surcharge for this option.) It was cooked to his desired Medium Rare preference, and very flavorful. Our friends ordered a Skirt Steak, and Pastrami Sandwich, which they both thoroughly enjoyed:) Their steak sauce is also quite tasty, although the steak could stand on its own without missing it. I came here for a large celebratory dinner and had a pretty good experience. The ambiance and customer service were on point. The price point is on par with the well-known steakhouses in Manhattan; no concessions were made for them actually being the Bronx. The food was overall solid with the highest group ratings given to the LAMB CHOPS entrée and GRILLED OCTOPUS appetizer. On the other hand, STEAK TARTARE appetizer and LOBSTER MAC & CHEESE side dish were misses. Honestly, all of their lobster dishes only contain a sprinkling of lobster crumble which was underwhelming to say the least. The PORTERHOUSE FOR TWO was cooked to exact temperature requested but lacked the characteristic flavor of a truly dry aged steak. An honorable mention goes out to the bartender on duty. All of the cocktails were enjoyed by the group. I highly recommend the LOVE POTION for all of my lychee lovers. As I planned my month of celebration, everything was set in place three weeks prior... guest list & reservation were made and all I had to do was wait for the date. Just so happens there was hiccup that required a change of venue. Feeling the pressure I was searching for a spot that would accommodate a party of 13 on a Tuesday with a variety of samplings and without menu limitations (ie: required pre-fix). As I searched and enlisted some fellow foodies I came across Fiorentina Steakhouse. I was very excited for an establishment close to home, allowing me to avoid the logistics of driving into the city. As I scrolled the reviews I came across fellow Yelper Pat F.'s review and decided let's give FS a try. I called and spoke with Danny, who was accommodating, allowing my large party to have access to the full menu. On the day of my dinner, I woke up to a snowstorm (NYC In February), and was sure I would have to cancel. Once again Danny provided excellent service providing me with two alternate dates as well as allowing me the opportunity to make the final decision 2 hours before my reservation time. Thankfully, Mother Nature conceded and we carried on as planned. I arrived to a warmly light bar to the left of the entrance and dining to my right. My party was already seated in the front along the wall of windows. With white table linen and the super attentive alternating wait staff we were in for a nice dining experience in Throggs Neck. We started with tasty cocktails and warm bread (I'm Sucka for carbs). For the appetizers ordered... salad, crab cake, fried calamari, baked clams and tuna tartare. All was good, however no one was a fan of the tuna tartare. However, I ordered the grilled octopus and I could not be more than pleased. It was grilled to perfection, not gummy, tender with great flavor. For the entrées there were several selections made from chicken parm, a couple of steak selections, including the porter house for two. Needless to say I don't eat meat. Yes I choose a steakhouse and do not eat red meat or pork, so I ordered the sea bass with mashed potatoes. It was pretty much unanimous that my sea bass and the lamb chops were the tables top choices for the best entrée for the night. Overall a wonderful experience that I was grateful to share with all that joined me for the evening. Fiorentina Steakhouse is a dinning experience worth checking out in Throggs Neck (Bronx, NY). Had my anniversary dinner here with the fam last week. The ambiance is meh, service was good, staff checked in on us regularly. Most of the food was good, my filet mignon was well cooked and tasty as was the NY strip my son and husband had. Hubs and son said the octopus was just "ok" a bit undercooked. My tuna tartar(sp) was "ok" as well. Our sides of mash and Brussel sprouts were good, as were the fries. Prices are high, which I'm just fine with as long as the food is worth it. My girlfriend and I went to Fiorentina Steakhouse for the second time. They sat us down very quickly and the waiter was very polite and very well dressed. The restaurant's atmosphere was well lit and comfortable, with tables being placed close yet far enough apart to lose yourself in conversation with the person you're with. The food came out quickly and was very flavorful. I would recommend the skirt stake, it was so tender and the mashed potatoes were fluffy. Super happy to find a good steakhouse in the area that has an upscale feel without being stuffy and boring. I've already been back twice! I've been to most of NYC's top rated steakhouses and Fiorentina is saving me a trip into Manhattan when I'm in the mood for a good steak. Each time I've been to Fiorentina, the steak has been cooked perfectly. I've had the ribeye, and the ny strip, both were great. The calamari is hit or miss. Twice it was great. Tasted fresh, fried nice and crispy. The tartar sauce and marinara that it comes with it is really good. Once was a total miss but it didn't ruin the meal or anything. I'm not one to send dishes back but an older couple seated next to us did send theirs back with no issue from their waiter. Biggest miss here was the lobster mac and cheese. We didn't see any lobster so we thought they brought us regular mac and cheese by mistake. Waiter ensured us there was lobster in it and we did find a few small chunks but there were more shells than actual lobster. Mashed potatoes are perfectly cooked, texture and everything spot on except a bit bland for my taste. Creamed spinach was good, again just a little bland for me. But still good. Drinks were great! I'm not even a big drinker but i find myself wanting to go back for the steak and drinks specifically. The sides are the only reason I dropped a star. Service has been top notch every time I've been there. Other dishes look good too, I'm hoping to try others but it's hard not to order a steak here when they cook them so perfectly. read more

