Went in for a watch battery change. They really don't like changing batteries, except they are not upfront about it. An employee told me "we send them to our headquarters in Seattle, is that okay?" To which I replied yes. She then said "it will take 3 weeks, is that STILL okay?" Went to another store, and while I was at it bought an automatic Tag so I don't have to deal with the BS anymore. Moral of the story is you never know that $50 sales you are blowing off might be a $5000 sale you lose. read more

I want to give a special thanks to Steve Perry at the Tacoma location. From the moment we walked in he was very professional and wasn't pushy whatsoever. We were looking for a wrap to go with my original engagement ring. After looking at the selection (which was great) and thinking about what I wanted, my mother passed down my grandmother's wedding ring. We decided to have a ring made incorporating the engagement stone and the diamond's from my grandmother, as well as a matching band. Steve explained how the process would work. He helped design the ring based on the look I was going for. When we finally decided on the final look, the designers in New York got started. Steve kept us updated on the progress which was amazing. We also gave him a very short time line and he was able to deliver! When we received the unique rings, they each came with a story which showed each step of the process starting with a wax mold and so forth. Very cool! My husband's wedding band got stuck on his finger so bad, he had to cut it off. We went to Ben Bridge in Tacoma to shop for a new one thinking that was our only option. Perry was a great help and had wonderful news. They could repair and salvage the ring! We didn't have his ring with us so we went back a few days later. That time, we were helped by Laura. She, too, was awesome to work with. We didn't know what to expect with the finished product since the ring has a lot going on: claddaugh design in the white gold band (which had become yellow over time) with black antiquing and an engraved message on the inside of the band. When I get Rock star *genuine* unpretentious service along with great shopping experience and positively wonderful products with zero complaints, 5 stars are earned. Nothing about my experience(s) here was forced or uncomfortable. I actually stopped in the first time just to check something out and ask a question. The jeweler clerk (I didn't get her name) was helpful and didn't treat me like a commissions opportunity. She knew I wasn't buying anything that day but still helped me with great service. I returned after much thought about what I was going to pick out. This time it was a little busy. Even so, we were acknowledged promptly. Ian (I hope I spelled his name correctly) helped us with our purchases. He was very helpful and knowledgable, the least bit salesperson-y or pushy. Shopping was fun, we browsed and compared jewelry leisurely and casually without any sort of pressure. (Which I have experienced at just about every other jeweler I have been to.) After we made our purchase, we had an awesome conversation with Ian. It was very nice feeling comfortable enough to talk on a casual level with our clerk. I was respected on both occasions and felt valued as a person, not just a customer. The jewelry offered here is genuine brand name. Beautiful quality pieces. Prices are the generic suggested retail price, not jacked up. They have awesome specials from time to time, too. (Like free Pandora sterling silver charm bracelet with purchase!!!) We first met Ian back in 2010. I had found a ring in a bridal magazine that I just had to see in person. It was available at Ben Bridge, so on a trip to the mall one evening we stopped in just to see what it looked like. Ian greeted us and after a quick look around determined that the ring was out at a trunk show and would not be available for a few days. He offered to call me when it was back and I gave him my info, not expecting much. A few days later, Ian called and let me know the ring was back in the store - long story short we have now purchased that ring, diamond stud earrings, a beautiful watch, and pendant necklace (that I get compliments on regularly) over the past couple of years from Ian. He is my "go to" jewelry person - I wouldn't go anywhere else. He is always respectful and friendly - even when we go months and years without buying from him - when I come in to get my stuff cleaned/checked he's always happy to spend a few minutes chatting, even knowing that I'm not buying anything that day. So this was our first visit on this location to get my watch resize and while waiting Molly came and help me look around for a possible ring purchase and she was amazing, friendly and professional not pushy at all. They treated me right. I dug up my 10 year old Tag watch which was pretty horrifically scuffed up and had not run in several years. I asked them what they could do. They inspected the watch and said all the pressure, water resistance, etc. was in tact, they also discussed refinishing the watch - removing all the scratches, getting a new battery in it, etc. For a very reasonable price my watch was restored basically to new condition!! Thank you Eric for installing the links to my new watch. Additionally, Eric who is a certified watchmaker found the links specific for my Milgauss to size it perfectly. I was very impressed by the professionalism of the staff at this location. Do not confuse this Ben Bridge for the one located inside the Tacoma Mall; this location is off site and exclusive. Of note they also had a large selection of Tag Heuer and Breitling watches. The gentleman I spoke with was very knowledgeable in the field of horology; himself having a Tag Heuer Monaco Chronograph. took my wedding ring in recently to get re-sized since my husband bought me a new band to add to my original ring.They had taken my ring to add the band and i got it back but it was just a little too tight. so I took it back and they said no problem we will get it done as quickly as possible. I went into this store because it got such good reviews on it. When I entered I was greeted nicely by this blonde young lady. That's when it started to go down hill. She seemed annoyed by what I was wanting in a engagement ring. We looked at many ring settings and many loose diamonds. She kept on sighing every time I wanted to look at something else like she didn't want to work with me. It made me feel very uncomfortable. I went in the next day to see someone else. It was a young brown haired lady. She was nice and quaint but since the first gal gave me a bad vibe, I decided to go somewhere else for an engagement ring. This is really disheartening ... My family has been going to Ben Bridge for years, the first earrings I ever had once I got my ears pierced when I was a baby until my 22nd birthday, gifts for every occasion. We've been loyal to this company because their service and products were great. I recently (today) brought my engagement ring in to get cleaned, I prefer the steam cleaning to the brush and water - I can do that at home. Trusting this company for as long as we have, I wanted to stop in. I went out of my way to get to a Ben Bridge. My fiancé had bought it somewhere else. Perry was the man working with me, he greeted me like any other day; very kind and warm welcome. I asked if he would mind cleaning my ring and he was more than willing to. (We chose to go a different rout than the traditional diamond. ) he checked the stone under the microscope like usual, checked the prongs to make sure my ring was good. As he walked by to get it cleaned, he asked what stone it was and when I answered his tone completely changed. Like I wasn't a legitimate customer, my jewelry wasn't worth the same treatment as theirs. He did clean it well, I was happy with the result, but he made sure he put his unsolicited 2 cents in before handing it back. Insinuating my ring was cheap, giving me ideas on how to spend less and make it cheaper. The information he spouted was unbelievably incorrect, he didn't know his facts, or our plans for the set up of the wedding ring. (We're in the middle of completing a mold and a custom ring) Being cordial and adult-like, I didn't say much but nod my head. For a 60 year old man to be that oblivious like that with his copious knowledge on jewelry, he doesn't seem to have common sense down by any stretch. I left unhappy, hurt, relatively offended and with a higher blood pressure than I walked in with. After actually getting to meet with Mr. bridge's son, I know this isn't something he would condone.
