We are early diners so we arrived around 4:30. TJ was the bartender and he was awesome. Dry Martini for the husband and Vodka Mule for me. We also ordered a bottle of wine for dinner which we had him open to breathe. We ordered 2 appetizers, Goat Cheese w/Crostini and Crab Cakes. Both were absolutely delicious. Fire & Vine, a new restaurant in Cookville. Came in to check out. It was day 3 of being open. The ambiance was so nice, Laurie, our waitress was super nice and attentive. Anything we needed, she was on it. We started our meal with drinks and Whipped Goat Cheese and Bacon. Both were to die for. For dinner, we ordered an EW Chicago style pizza, and I have to say it is one of the BEST pizzas I have had.it was loaded with toppings and had amazing flavor. The crust was light and fluffy and delicious. We were able to meet the manager, Beverly, and one of the owners, Molly. Both were amazing to talk to and answered all our questions. Walked in 2 pm today-asked hostess at bottom of stairs if top was open, she said yes! Went upstairs with my daughter and sat at a 2 seat table - many were available. A young girl came up cocky and said did you check with hostess downstairs with attitude- we said yes she said it's open! Young girl said it's only open seating at bar and walked away rude. So embarrassing.... We moved to bar- but at this point my daughter said "Let's just go that was rude" told bartender we changed our mind and told her what occurred. Too bad we are just getting to know the area - and such a bad taste from your establishment and we do not know your ways- of what is or isn't open... is the customer suppose to? We went to this establishment to celebrate a birthday. My step daughter and her boyfriend recommended this restaurant for the food and great service. We were a party of 6. We arrived placed our drink orders and appetizer orders. Our appetizers arrived and we placed our food orders, which included two pizzas, a steak, and Philly cheesesteak sandwich. The appetizers were very good. Our first issue started when we kept having to track down our waiter to get refills on our beverages. Our pizza arrived. It took a while for the rest of our order to arrive. The Philly Cheesesteak was obviously burnt. The waiter tried to make an excuse that the meat was not burnt, but was darker due to the marinade. Our third problem was the potatoes and broccolini were cold, and appeared to have been plated before the steak was done. The broccolini was sent back because it was absolutely cold. It was very apparent the waiter took the broccolini and ran it through the microwave to heat it up which made it tough and stringy. It was very apparent the waiter was put off by our requests. I was extremely disappointed in the service we received. In all the pizza was ok. I don't know if I would visit this restaurant again. read more

Then back down only to traverse a stairwell filed with stacked wine boxes and other items that should have been in a storage room. Bad first impression. The couple with is ordered salads and a pizza to share. The pizza was basically hard overcooked dough with minimal toppings. We ordered salads and steak. Average salad, average sides, and the absolute worst ribeye we had had in years. It was gristly and lacked flavor . For $42 I expected a better steak than Longhorn offers. Nothing comes out at the same time. The waitress warned us of this, but I wasn't expecting the long delays. The best thing about this place is the sing outside. It looks nice. The "Ambiance" was great, handy cap parking is on the street level on the west side, the bar and inside dining area is on the first floor and there is a rooftop dining area above the parking lot. The first floor dining was clean and cool, booths were roomy and tables were well spaced. "Service" was quick , friendly, and excellent by Natalie, who kept a close watch on us. Meaning , we didn't have to look or wait on service at all. Natalie was efficient and outstanding which we deeply appreciated! The "Food", the Bacon appetizer was delicious and we would order that again. However, the entree, capellini caprese, was a disaster. The Capellini Caprese was listed in the menu as capellini, roasted tomatoes, shallots, garlic, white wine, fresh mozzarella, with meatballs. It should have said, garlic, roasted tomatoes, garlic, and more garlic. The amount of garlic over powered everything except the meatballs which were tenderize with black pepper that completely destroyed the flavor of the meatballs. We always ask the question, " Was our overall experience worth repeating?" Our answer is "Yes". But we won't order the Capellini Caprese again which was not worth the money we paid for it. We had heard about Fire and Vine for a while now and decided to check it out while we were in the area. Thought they'd be open at 3pm as listed on Yelp, but they open at 4pm (this was a Monday), so better to check their website or call. So we get there at 4pm and get right in...no wait. Chose outdoor seating on the roof. Great atmosphere and appointments.. It is covered/shady and looks like about half of the seating area can be enclosed with plastic walls in the colder weather. We were very early, so the bartender, Carter, came right to us and asked what we'd like to drink. The adult beverage menu is really nice and we eventually saw many being brought out which looked terrific. Ours were superb. My wife had a Pisco which she loved and I had a gin martini, which I wanted fixed a certain way and he nailed it. Our server, Libby came out directly and ensured we liked our drinks. Libby was probably the best server we have had in a very, very long time anywhere. She was super friendly, chatty in the right proportions, helpful with the menu, attentive with every facet of our visit and determined to ensure we were enjoying ourselves and our meal. When my steak came out she waited while I cut into it to ensure it was cooked to my liking (it was). I can't say enough about this young lady. Carter, the bartender as well, was amazing. When our drinks were delivered he glanced over to our table a bunch of times and when he caught my eye he hand-signaled if we liked our drinks. A bit later a young couple at the next table had ordered and Carter came out to ensure the Mule that was ordered was a 'standard' mule, since they have many kinds on the menu. They appreciated his attention and weren't aware they had other types, and actually changed their order based on his inquiry. Our food was excellent. The bruschetta was so good we could have ordered four more and just enjoyed that all night. The focaccia bread was perfect and amazing on its own, but the two toppings were really really good as well (a homemade tomato/basil/shallots/oil/spice affair and a goat-cheese spread) and both were topped with fried crispy onions, a great touch . My wife ordered the Short Rib Bolognese, with mushrooms, Calabrian peppers and Parmesan and it was phenomenal (a tiny bit spicy, but surprisingly great). I ordered the filet mignon which came with asparagus and mac-and-cheese. The filet was fork tender, cooked perfectly (a bit difficult to do cooking filet to medium rare) and seasoned to perfection. It had a drizzle of exceptional balsamic reduction that went perfectly. The mac-and-cheese was creamy, al dente, with a very nice melty cheese. The asparagus was very fresh, but unfortunately undercooked a bit leaving the sprout end yummy but the root end a bit inedible. Didn't have room for dessert but my wife did enjoy a dessert martini which she said was delicious. When we received our check I asked Libby what her name was and she told us, but then did something very few other servers have done. She asked us for our names as well. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. We had a party of 20, I understand it may take a while to get our food; however it took 2.5 hours. The owner and manager charged us for wings that were never delivered to the table and refused to take it off the bill, they were for my 9-year-old nephew, so he left without eating. The manager and owner were extremely rude to us even though we spent quite a bit of money to eat there. We did not get carded for the alcohol we ordered, which is against the law. A lady in our party received a hamburger that was not done, when she asked for it to be cooked a bit more they took it for maybe 3 minutes and then brought back the same hamburger and bun she had already bit off of without putting it back on the grill, she did not eat as well. I was appalled at the owner and managers attitudes towards us, paying customers who were just trying to have a nice birthday dinner for my husband and his dad. read more