Fiorentina Steakhouse, has been on my radar for some time! Glad we finally got there. We were greeted when we walked in, and seated promptly. They have a small bar area, and a nice size dining area. Our server was Joe. He was extremely professional and attentive to us. We started with drinks, of course! They brought out a nice warm basket of rolls. The butter had a sweet taste to it. I read it was an apple cider butter. It was delicious! We then had a wedge salad that was a perfect size for sharing! We went with the porterhouse for two, and mashed potatoes. Finally - a worthy steakhouse in the Bronx! Comparable to any of the big names in the city, Fiorentina's does not disappoint. I've been to more than my fair share of steakhouses in NYC, Benjamin's, Westside, STK, Del Frisco's, Capital Grille, etc., and I have to say, that the Rib-eye that I just enjoyed was probably better seasoned than at most of those locations, and definitely cooked just as well. My wife had the veal chop and she could not stop expressing her pleasure with the consistency, taste, cut and texture. The sides were phenomenal and the appetizers before that were just as good. Just as good as the food - the service. Upon entering for the first time, the reception by the host was almost like greeting someone who's company you enjoy. Abi, our server was a pleasure. Have you ever had a server who seemed to be at your table precisely when you realized you wanted him there, but left you alone to enjoy your meal without feeling smothered? Abi has this down to a science, and even the busboys are brilliantly understated as they go about bringing plates and water, and removing used dishes and utensils without one hardly noticing they are there. All in all, it was a wonderfully seamless dinner experience. The wife and I gave it a shot and it turns out they made our anniversary quite memorable in the meal front. I would recommend Fiorentina's to anyone who wants the class and atmosphere of an upscale steakhouse, without the mandatory trip into the city or some other terribly overpriced, niche location in Brooklyn or Queens. It was a Wednesday evening, I decided to bring my wife to dinner to celebrate some recent good news we both received. We've driven by Fiorentina Steakhouse on East Tremont Avenue several times. During the evening hours, the restaurant showcases a dimly lit dining area with wait staff, servers and the hostess dressed in formal attire which elevates the overall ambiance. When patrons walk into a restaurant, the staff and servers are among the first people they encounter. Server appearance contributes significantly to the first impression of any restaurant. Our server, Arber, was the stellar example of what every person in the hospitality industry should aspire to be: confident with his knowledge of the menu, patient, understanding how to read the table. For example, if my wife and I were in the midst of a conversation, his timing to interject was almost coordinated to avoid unnecessary interruption. The next part....The Food. The Food. THE FOOD! - Blue Point Oysters served on ice w/ cocktail sauce and mignonette. They were super fresh and delicious. - Grilled Octopus - I selected this appetizer based on another review but it just didn't hit the same way for me as it did with my Yelp counterpart. It's good but I'll pass on it next time. - Baby Lacinato Kale - Pickled butternut squash, beets, green apple, goat cheese, spicy candy cashews, chard, lemon vinaigrette. My wife's choice and she thought it was fresh, colorful, and full of flavor. - 2 NY Strip Steaks (medium-rare & medium-well) Result: cooked to perfection, served on a piping-hot plate with simmering melted butter and steak juices. Absolutely delicious! There's a house steak sauce that's available but totally unnecessary because the steak is that good by itself. Only feedback is, the sauce should be served at room temperature rather than chilled to help preserve the steak temp. - Creamed Spinach - I would order this 10x over. If you enjoy creamed spinach, make this one of your sides. - Brussel Sprouts - very good but not my favorite side. I expected a bit more flavor. - Potato Purée (a.k.a smooth mashed potatoes) - were very good and really complements the steak. - Corn Crème Brûlée - it's exactly what it says, a creamy corn custard with a torched caramelized shell. We took a flyer on this steakhouse because I love steak fiorentina, and I don't know a single restaurant in CT that makes it. Didn't know anyone who had ever been there, didn't know what to expect. We were very pleased overall. Food and ambience were generally excellent. I started with a shaved cauliflower salad that was crunchy and creative and excellent. Others had different salads and were all pleased. For mains, I had the steak fiorentine which was very very good although not as crusty as I'd like. I'd give it a 4.5. Others had salmon (OK but you can get salmon anywhere so why ... topic for another day), chicken scarp and a shellfish dish (I forget which). Side of fries was excellent (as was the bread service). Dessert was OK - a little on the smaller side but at $10 it made sense and I had eaten enough already anyway. My one other criticism had to do with a reservation mixup. We booked online well in advance got confirmation, but the reservation somehow didn't show up in their system. That happens and we understood that we would not be able to be seated immediately as the place was packed. We were seated about 25 minutes late and had to wait in the small bar area at the front of the restaurant. It would have been appropriate to offer us a drink or some type of accommodation for the wait. But overall I would recommend. read more
