Such a fun place to stop in for a quick short visit or stay for a while! We needed to kill some time before attending another event so we stopped by this place. We enjoyed some great whiskey tasting served by our fun bartender "Jack"! I am not a big whiskey fan but they had some really tasty stuff! My favorite was the Old Fashion Cocktail and the Texas Bourbon Whiskey. We went into the Bottle Shop & Mercantile building which has a tasting bar with tables & chairs, and a sitting area with a big screen tv. They have lots of outdoor seating area to enjoy with live entertainment. Pet friendly. You can also do a tour of the distillery which we did not get to do, but will go back soon to do it. They also sell those beautiful whiskey barrels at a great price. Definitely recommend this great place to hang out with friends, enjoy some good whiskey with a fun atmosphere. read more

Dropped by Treaty Oak Distillery on a Sunday. Parking here is free so that's nice. The employees here are full of energy and are helpful and nice. The restaurant is closed! There was 1 food truck but the food was NOT what we were looking for. They have a lovely location with lots of outdoor space, trees and picnic tables. They have a large space where you can sit drink and watch sports but it is not air conditioned, but it does have fans. It was a bit too hot for us so we went to the air conditioned space and enjoyed a nice flight. FYI, the bathrooms are outside. Do not recommend this place, we should've known by how dead it was when we walked in there on a Saturday afternoon, but this place was not good. We tried to order beer only to find out that they do not sell it anymore, but it was still on the menu. The food truck that was on site is terrible. When we put in the order, he told us it was going to be 20 to 30 minutes. We waited over an hour and half for two sandwiches that were Subway sandwich level and $40. When the food was finally delivered, the turkey club we order was out of bacon so it was just a turkey sandwich for $15. They were setting up for puppy adoption event that looked very cute. I hope management fixes the underlying issues happening because I can see in previous reviews that this place used to be great. read more

I wasn't familiar with Treaty Oak Distilling prior to visiting last summer. We visited on a Saturday afternoon. When we arrived, we walked around the grounds and realized the only thing open was the Mercantile Bar. The Mercantile Bar is not very large and does not have much seating. The building did not have great air circulation so it was warm and stuffy. It was also miserably hot in the restrooms which are located in a separate area on the premises not too far from the Mercantile. There were a lot of people waiting to get drinks at the bar and there were only two bartenders working. The bartenders didn't seem to have any sense of urgency with making drinks. My friend and I waited at least 15 minutes before we were able to order. We almost left because of the long wait. When the bartender got to us, he apologized. Treaty Oak offers whiskey and gin. I ordered the Garden Rita which is a gin cocktail with cucumber, cilantro, lime, and simple. It was floral and the botanicals were prominent. It was a refreshing beverage, especially on a hot summer day. My friend had the Antique Gin Old Fashioned. As much as I love gin, I do not like Antique Gin so I didn't try his drink. We were able to share a table with some other patrons, but I would say half of the patrons were standing due to the limited seating. The parking lot and the walkways are made of huge gravel rocks. There were some ladies wearing heels that had a difficult time walking on the gravel. The gravel left a chalky residue on our shoes which was incredibly annoying. Treaty Oak has potential, but it wasn't as fun as another distillery that we visited earlier in the day. I wouldn't mind coming back to eat at Alice's, take a tour, or listen to some live music. If I visit again, it will definitely not be in the middle of the summer. read more

Treaty oak distilling is a super cute place! The big open fields with lots of flowers and gardens and a big play area for kiddos. They have lots of different buildings on property that serve different types of drinks and food. I absolutely love their mojito on tap! It is delicious!! Watch out though, they're strong ;) The service is pretty good, I've never had any issues with the staff. It can be confusing your first time there not knowing where to go to order drinks or food, some better signage would be helpful. Treaty Oak used to be an amazing spot to enjoy outdoor entertainment, tasty food at the on site restaurant Alice's, and had present, knowledgeable bartenders and staff that were eager to help. We visited today (Jan 2026) for the first time in a few years...and we are so disappointed in what it's become. Alice's is shut down. There was ONE food truck that served sandwiches, but their equipment was not working so all they had to offer was grilled cheese. We waited at the main bar for 5-10 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. When he got there, he said they didn't have most of the drinks because "no one worked over the holidays", and all they had was hard liquor (ie: the bourbon) We ended up leaving soon after arriving, due to lack of options. We loved coming here, it's unfortunate that it's changed so much under new management / ownership. read more

