So I went in here with some coworkers and customers for a lunch. It was walking distance from their ofc and it was a nice day a little walk is always good. Everyone ordered something different so we had a lot to sample. I went with the stuffed baked potato with pulled pork. It was a mountain of food, the pic will verify that. The pork was very tender and good flavor with little to no sauce added. That's the way I like bbq in general - only add sauce if it needs it. I like a little to dip in, but not covered in it. I want to taste the meat. Anyway, the only negative comment was the meat was in large pieces, not shredded up. Had to do the pulling myself. Another guy had the meatloaf - I know, meatloaf at a bbq joint, but it was good. I tasted anothers sausage and some brisket, and all had good flavor and tender. The hit side was the cabbage. Several had it and it tasted great. There is not a lot of seating and they are currently applying for a beer/wine license. Pricing is average for BBQ - for the 5 of us was around $115 b4 tip. My first time visiting them since they got the brick and mortar. I was super impressed by the expedition and the friendliness of the staff. Ordered a trinity, moist brisket, mild sausage and pork ribs. The ribs were magnificent, moist, tender smoky and flavorful. Checks every box for a well cooked rib. The brisket was also pretty darn good as well. The sausage was good it's not house made, so I can't be hard on them but they did expertly cook it. Was very satisfied with my sides of potato salad(they donut right with mustard) and a Gouda Mac and cheese (always love REAL cheese) that is several steps above most bbq joints. I would love to see them elevate the max and cheese with truffle oil, that would be outstanding. You know a place is a good one when they sell out of meat, this is the case here at FireCraft. His sides rival Truth BBQ and like the owner of Truth David has the same philosophy of not letting his sides be an afterthought and again you can tell. I'm from out of town and in visiting some family, I decided to eat at Craft: the food was amazing!!!!! I had a moment trying to decide what to get and one of the chefs, Jacob G., noticed me staring at the menu and he recommended the salmon with the pico and crawfish sauce (may not be the name of the dish) and it was perfect. Jacob sounded extremely knowledgable about the menu and very patient with my questions. Tried this place out for the first time and it was phenomenal. The people and owner were really nice and talk to you. I overheard the owner talk to another table and he really takes pride in how they do things a certain way and it all makes sense why the food and hospitality is amazing. Nestled in a quiet corner, this place turned out to be quite a hidden gem. I went for the three meat plate and it was pretty flavorful. The ribs, brisket, and pulled pork were all delicious, and they threw in two sides - smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese and baked beans. They had this self-serve BBQ sauce that went well with the meat. I had heard great things about Fire Craft, so I drove to the front of Kingwood to give it a try. I bought a pound of sliced beef, and it was really good, just not extraordinary. The cost was $30/lb, which was fine, but I thought for a premium price, it would be a premium piece of meat. Again, it was really good, just not extraordinary. Also, they only gave me a minimum of pickles/onions--maybe enough for one sandwich--and no bread. I also bought potato salad and cole slaw. I arrived at the restaurant probably ten minutes after they opened. I was immediately greeted by a very friendly young woman with a nice smile working the front counter. This is important. BBQ is expensive no mater where you purchase it, so a first impression on a customer may well decide whether they come back or not, regardless of how good the food may have been. My first encounter was thus very positive and left a lasting impression. I ordered the two meat 1/3 lb each plate that comes with two sides, along with a Jumbo Potato to go. I chose the brisket and sausage for the meats with sides of potato salad and jalapeño corn spoon bread. Everything was excellent. There were even customers waiting for their orders like I was who all commented on how good the food was and they were right. If I have any negative (but constructive) criticisms, it would be the condiment sizes like pickle and onion were a joke. Now this is Texas dang it all! One would expect more than two little slices of pickle and just a couple of really small pieces of onion all packed into a really small sauce container. I totally get having the objective of cutting costs as well as food waste, but the proportions given was just being outright cheapskate about it. BBQ is expensive no mater who you buy it from. Onions and pickles are not! The extremely small serving size of these condiments subtract a little away from an otherwise delightful experience. I cannot comment on how busy they get during lunch hour, but I would guess they get quite busy. So I would suggest getting there early in the morning, however, I cannot comment on any other time slot. The total was around $31 which was about what I expected to pay before walking into the place. That $31 will in my opinion, definitely feed a girl and her hungry boyfriend, YMMV. Generally speaking, BBQ is expensive so expect to pay accordingly. read more

I have really mixed emotions about this place, first off they're trying to be legit Texan barbecue which is commendable, and on most counts they succeed but a few real issues both with the ownership and food definitely knock off some stars. Let's start with the good stuff, the brisket burger looks and was amazing, this is a pretty creative take on the tired burger at a bbq place, this was easily 5 stars, well done. My baked potato was also excellent, the smoked turkey is spot on Texas too, jalapenos made it excellent. Now being that barbecue runs in the family, see a little place in Taylor I'm going to straight out tell you that their barbecue sauce sucks, it's trying to be both Texas and Carolina style and fails miserably at both, it's just bad. Worse the mac and cheese which they charge $5 for a small side, it straight out of the box cracker barrel slop and it was served cold, dry, disgusting -- pretty chintzy move what should have been made in house. Alright and to add insult to injury this place is clearly run by fascist Trump tr@sh, the last thing I want to see when I'm dining with a hispanic friend is that racist Yankee glaring at me while I place our order, I was embarrassed for him, and will not be coming back. This is Texas, no desire at all to see Yankee bs. Prices are just south of outlandish too by the pound, yeah I know it's barbecue and a labor of love but by golly these are downtown prices at what really is a hole in the wall in a suburb. I'm new to Texas and I've only been to this restaurant once. The food is good. The customer service and information provided to customers is poor. I just wasted 3 hours out of my day driving across town and stalling until the restaurant opened, only to find out when I arrived that they aren't allowing walk-in orders. I called the restaurant three times before driving over and no one picked up the phone. I called the store yesterday and no one picked up. When I arrived the young lady at the register was rude and cut me off while I was speaking, as I was trying to get an understanding of the restaurant hours, and when the restaurant actually is available to customers to order. There is no information provided to customers regarding all the stipulation ls regarding ordering. This is unacceptable. At the very least update the automated recording to inform customers of these sorts of things. read more
