I visited Board & Brew in Escondido for the first time yesterday for lunch and came away impressed. The parking lot is a little tight and busy, but there were plenty of spaces available. The restaurant was packed for a Wednesday afternoon, which is usually a good sign. Even with the lunch rush, the line moved quickly and the staff at the counter was friendly and efficient. The restaurant was clean and had plenty of seating both inside and outside. I also liked that they have a bar area with beer on tap. I ordered the Turkado, which was $14. While that's not exactly cheap for a sandwich, it was generously sized and loaded with thick slices of turkey and plenty of avocado. I really enjoyed the sourdough bread too. The only thing I'd change next time is swapping out the onions for sprouts or something since there were a few more onions than I prefer. Overall, it was a really good sandwich and a pleasant lunch experience. I can definitely see why this place is popular, and I'd be happy to come back and try more of the menu. read more

My husband got a tuna sandwich and said it was just ok as well. The location is in a shopping center and had plenty of parking. They did have a bar and a nice outdoor seating area. Probably one of my favorite chain sandwich shops in Escondido. While on the pricier side, their options for sandwiches are great and everything tastes super fresh. Staff is friendly, restaurant is clean, and this particular location is in a decent shopping center with plenty of parking. Whatever their sauce is they add in each bag with the sandwiches, you will want extra. It is SO GOOD, and so addicting! I typically order their Turkado, which is a Turkey sandwich, lettuce, avocado, and mayo. Very basic but so good! Pair it with the sauce they stick in your bag and absolute heaven! One of my favorite sandwich places, glad to have one in Escondido! I usually get my sandwich on sweet wheat (squaw bread), even if the one I choose one that normally doesn't come on it. Also need it without tomatoes, of course. And depending on the combo, I sometimes leave off the secret sauce. This time I got the Tom's Choice, no tomato, no secret sauce, extra mayo, on sweet wheat to go. The sandwich was so huge that I only ate half, plus the turkey out of the other side, and kept the other half for the next day. I also like the California Delight. Staff is always friendly, and the bar gets really busy, especially around Happy Hour time. TVs above the bar, and extra seating on the patio. The parking lot can be a challenge because of the large number of restaurants, etc. Primos, Cali Fish Grill, Poki Poki, Mike's BBQ, Ding Tea, Chieu Kitchen, and El Pollo Loco, plus Aldi, Home Goods, FedEx, Staples, and BevMo. I ordered Baja beef and they made me Baja chicken wrap instead. When I went back to complaint to Eric, manager he questioned me if I was lying or not since many people try to get free food. Order at the counter and they deliver to your table, or order at the full service bar. I had the Roast Beef Spicy sandwich and it was a perfect with tasty, lean, and not salty thin sliced beef, melted cheese, and pickled jalapeños. Served on a delicious soft french roll with Au Jus, "secret" orance sauce, and optionally horseradish on the side. I usually opt for the Turkey Avocado (Turcado?) but on SQUAW! And I always add sprouts and BANANA PEPPERS!!! I love a veggie-heavy sandwich. I couldn't resist trying a matcha hazy IPA... Catering orders are not easy, they dont deliver and you cant order drinks, weird. There was an issue with the online Catering order, which was canceled for some reason, so the store called me early the day I needed it and took the order. Had to make another run to the store for drinks and large bags of chips, rather than paying for individual chips which were expensive. Otherwise the sandwiches are great and they were ready on time. I would stop & eat here for a sandwich but I will not order a large Catering order for a meeting from here, it's too much extra work. read more

We decided on the grilled chicken quesadilla with spinach tortilla and the dipped roast beef. Chicken was tender as was the roast beef. Bread and tortilla tasted fresh baked. Dip for the sandwich wasn't salty and was served hot. Sweet and sour dip for the quasdilla was very tasty and served hot. My better half and I recently stopped by and it's still one of my favorite neighborhood joints... I'm not really a fan of sandwich places but I love their tuna sandwich. I'm not sure if it's the ratio of tuna to mayo or the bread they use, but it's absolutely delicious. It's pretty large so be prepared to have half of your sandwich leftover for another meal. My youngest mini-me really enjoys their chicken club while my oldest mini-me has enjoy several different things from their menu. We've dined in and also had sandwiches to-go. Very solid sandwiches and chill vibes at every location I've been to. Reminds me of a surf shop. I typically get the Italian Sub but also enjoy the Turkey Club and Tub O'Tuna. We came here for lunch, place wasn't busy. Sat down at a table to wait for a food and it was dirty. They were all dirty. Ask the front girl for napkins to wipe the table and they literally just handed us the napkins so we could wipe it instead of them wiping it. They are just standing around.