Been wanting to check this place out since we first learned of it two summers ago. We finally got our chance today. It's been over a 100 outside so needless to say not much outside activity today. The brisket nachos were awesome enough that we had two. The pickled veggies along with the wedge salads were both healthy portions. The inside feel was your standard open restaurant. Nice length bar in it. The waitress was meh. Found out after further review of the receipt that we were mischarged for items we didn't receive. This waitress even asked me if I had order another for a drink she just simply never brought me. I guess the non-alcoholic ones weren't her priority. However, Brendan, Morgan and Alana were all great. If not for them I'd likely have not purchased as much as we did. I am not much of whiskey or bourbon girl. However the daydrinker was so smooth I'd buy a bottle for myself. The red handed along with their other choice were my favorites. However the old fashioned along with the peach julep in the flights were amazing. When purchasing a bottle to go such as myself make sure to specify if you want a 375ml or 750ml. I'd say the 750ml was def the better deal. We didn't come just for tastings. However I also got a chance to try to be gin which included as Alana called it a Texas holly basically. I typically feel like gin burns for awhile. However this one was botanical enough I would love it in a cocktail. Overall I feel this would be a great space for a rehearsal dinner if you are getting married locally or birthday party or just overall hangout with groups. We LOVED visiting Treaty Oak. We were in town for a friend's wedding and came here twice while we were there. Alice's restaurant was delicious, I got one of the salads with salmon added. We all really enjoyed the cocktails. I had the antique fizz and loved the hints of lavender with the taste of the gin. The rest of my family really enjoyed having the old fashions. This is a great place to hang out with family. Plenty of outdoor space as well as places to sit indoors. The staff was super attentive and made great recommendations when it came to food and drinks. The place has its own mood - well-groomed territory, pleasant atmosphere and attentive staff. I really liked the drinks, and the recreation area creates a good impression. I would like a little more amenities on the street to stay longer - heaters or a hearth would clearly add comfort. The kitchen has room for improvement. Some dishes were delicious, while others left a contradictory impression. Portions are not the largest, and some positions seemed less convincing in taste. If you are taking a trip to Dripping Springs, this is a must for visiting. It's the perfect place in a nice warm day. So much outdoor seating, beautiful trees to provide shade, corn hole, good music, and more importantly good booze! Not only can you get a great quality meal (especially the burgers) but here is a local distillery that makes their own vodka, bourbon and gin in house. I had the pleasure to meet James who gave me so much insight on the company, and made me excited to try his bourbon. Day Drinker was the one that stole my heart. I just had to take a bottle home! Pretty disappointing experience. We were visiting from Arizona and were looking forward to this stop. I had visited 3 years ago and thought the place was great. We visited on a Thursday in December - which is clearly off season for them. However, they were open so we thought things would be fine. The restaurant was "closed for a private event" which was clearly not the case. We were literally the only people on the grounds. For what it's worth I think they had a septic issue judging from the strong odor. Also several young people sitting around on their laptops. Chairs all put up on tables made it clear they were just not interested. Next we tried their merch shop. Which we were told would be opening soon. So we went for a cocktail at the shack they pointed us to. The staff at the bar were friendly and attentive and the cocktails were great. I just didn't love the music blaring rap that included the N word like a comma. Back to the merch shop - still not open. More young people on laptops sitting around. My suggestion to the management - please manage. A bunch of privileged kids who don't work wouldn't be the way I would want things done. Won't be back. read more

Arguably one of the most scenic distilleries in Texas. Unfortunately, the experience has gone downhill ever since they closed down the on-site restaurant. Without that, they're distilled spirits are not worth visiting by itself. Very run of the mill whiskey and spirits across the board. Worth visiting once to see the beautiful grounds, take photos, and do a tasting flight so you can judge for yourself. Not worth revisiting beyond that in my opinion. read more

