Preet greeted me and made some friendly suggestions after hearing I was new to Indian food. It was all so good and flavorful. The samosas stood out and the accompanying sauces made them so good. My mom and I have been patiently waiting for this place to open- it did not disappoint! As much as I love my tacos and pizza, I'm glad we have other food options available on Grand finally! We had the chicken masala and the tikka chicken. The chicken was incredibly tender, filled with flavor and a hefty portion amount! If you're a fan of chai tea- delicious. Second time eating here tonight and it was excellent! It was much spicier than the last time we ate there so I do hope they allow spice adjustments in the future as our family has a mix of zero to six level spice lovers. My favorites are the samosas (first try tonight and they are my new fav dish), curry fries (would love for curry to be served on the side for to-go orders), and the chicken tiki. We have now tried all Naan options and all are fantastic! Mixed drinks are devine, good wine selection, 24 tap options, cool art, and pool tables! I really hope they thrive because it is the best Indian food for a very long distance. We get a few others delievered online and this is the best by far! We were so excited to try this place ever since we heard it was opening--and I'm happy to say it did not disappoint! The mixed drinks were absolutely delicious--not overly sweet, just the right balance of flavors. You can tell a lot of care goes into them. We started with the mussels, which were light, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Then we shared the tandoori chicken along with a side of garlic naan--both were amazing. The chicken was juicy and full of flavor, and the naan was warm and buttery with just the right amount of garlic. It's such a treat to have a new spot in town with creative cocktails and a unique menu. We're already looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes and drinks! read more

Girlfriend and I ordered a few items and loved them all. Curry fries, chicken tikka masala, and fried chicken. The environment was really nice too with comfortable chairs, nicely painted walls, a full bar, and even a couple pool tables! The only criticism I have is that they charge $2 for small sauces like mint chutney and a few others. If people are already ordering full meals and things, it seems insulting to charge $2 for a little sauce to accompany it. I know this kind of thing has been normalized more lately but it still rubs me the wrong way. That being said, they seem to be putting in a ton of effort and the food was great. We had Naan Bruschetta and it's amazing the Naan was so soft and the topping was really good Then we had Indian Latke the potatoes were amazing a little too much tamarind for my taste but my family liked it so a win win Then we had a Deconstructed samosa omg the flavor was so so good!!!! We were a bit put off when we walked in by the loud acoustics and pool/ bar on the other side of the restaurant. The place echos so anyone talking makes it loud and we did not expect for there to be people playing pool. It's kind of a weird vibe a cross between fairly nice restaurant and pool/ bar. Our server was friendly and 1 of our main entrees the tikka Marsala was excellent. The garlic naan had no real flavor nor did our 2nd entree (Dal) The wine selection was just ok but there was a good beer selection. When we paid for our bill for just the 2 of us my husband noticed the amount was different on the hand held check out vs the printed bill. When he questioned the server he was told 20% was already added. That seems very unusual for a party of 2 and we don't think it stated anything in the menu. Just beware bc my husband was going to add the tip not knowing it was already done. If you're looking for a "bro" hang out with good food this might be your place but most likely we will not return. Had heard good things about this place so I decided to check it out since I was in San Diego for the weekend. Amazing food. The dynamite wings were my favorite but everything from the naan to the mussels was delicious. Service was very fast, and the people working there were very knowledgeable and friendly, especially Rajan, who seemed very passionate about the restaurant. Located in a cool downtown area that's great to walk around in after. Glad that there's finally a place that finds the perfect balance between traditional and modern Indian food. The thing is, we need Indian food in Escondido and my family goes to Indian food very often. We love Indian food. . Their food is OK. It's not the best or even worth going back at this point and it's definitely overpriced. You can go 15 minutes up the street to Curry and more and get way more for your money. The management is lacking communication and responsibility. We know some people that work there and have not had great experiences with their manager and owner. Hopefully they find their groove soon. The ambiance is fine but a very strange lay out. The "fine dining" is all the way in the back outside in a separate building. Strange. read more

Was really excited to try this place. Ordered the curry fries, a beer, and wine. The fries came out cold and we let the server know and all he did is shrug and say he didn't know why. They were very flavorful so it was unfortunate as was his reaction, especially being a new restaurant you would think they would want to improve. We got home and suddenly both started to feel sick. Firangi was my first experience at an Indian restaurant. I was attending a party and so happy they shared this gem! The restaurant had a variety of room areas for party/bar/restaurant. They even have a couple of pool tables to hang out at after dinner. The service was outstanding and Raj is a wonderful human being. He has amazing passion and joy for the restaurant.
