Sure, you can go to RifleGear or buy one off the shelf, but you learn more by doing and since most people change some aspect(s) of their rifle, might as well build one. It's always nice to be able to touch/feel/manipulate stuff. Sure buying online is great, but being able to handle different compliant stocks (damn you de Leon!) before making a purchasing decision is always nice. Seeing all those complete uppers make me feel like a fat hungry guy at an all-you-can-eat buffet. 80% lowers, uppers, barrels, sights, optics, swag, stocks, muzzle devices. If they had a JP buffer system I would've picked that up too. Brenden (sp?) was cool as hell, even gave me a primer on AR lubrication and BCG assembly/disassembly (I'm new to the platform). Tried to do a private party transfer there and they required seller to have a FSC which isn't required. Wouldn't give seller the test to get the FSC because it was 5 o'clock, an hour before they closed. The time they spent saying no seller could have taken the test 3x over and transfer could have been completed. Complained about not making money on transfers so they did everything they could to not make it happen. Word to the wise you would have made a lot more money on future business by making the PPT happen. The firearms situation isn't going to always be this crazy and when it settles down you're gonna wish you would have treated your customers better. I will go well out of my way to never patronize them going forward. read more

This shop is super sketchy. I didn't realize it but the signs should have been there. Other shops in the area are usually pretty busy and this place was pretty dead. Also the way the windows are covered up so you can't see anything inside. This place will sell you all the parts for guns banned in California, you just build it yourself. A loophole to sell you illegal guns. But hey maybe that's your thing. It's not my thing to get sold a gun by some kids who barely turned 21. Maybe we went on an off day but it didn't seem to me that they were super knowledgeable. Also sketchy, they don't refund you if you don't pass background check. They keep your money and the gun. Most shops will refund you minus "restocking/processing" fee. This place will literally spend an hour convincing you to just buy the gun because they keep the money anyways. There are much more reputable places in the area. I'm assuming the high marks are from desperate or paranoid people. read more

I bought a complete upper with a melonite BCG (I believe the barrel is also treated because it's a lot smoother to the touch than my DD barrel, but I'm not sure). I got the FDE cerakote upper. Super awesome service and a great fat discount. For what really matters: the upper shot well and very smooth at the range. I was pleasantly surprised because it's comparable to my DDM4V11. I will definitely be shopping here again and I highly recommend this store. Two thumbs up! read more

Purchased a Marlin 30/30 in March 13 2020 and I picked it up on the 24th and to my luck they sold me a broken rifle. Ok no worries it could happen right! So the took it to the gunsmith that same day ! Ohh and it broke When they were showing me how to work the rifle ! I never caulked the rifle and never left the store! Ok no worries but it's almost 5 months and still no rifle and they can't even give me a update on it. So theres a rifle out there under my name ‍ and no one can give me a update ! At the time the store in nacional city didn't have the license to sell firearms so I when to Oceanside and nope shouldn't have done that so I recommend to take a drive and go to the one in San Diego National City way better I built a AR -15 with all there parts and I purchased a FN 57 with them and great service they actually give you update on what you purchased and great service not like Oceanside store. read more

I was shoping aroun for a 308 upper and no shop around had one sl i called firearms unknown and they said they had multiple ones when i got there 20 min later they only had there "in house upper" and it was $899 the guy was such an ashole he wouldnt let me inspected but it looked new so i told him ill take it and ill take a whole lower parts kit an he just grabed the thing and bagged them asap it came out to $1185.25 and when i handed him the cash he spent aroun five min checking the 12 $100 dollar bills i gave him with a pen multiple times and looking at them with an uv light and what made me feel humiliated was when he went to the back to get the fucking money counter and ran the bills multiple times at tha point people were staring and i just got my change and left ashole also gave me ar15 lpk instead of ar10 lpk and the right side of the upper was rusted fuck this place if it wasnt for my brother waiting monts to go shoot i would have never boughten that upper that day racist employes read more

They had some silly reason but I think it was just one more reason they don't want to waste time with transfers. Looked like a nice shopt and they had a chance to gain a customer.