This place has set the bar on distilleries for me. I bought the limit (and paid for my friends limit too) . The staff was engaging and offered a few sips to sample that helped us choose our perfect pours. I now tell my family and friends, anyone going within a mile of this place- go check it out , and Bruno me back a bottle . Took my second trip out to treaty oak and was not disappointed with the day spent here. Treaty Oak is the kind of place that you want to spend the entire day at, and you totally can! What I love about it too is that it's a massive space with so much to do while on the grounds. It even has a playground where the kids can play, and an indoor space with plenty of TVs to watch football on game day. We started off with a tasting, which you can either do Gin or Whiskey. I actually highly recommend the tasting, it's only $10 a person but gives some great background on how each different flavor/bottle is created and made. You also can put the $10 towards a bottle if you end up wanting to buy one to take home. We then went into the bar area and got drinks, which is a huge variety of cocktails! They have plenty of picnic tables, and multiple boards for cornhole on the grounds. The restaurant on site it BBQ and was amazing! We got the brisket sandwich and pork sandwich and loved them both. What I also loved about it, was that there's multiple places where you can get drinks, foods, etc. on the grounds but your tab stays open for everything. Had and awesome time at Treaty Oak a few weekends back. Definitely try to arrive early to snag a spot inside on a hot summer day. There is also tons of outdoor seating for those who enjoy some sunshine/fresh air. The buildings all have very cool designs and are photo worthy! Bring the family! LoL It was actually recommended to me at my last stop, and I love me some bourbon and whiskey so it was a no brainer. However, if bourbon isn't your thing they also have options for the gin, vodka and non alcoholic lovers in your group! Something for everyone I'd say! That being said, I took off a star mostly because the line was stupid long. They definitely could have, and should have had more than just one single file line for us to get a drink, I spent half my time in line. My husband and I went on their distillery tour yesterday. It was a lot of fun and in addition to a free drink we got to sample everything during the tour. We got to see how it was all made and stored. Very interesting! The spacious grounds are very pleasant and we were blessed with a beautiful day. The workers there were extremely polite. First stop on my distillery tour where I had read this place had a bbq restaurant. It was around lunchtime and drove out to Dripping Springs. I pull into this place which looked like a typical hill country homestead to find a spectacular place. The parking lot is gravel so may get muddy in wet weather. You walk onto the grounds where can just roam around. They have a picnic tables, playground, bar inside a barn structure, and what looks like a ranch house turned into a BBQ restaurant called Alice's Restaurant. The place is amazing. I ordered smoked brisket and pulled pork shoulder, and an Austin Tea Party made with their own sweet tea vodka. The meat was excellent and so was the drink. It's the best of both worlds to enjoy both in a setting with a huge projection tv showing sports. After eating we walked back outside to see a huge green space used for things like their annual Kite Festival. They also have an outdoor stage. The actual distillery is next door and can peek in. The barn structure bar is pretty cool too. The gift shop was close temporarily so could not explo I purchased a whole bottle of Red-Handed Bourbon to take home with me. It's one of my favorites. I will definitely return to eat good bbq and enjoy a drink or two. read more

Took the hike out here with some friends who were in town and also big whiskey fans and while it was a bit of a hike it was totally worth it. I started with the Treat Oak Ghost Hill neat after seeing it in stores a couple times and it was perfectly smooth. Next I tried the Spiced Old Fashioned from the cocktail bar and it did not disappoint. I really liked the addition of the cinnamon stick, it added the perfect amount of "winter" vibe to the drink to match the cool weather. The offered a distillery tour that we wanted to go on but it started a bit to late for us, since we were there early. I had such high expectations for this place, but it did not live up to even "medium expectations". :( My husband and I met some friends down here, as they live in Dripping Springs. Now, let me state, this was a VERY HOT day..around 100. Now, I have been too a few of these outdoor type food and drink places, and shocked they have succeeded. In Texas, unlike other states where average temp is in the mid 70's..here it seems to always be above 80 at very least, and then it can rain at any minute (and gone the next), and lovely bugs everywhere! UGH But, this place is set up very strangely, in that you have a few "buildings" that are spread out, like you are on a camp ground. Once you get into the gate...you go waaaayyyy back to park. Once you get in, you look for signs to see what is what. We got there right when our tour was starting, in one of the side buildings (had to call our friends, as could not find where tour started). Now the building we were in, was like a big barn and though covered, had big openings on 3 of the 4 sides of the building. The tour guide even had one of those towels you can wear around the neck with water to keep you cool. As he was talking, the two other couples and ourselves were getting very hot. He had us try some Gin (which did not know until we were here they had, we thought they just had whiskey), and some whiskey. Actually liked the Gin better then their whiskey! At the end of the tour, you could go into the Mercantile building to get a free drink. They had a board to show what drinks they provided (and ONLY got to get one of those, not any other drinks). When we asked for our drinks, they said only 2 of the 4 were available. :( . Then, in this nice A/C building they only had two seating areas, and both were occupied. The bar area , was roped off, and it looks like they had a tasting going on. I needed to sit down, but could not in there. My friends said there was building next to us, where you could get any drinks, and sit, or can go to restaurant. We looked across at the open building, and said, "no, want A/C". So we walked down this dirt hill, passing by the picnic tables, which I guess you could eat outside (NOPE, not today). We got inside, and you seat yourself. You have to use your phone to order off the QR code on the middle of the table (* I really hate these...get REAL menus)! When, we got our food, all of us were disappointed in what each of us got. The cucumber salad was like over vinegary, the mac and cheese tasted like out of a box, the chicken fried steak was wayyyy over cooked, and the 2 meat platter, was one rib and like small piece of brisket. We sat in there for awhile just to cool down and use restroom (which everybody got confused, as you walk in, thought it was one room style, so had people outside, then realized it had stalls..LOL). So, our friends wanted to go home, but we wanted to try out some other drinks. We walked back up the hill, and the open building on the left was closed. We asked people in the Mercantile, and they said they had a couple employees get heat exhaustion! I felt bad for them, working in this heat..and no A/C! So, we decided to leave too! We did buy a couple bottles of Gin to take home, as they seemed the best they had. We sat at picnic tables for minute, and had to use restroom and did not want to walk all the way back down to restaurant, and saw signs for restroom off the right. They were not outhouse, but close to it. Again, no A/C and you walk in like a campsite bathroom with doors that barely opened, and fan was just blowing hot air around. Could not wait to get out of there! We won't be coming back. I say to the owners...invest in CLOSED buildings with A/C! Texas is only getting to get hotter, and going to lose customers (and maybe some of your employees)! read more

