I took a ring there to have it resized on 4/15/2025, picked up on 4/22/2025. It is a precious family heirloom and based on advertising I have seen for Fircrest Jewelers stating that it is a locally owned business that one could trust with their family heirlooms, I felt comfortable. The shank broke on 5/11/2026, and I took it back on 5/12/2026. The lady who waited on me made a loud production about their one-year warranty and how the damage to my ring was outside of the year. It was 3 weeks outside of the warranty. It was unprofessional behavior and there were other people in the business who could hear her admonish me. She said she would speak to the owner and get back to me. I received a text message on 5/13/2026, stating that I could pay $40 for the repair. I picked up my ring and took it to another jewelry store who looked the ring over to give me an estimate. Attached is the picture I took when they explained that the work that had been done was faulty. There are bubbles in the shank and you can see the lines where the metal was added to upsize the ring. So much for over 30 years' experience in the business. I would expect this type of customer experience with a corporate owned business where profit is the goal over everything else, not from a "locally owned business that advertises that you can trust your precious family heirlooms with them." Update/Response: The ring was not bent nor had it been sized before. I hardly wear this ring, and I never wear it for work, around the house or in the garden. I received this from a grandparent, and it was a size 4 or 5. Fircrest is the only jeweler that I have had size this ring, and that was in April of last year. It broke at the seam of the metal that was used to upsize the ring to a size 8.5. The jeweler that looked over the ring was not impressed with the work and there was no discussion about the ring being bent or sized multiple times. read more

Resizing Plating Customer service (some folks are great, some are ,, less than helpful) Turn around time Pricing My experience: I have had a very mixed experience with this jeweler. I originally went in to have my partners engagement ring resized, which necessitated that they remove the gold electroplating that was on it, and they offered their replating service to be added. They did a great job with the resizing, but within just a few weeks of wear the gold plating was splotchy, which surprised me because the original plating that was on the ring had been holding fine. When I first went in to have this issue addressed on 10/24 I had a terrible experience. A late 20-something brunette was trying to help me, but basically just kept going back and forth between me and her manager, an older woman with blondish short hair. Eventually, this manager came into the conversation, but instead of walking up to me to discuss the issue, she raised her voice at me from across the store, and didn't even get out of her chair. It was incredibly rude. After this, I left. After calling around to a couple of other local jewelers, I learned the difference between electroplating, which lasts a lot longer (but only manufacturers and large-scale shops do) and gold plating/gilding, which is what they do here and is what came off quite quickly. With this new information, and having talked to the original jeweler about re-electroplating my ring, I went back in to see if there was something we could do about the lack of communication about the longevity of the results. I was braced to have to see the rude manager again, and I was not looking forward to it, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the two people who helped me today instead (10/25). Sonya and Hazel listened intently and empathetically to my issue, understood that it was clearly a lack of information being communicated that led to the problem, and were able to get us to a fair resolution. Those two are the only reason this is not a one-star review, and they are also why I will consider bringing my other jewelry to this jeweler in the future. Huge shout out to those two! We went in to look at engagement rings to replace and upgrade the one my hubby bought for me 51 years ago. As part of celebrating our 50th anniversary, I finally agreed to trade in my original wedding set for a new one. The old set had a very small center diamond with two small ones on each side. Over the years it took a beating and I've replaced the small diamonds multiple times. But I kept it for sentimental reasons. After 50 years I was now willing to let it go for a more pretty ring. I was able to get a lovely platinum ring with a much more sturdy setting and a diamond twice the size compared to the old one. The platinum matches the anniversary ring my husband gave me 25 years ago. Now I'm very pleased with my new ring! I have used this jeweler for many years. I recently placed 5 rings in a cleaning solution that basically ruined them. They are black on sterling with garnets. I was devastated. I brought them to Fircrest jewelers and the entire team made me feel very reassured that they could get them back to their original design. I picked them up today and they are absolutely beautiful and look exactly like they did and were intended by the custom jeweler who created them that came from Poland. I could not be happier and have always felt incredibly welcome and leave there with a smile on my face which just makes my day. I cannot recommend this jeweler and their shop more. They are absolutely incredible at what they do and have beautiful jewelry in their cases. Scott did an amazing job on these five rings and I cannot thank him enough. Originally we had planned to visit a few jewelers, but Fircrest was our first stop and we ended up leaving our first visit with the ring design and an amazing experience. I would give a zero if I could. We took a 1958 Omega women's watch to them for servicing and appraisal. After the servicing and appraisal which was several hundred dollars, we decided to sell the watch. We asked Fircrest Jewelers what they would be willing to offer as the appraisal came in at over $7000 dollars. They offered $1000 which is less than the melting value of the gold on the watch. I don't know where they get the jewelry they sell in store, but based upon this experience, I'm confident they took advantage of someone to get it. read more

The prices here for jewelry resizing and repair are on the higher side (granted I have very little to compare to) but the work the jeweler here does is exceptional. They also offer absolutely gorgeous and unique options if you're shopping for jewelry. They also buy jewelry though I haven't sold any. The jeweler here was able to resize my twisted band wedding band and match the previous pattern perfectly and did a great job with my engagement ring as well. Whoa, we went here hoping to replace my wedding band. My old one lost a diamond and rather than repair it, I decided to get a sold band and sell or trade in the old one. At first, service seemed good but after a bit it soured when I struggled to find the right band. Then, they offer $100 for my ring - which seemed off to me. In the process of cleaning my nameplate necklace given to me as a child, it broke into three pieces. to my surprise, the store took full responsibility. Wow! What an amazing, true, family jeweler. I'm not from Washington, nor am I from the Fircrest area. I made the 1 hour drive to see about selling some jewelry that no longer held sentiment to me. I was treated respectfully, all of my questions were answered and I was quoted a great price for what I was selling! It was a little under what I hoped, but that is normal. Aside from that, my husband and I decided to look around and the selection is amazing! We just got married and my husband said "We should've came here instead of going where we did to buy your set!" That says something because my husband totally lives with no regrets. I found a piece that reminded me so much of my late grandmother. I tried it on a million times, took photos, asked questions. I had been running into dead ends for 3 almost 4 days and desperate to find a battery for an Invicta Angel watch I'd bought through the Mercari app; a brand new watch with a price tag of $995.00 still attached but not ticking when it arrived. The sale wouldn't be complete until I informed the seller that the watch did indeed work, and after getting it for next to nothing I was anxious to keep it. Sitting on the East Side is Tacoma a rolling through the Yelp app, I looked for "watch battery replacement" and Fircrest Jewelers was the first business to pop up. It was 4:15 and my quest the day prior started with locating a jeweler in Lakewood and the ad said they closed at 6 and when I called it was not even 5 pm but when the phone was answered and a normal residential sounding "hello" echoed through the phone, i was informed they were the jewelers but it was Saturday and they'd closed early, not to reopen until Tuesday. So it's Sunday and I see the add for Fircrest and as the phone rings im expecting the worst possible scenario...... but I'm amazed when I hear yeses to all my questions and I arrive at the business 10 minutes later and was out the door in about 15 more minutes with a working watch and it only costing me $10.
