The crew really hustled and was cheerful, and what I appreciated most was that they were very careful about not banging doorways and walls, and they were willing to rework placement of furniture per my direction after it was already placed initially. They also were smart with suggestions for best placement based on function, e.g., rotating the sectional so it could fit and identifying where the powered recliners would get most use, etc. I took away one star because I didn't appreciate having to pay for their round trip travel and gas when I already was paying for a multi-hour move job, and the fact they had individual crew members leave early with no advance notice to me. read more

My uncle was an Omaha Fire Captain, Tom Clines. Our family always supports firefighters. That said, our experience with Firefighters On The Move was extremely disappointing. We were given an estimate for how long it would take to move our belongings to our new home, yet even with two trucks and 6+ guys, they didn't get the job done. Out of 6 TVs, 3 were left behind (2 on the wall). My wife and I made many trips - in our own vehicles - to save time, and no final walkthrough was ever made by the guys to ensure we were completely moved. After they left, we found they had forgotten to move an ENTIRE ROOM. Unpacking has also been unpleasant. Nothing (save for some boxes in the kitchen, storage room, and big pieces of furniture) is where it was supposed to be. We marked the boxes CLEARLY. I have been moving boxes marked for the basement from our upstairs kitchen, items in the basement meant for the upstairs, and items just arbitrarily left "wherever," for days. On a trip back to our former home, I found all of the items stored on an elevated space in the garage left behind. They had already taken both of my ladders, leaving me to borrow one from a former neighbor, to get the items down myself. When the ESTIMATED time was up, they left - job unfinished. We would have happily paid more than the estimate to have the job done right. Instead, we had to procure help from our neighbors and use their truck for gours afterward. I think my two stars is generous. We paid what was owed, and even a $50 per person tip. We did our part. I could never recommend this company for a move to anyone. The guys were friendly, but the buck stops there. read more

WOW! These guys were amazing. We moved my niece from a 3rd floor, steep walk-up to a downtown loft building with winding hallways, and an elevator that required wait-time. Jake and Logan were so efficient, so fast, so accommodating! Each time they dropped a load into the truck, they literally ran up 3 flights -- over and over. Very FIT guys!! We paid by the hour and they were more conscious of the time than we were. They had tools and helped put the bed frame back together. Their truck is meticulously clean and well-maintained. The scheduler, Kevin called me back to confirm and on the move-day called to be sure the team had arrived. They are A-1, classy, top-notch professionals and you will be very happy with them. Good experience with our move. I'm 5 months pregnant so we hired this group to more us for 2 hrs, just to get the biggest items that there was no way I could help with. We were surprised when three 20 year old looking guys showed, but they worked really hard. No question. The price was just shy of $400, when we were expecting it to be $350. The $400 was for 2 hours, 3 guys, a truck and they wrapped our furniture in clear wrap. Nothing broke, a couple Knicks in the walls but nothing terrible. They worked hard getting our King mattress up the stairs. Fyi they charge for travel time even within city limits which seems crazy to me. So if it takes 15 min to get to and from your house for them, you pay an extra 30 minutes at the same rate as if they were moving you...that was the most disappointing part. We knew that ahead of time, but still seemed crazy. I understand if they need to charge travel (if they feel they have to) but should be at a much lower hourly rate since it's just driving and no manual labor. read more

Best movers we have ever used! We had about a half dozen large pieces of extremely heavy furniture that needed to be shifted around and/or moved into a newly-finished basement family room. The three young guys who took on the challenge were very polite and pleasant to work with, completing the job in less than 90 minutes. They worked very well together as a team and took great care to protect walls and furniture. Their prices are very fair. Highly recommended! read more

At the beginning the guys were great, 8 men 3 trucks but when unloading, I had a scratched up stand up defreeze. It was in mint condition before the move. I have a remote control bed and they did not put it back the way they took it apart. I know have to find someone to put the bed back together again. $$$$ more money. I also have a large umbrella with 4 100 pound bags that go in the base to find them not in the base I had to put them in myself. Also finding scratches on my new home that were not there before. I had them put things in the garage as I was not sure where I wanted them placed to find things broke and thrown on top of other things. read more

Firefighters On the Move was recommended to me by a coworker. She had used them twice and was very happy. After receiving quotes from several companies, I decided to go with FOTM, even though other companies were a lot cheaper. We were moving an entire contents of a house to a new home about 40 minutes away. Due to the distance, they recommended 2 trucks and 5 men. The move went okay but it could have been better. First of all, they didn't send men, they sent boys. Okay, that is harsh. They were certainly adults but they were very young. They didn't seem to possess the common sense needed to be efficient in a move. No one seemed to be in charge and everyone kind of did their own thing. One of them decided our refrigerator wouldn't fit through door unless he took off all of its doors. I'm estimating it took an hour to remove the doors and another hour to put them back on after it was moved into our new house. So we spent $72 just to move one appliance. We told him it was delivered with the doors on and maybe he should measure before removing the doors, but he wouldn't listen. The other major thing is they were not properly trained on what should be placed on the truck and what shouldn't. They tried to load up gas cans with gas still in them but we caught that. They did end up loading and moving our kerosene heater with kerosene still in it, and a gas powered trimmer with gas still in it. They are not supposed to move combustible items because they could cause a fire, but they could also leak and damage of items in the truck. Either gas or grease did end up on our comforter. Luckily I was able to wash it out. This is not the first time we moved and used a moving company. It just seemed like this move was a little more chaotic and unorganized than the other moves. At the end of the day, all of our belongings made it to our new house, mostly in the same condition as before the move. But, if we move again, I will not use this company. read more

These guys are absolutely fantastic. Not a scratch or ding on anything. They have the best attitude and are genuinely the nicest guys. I have done other moves with popular movers for my small business and my mother-in-law and could tell you horror stories. Not the case with these guys they should be called the dream movers because that's how they perform and then they helped us arrange and rearrange the furniture they delivered.