What a cool place! We visited here with a group of 18 girls on a bachelorette party and had a great time. We loved the open space, the live music, the craft cocktail house and the snacks! We all agreed the nachos from Alice's restaurant were the best we have ever had. We ordered both the brisket & the veggie (bean). Also, they have a variety of chips and dips you can order from the mercantile shop. Stopped by Treaty Oak on a recent Saturday afternoon. Really cool vibe, outdoor music was rockin'! We stopped in the Merch room, and tried a flight of the Waterloo gins. Yaupon, No.9 and Antique. Very different and unique tasting gins. Personal favorites were the Yaupon and the No. 9, both flavored with local botanicals, and the No. 9 included a wisp of pecans. The Antique version was a bit to much for our taste, we're not big bourbon drinkers, but we could easily see how that gin could be a hit. We tried the Basil Blossom and Texas Buck cocktails per the bartender's recommendation. The Blossom is made with No.9 and the Buck is made with Antique. Both drinks were delicious! The bourbon notes in the Antique in the Buck were muted nicely by the cranberry, rosemary, lime and ginger beer! A fun place, we'll go back. The only downside we saw is there really is not anything kid-focused there, so likely not a good stop for folks with kids along. read more

It was a cold Austin day , so we decided to discover more about this Waterloo Gin that we had enjoyed during our time in Texas. Treaty Oak didn't disappoint. Michael was our knowledgeable server that walked us through our Gin flight that they distill on site. Whiskey available as well. There are a number of signature cocktails made with each spirit and something for everyone. We also ordered their brisket nachos, which are a MUST!! Cool place!!! We were here with our Barks for Beers passes, so we only tried the beer, but we'd love to come back and try the cocktails! The building on the left as you walk up is air conditioned, just fyi. I got the impression that the non-air-conditioned building on the right had more options, but we were happy to cool down a little and found some beer we enjoyed. We also sat at the table closest to the front entrance and found it to be perfect because it's completely shaded and gets a nice breeze. However there are beautiful clusters of trees on the property that provide nice shade as well. Dog friendly!!! read more

Whiskey, whiskey, and more whiskey! I've been to vineyards for wine tastings, but never to a distillery until now. The experience is similar. They have a tasting room with well-versed, educated servers who can give you the lowdown on the various whiskeys available. My guy and I are not whiskey drinkers, but we really enjoyed tasting and learning about the process. The grounds are clean and well maintained with ample parking. There's a large restaurant with bar service as well. We went out to hear a band one Saturday afternoon, and hang out before the blistering summer sun hits central Texas. The venue is family-friendly- there were lots of kids, and dogs, picnic tables, frisbees flying, and balls being thrown. You can bring along your own camp chair too. I did love that they had flushing toilets and not just port-a-potties. Thank you! You can also tour the distillery itself.
