Owner and head pit master, David Welch puts his heart and soul into the products his restaurant turns out. Not only that, there is a lot of variety and specialty dishes on the menu that most other BBQ places don't serve. We had 14 in our group and were able to pull together some tables and chairs in the large additional dining room they added not long after opening. The room is clean and well lit, big ceiling fans keep the air moving. Our group ordered a variety of things; I had the brisket hamburger with a side of the very southern yellow squash casserole. My wife had the chopped beef sandwich with fries and another friend had the chicken plate with beans and coleslaw. Others had their tocos and other sandwiches, one had the ribs. We were all full and happy when we finished. What 's nice is David came by to check on us and make sure everyone was happy, not many owners take that kind of personal attention.

My husband and son love crawfish when in season, so I got a couple of pounds of crawfish to try with added corn and potatoes. I truly appreciate the price for the crawfish and adding the corn and potatoes weren't ridiculously priced like some places - I feel a lot of restaurants are getting overpriced. But one of the owners assured me that the cook has some flavorful crawfish, and it was! The crawfish had the right amount of spice and seasoning. Aside from the food, I was told that they have live music on the weekends and it's BYOB also! However, they do offer soda and water to purchase as well.
