Ordered my burger MEDIUM and it came back RARE. The second time this has happened in last two visits here

Terrible unfortunately. This is the second time I've come here in six months and BOTH times my meat was undercooked. The last time I ordered a New York strip medium and it came back rare. This time I ordered a simple burger medium and it too came back from the kitchen RARE. The service by the waitress was great and she was very apologetic and it's not her fault but for the prices charged at Jake's the kitchen has to do better. This place was really good years ago but they have definitely gone down hill food wise. I absolutely won't be back.

Valet parking is key and makes all the difference. Lovely establishment that made 25 years in an industry that turn over is high. Beautifully kept and nice crowd. Drinks are potent staff is exceptionally friendly.was the food delicious yes unfortunately or main courses were cold ; the only one that was hot was my daughter's seems like an entree was forgotten and rushed. Our appetizers were on point so this was disappointing. We were hungry and didn't want to have everything recooked so we made due. It was a shame because the flavor and quality is there.

Special on the menu:grilled boneless prime rib with broccoli and creamed spinach( I substituted the potato croquettes with creamed spinach)

I went here last night with my dad and I have to say this was a great dining experience. We had a 7pm reservation but we showed up at 6:15 and they seated us. We were seated upstairs. I don't remember the name of our server(sorry) but he was excellent. We had the calamari appetizer and the Caesar salad, both of which were great. For our dinners, I had the special grilled boneless prime rib. I substituted the potatoes croquettes with creamed spinach. My father had the lamb chops with a side of lobster Mac and cheese. I really enjoyed my food. The creamed spinach tasted like there was a sharp cheese in there, which was great. My father really enjoyed his lamb chops and Mac and cheese. For our desserts, I had another special:apple caramel cheese cake and my dad had the tiramisu. No complaints from with of us. It was great. It's nice to treat yourself every once in a while, and if you feel like treating yourself, go to Jake's.

My Boyfriend and I came here for our Anniversary dinner. We had an amazing time. We did the Prixe fix menu and it did not disappoint. Mac and cheese which is on the regular menu we did for an appetizer and it was delicious. Our server was very kind and the aesthetic was great. We so look forward to coming here again.

The food is great and it's been great for years! Classic spot, great service. You can sit at the bar, catch a game and some bites, or do a more classic table cloth dinner. Always happy to visit.

I dined here the other day and was disappointed. The ambiance is very nice. But my food did not rise to the same level. I ordered calamari. It was tough and rubbery. My entrée was skirt steak, mashed potatoes and assorted vegetables. My whole plate was room temperature. Bordering on cold. Yes I could have sent it back but, that's always scary AND I was famished. The wedge salad was the star. Blue cheese, bacon crumbles and crisp lettuce. Delish. For desert I had their bread pudding. Nope. It was more like a cute slice of almost raisin bread that was dunked long enough to soak up flavored liquid (bread pudding juice). Shaking my head. No bueño. The ice cream that accompanied it was good though. On a scale of 1-5 I'll give my meal a 2. Staff deserved better. They get a 5. I planned to take my nieces there for our luncheon but, I have to find another venue.

Great spot with plenty of seating. This place has and upstairs and downstairs. As well as a bar area. Came here a whiel ago for a quick dinner for two. The service was great very attentive. My partner and I got the steak for two and we got a side of veggies as well as an order of shrimp. The shrimp was good. The steak although it was juicy and tender my partner felt the steak wasn't as seasoned as he would have liked it to be. The cocktail was good. I can see this being a great family spot for a group Or an intimate dinner. I would probably go back to try other stuff on the menu.

First time going to this location. Reminded me of a colonial building with the wooden staircases. All the guests were enjoying themselves and having lively conversations when we reached the top floor of the restaurant. Now to the food...I had the mussels marinara it was OK. The marinara did not have any seasoning and the mussels seemed as though they were overcooked. It was hard to get a full mussel in its shell. I thoroughly enjoyed the wedge salad and the onion soup was very good. The brownie was good as well. My sister loved her meal , which was the shrimp scampi and the bread pudding for dessert. Another friend loved the Chilean Seabass, unfortunately she did not like the house salad. She said the leaves were wilted. She enjoyed the cheesecake. We all had the coffee and it was very good, nice and strong.

So we have been here before, and loved it. We felt like keeping it local, and I honestly felt like Lobster Tails. The service was excellent! We started out with drinks. I had the Crème Brûlée Martini, my husband just had a Vodka and Tonic. We then split, the Clams Oreganato, which were so Dry!! Omg think they forgot to add Butter. It was all bread crumbs. Then I had the Twin Lobster Tails, which I thought was good. Cooked perfectly. My husband had the dry aged rib eye, which was full of nerves!! For $80.00?? And we got a side of the mash potatoes that were dry as well. I took 1 fork full. We left them. We don't normally complain or throw prices into the mix, but for $250.00 with the tip for that??? Come on Jake's you can do better.

first time at a bronx steakhouse! the food was very salty and mids. for starters i got buffalo chicken wings and those barely had any buffalo sauce on it! i was disappointed by the wings it was not that good the french fries were very salty and not crispy as preferred. the star of the show was the garlic mashed potato's and those were an absolute hit! on the other hand, the steak was cooked medium well but it was exceptionally dry and way too salty. i was not a fan. now here's the issue for me, the ambiance was too loud and rowdy. there was a group of 10+ people being obnoxiously loud. the hostess heard the commotion and was making faces at us in dismay and she still sat us right next to that large group. there was plenty of seating downstairs and not once did she offer an alternative despite her complaining about the noise to us! make it make sense i wont come here again and would rather cook my own steak. forget the food, for the price point, the service and ambiance is not worth it. I love being able to recommend a steakhouse that dry ages its own meats right here in the neighborhood. Yesterday, we were a bit pressed for time, so we ordered the lamb chops, skirt steak, and, of course, a nice bottle of wine. Everything was fantastic. The lamb chops were phenomenal, easily among the best I've had at any restaurant. They were incredibly flavorful, tender, and cooked to perfection. I'm usually not someone who enjoys eating the fat on meat, but the fat on these chops was rendered so beautifully that I found myself eating every bite. There wasn't a single chewy or unpleasant piece. I normally order the porterhouse or ribeye, but the skirt steak was an excellent choice when I wanted something leaner and quicker to enjoy without sacrificing flavor. The fried potato salad is another standout. It's a unique side that's absolutely worth ordering. And then there's the peppercorn sauce served with the lamb chops. It's a total mic drop. I honestly can't put into words how good it is. I found myself dipping everything in it (even my fingers ). It's that delicious! Fiorentina continues to impress every time we visit, and it's become one of my favorite places to recommend for a great steak dinner.

Home Bx…read morewas packed, with only a few tables remaining and all the flatscreens and a new screen behind where the live entertainment plays, broadcasting the England victory over Norway and the Argentina victory over Switzerland. It had been a while since I had been here and I was focused on the number one item on the menu: the 50oz bone in Cote de Boeuf, always medium rare, which I believe is one of the best values for carnivores in town. Once seated in the corner near the front window, I perused their new menu off the new menu from the QR code. I noticed the pork belly over chickpeas and ordered that along with a glass of red sangria. Irma took my order and I explained I wanted a fruity non fortified red sangria. It was very good. Irma forgot the bread and butter they usually serve and they brought it later after her shift ended, but left it out of my to go bag. The pork belly was very good and so crisp. The serrated steak knife was necessary. The fat was largely rendered out, but still present between the crackling skin and the savory meat underneath. It was two thick slabs over the chickpeas and a substantial appetizer for 16 bucks. Some appetites could enjoy this as a main with a salad and be fine. That would not be me this evening. I ordered the Cote de Boeuf medium rare, which comes with grilled onions and two sides, which I chose the whipped potatoes and the asparagus, the latter new to the menu. I also ordered the Lobster Mac and Cheese as an extra, which is now served with Gruyere as an additional cheese to the mix. The Gruyere is new and it adds a sharpness juxtaposed with the sweet lobster meat and puts this over the top for me. They adjoined the neighboring free table and presented the steak sizzling and pre-cut nicely from the kitchen. I tried to take a video of that moment without success. I told them to hold all the sauces they offer and just bring the citrus salt. This magnificent cut only needs the citrus salt and nothing more; though, you will find those grilled onions go well with this cut. At $125 for this hunk of bone in excellence, this is one of the best cuts served in NYC at an irrefutably great value, with the sides included, save for the Lobster Mac and Cheese. So juicy and flavorsome highlighted with the citrus salt, that pink center with the ring is evident of what the skillful chefs can do here at Home Bx. The steak at Home Bx may be aged, dry or wet, I cannot confirm; however, the edge goes to less than a handful of the other steakhouses for flavor, but none at this price. The whipped potatoes are great and are the perfect accomplishment for steak. I don't know why the whipped potatoes are served modestly for such a large steak, but they are very good. The asparagus, new to the menu, are about six large spears and are not overcooked. The salt and juice runoff from the steak go well with the asparagus counterpoint. The Lobster Mac and Cheese deserves repeat mention, with the addition of Gruyere cheese. It now has more refined and balanced flavor, with the sharp Gruyere and sweet lobster playing off each other. The Lobster Mac and Cheese is a must have here. It's that good, goes well with the steak, especially with the Gruyere, and it will be the only side not included with that 50oz tender steak. 4.3 stars! Stay tuned for part two of this review. I ordered the new pork chop on the menu and the roast chicken to go.

You cannot order a fresh carafe or pitcher of sangria with the fruit in it here, which is what I was expecting from a place headlining sangria. So your experience of the Sangria Cafe for sangria will come down to whether you like yours fortified. I like my sangria freshly made to order with just the wine and chopped fruit, but you may have a better experience at Sangria Cafe if you prefer fortified sangria. So the Manager, Elios, was superb. He told me he would let me taste the red, white and lychee versions to see which one I preferred. Given they are all fortified to an extent, I chose to order margaritas. I prefer mezcal margaritas, but they did not have mezcal at the time. So I went with the tequila classic. It was good and I had it to go for my evening at a cigar lounge. I also ordered food to go: the French cut pork chops with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus and the braised beef short rib with small potatoes and broccoli. Here's a twist: the food was better than the adult beverage at a place emphasizing the latter. At all times, my server, Hector, was superb in his own right. Service is probably the strong suit at Sangria Cafe, followed by the food. The French cut pork chops taste like they have been marinated or at least brined. You will eat these down to the bone and you will pick up those bones to clean them. The garlic mashed potatoes were great too, but the asparagus was a bit overcooked. On balance, this $30 dish was satisfying and would have been better had they included a little gravy on the side for the mashed potatoes. The beef short rib at $38 was even tastier. I appreciate the chef took the time to get a good cut of short rib and trimmed the excess fat down to a leaner cut. The meat is inherently marbled with fat, so the flavor is already going to be as present as the savory tenderness. If you dine at a restaurant where there is excess fat on the beef short rib, know the chef there is not putting in the work to trim all that fat. Coudos to the chefs in the Sangria Cafe kitchen for their trimming work. This is even better than the pork chops and you'll savor every bite. The broccoli was overcooked here, so the chefs could restrain themselves on the cooking time for the veggies. The small potatoes were perfect and what is not to like about marbled beef and potatoes. Here they have a little gravy with cooked onions to add to the savory pleasure. The Sangria Cafe is a great place to come with friends. This place will see lots of action as the weather warms. The atmosphere is upbeat and the music is in full swing. This is a Latino and Afro Latino crowd. The kitchen and service are very good here. Perhaps I'm in the minority preferring nonfortified sangria, but I wish that were an option with the chopped fruit in it. Perhaps the majority prefers the fortified hit, but it would be nice to have it more relaxed with just the wine as summer approaches or at any time of the year. Please keep the mezcal in stock as SOP for the mezcal margs. Thanks to Elios, Hector and the chefs in the kitchen. 3.5 stars.

We pull up, walk in and just stand for a bit as there isn't a hostess stand or hostess. The gentleman behind the bar then greats us and states we can't sit anywhere. After sitting for about 5mins my BF asks me if there's a QR code to scan because we still didn't have menus. I ask the same gentleman if there's a brunch menu and he then brings over menus. There isn't a brunch menu nor are bottomless mimosas offered. Even though what we were looking for wasn't available we decided to stay. The gentleman behind the bar was doing everything besides cooking LOL. He took our orders, served the food and made our drinks. A waitress didn't arrive until we were closing out our check. For apps we had beef empanadas and broiled clams. The clams were amazing!!! The sauce was amazing!!! For my meal I had the round steak w/ onions and my BF had the twin porkchops. The porkchops were some of the smallest I've ever seen to the point it didn't look like it was actually two. The porkchops were flavorful but he was still hungry after finishing the plate. I also had a whiskey sour which without a doubt was the BEST whiskey sour I've ever had. The gentleman that waited on us was very nice.
