I had more miscellaneous scratches than expected on wooden floors and dinged the paint. But I would not have left a bad review based on that. When the crew arrived, they told me that they didn't have enough time to do my move because they had a seven hour move scheduled afterwards. I told them that I had described the situation to the estimator, saying that I could tell them the big items but simply had no idea how many boxes I would have. She suggested a number and gave me an hourly rate which I found acceptable, assuming that they would stay until the work was done at that hourly rate. Instead, I got 2/3 of my house moved. Some of that was my fault because I could've been more accurate if I had been finished packing when I made the appointment, but based on the shear number of rooms and large items I described the estimator could've done a much better job, or told me to call back as the moving day got closer so that I could update the estimate to assure enough time. Even if that, I would've gone back to the devil I knew too to finish the move. There were a few things that needed to be corrected from the move the prior weekend that I assumed they would do when they came back out, but when I called the next week to schedule the second move, the estimator he told me that he would charge for it in my current move despite the fact that it was work was left undone from the previous move. When I noted this, he said that they would've sent a crew out at no charge but they couldn't do it for free when they were sending new crew out. That was the final straw and I decided to use a different company.

That was the past experiences. This is now. I recently used this company to move from a 2 bedroom apartment to another 2 bedroom apartment (simple move). It was absolutely horrific. First of all, the movers were two hours late. I realize this happens in business. It's life. The problem is that the "crew" that was moving me did not call to update me on this which put our move right around rush hour traffic as opposed to 115pm which is when they were supposed to be there. I suppose I could get past this if it was the only thing that happened. Here's the more important items about the move: the 3 movers in my "crew" were unprofessional, very slow, very unmotivated, they tore my leather couch in more than 1 place (pictures attached), they chipped a very expensive custom frame I had made for an art piece, they damaged 2 lights in the elevator in my new building, they literally said (BEFORE THEY UNLOADED MY LEATER COUCH FROM THEIR TRUCK) that it would not be able to fit in the elevator or stairwell (lo and behold after I paid them each $40 cash or $120 total) the couch suddenly was able to make it from their truck to my apartment (with gouges/rips in two distinct areas -- pictures attached). In addition to this, the office quote that I received wasn't realistic to the actual time by about 2-3 hours and I had the movers take less items than I originally had quoted because I could see how poorly this move was going to be. I have not received a call back or acknowledgement of my disappointment in terms of professionalism and the damages to property. I should have refused to pay but I wasn't sure what to do as I felt somewhat hostage because I was at the mercy of the movers (once they have your belongings and start the move you're basically stuck with them. Unfortunately, there's no pause or shut-off button. As a part of life, moving has to be one of the top 5 most stressful things a healthy individual will go through. Two Men and A Truck managed to make this already expensive experience extremely stressful, unpleasant, etc. I will never use this company again and I wouldn't let a family member or friend use them either. I would have been better off canceling the move when the unprofessional, tardy, and sloppy movers got to my starting property and delayed the move until I found another company. But hindsight is 20/20. Terrible experience. I wouldn't have used these guys for free let alone $900 plus. I feel violated and bewildered about this whole moving experience. For me, it's not about the money it's purely about the principal. $900 for a terrible and miserable experience with goods damaged is unacceptable.

***BEWARE*** Hired MMS on Feb 27, 2023 for a move and paid a…read more$300 deposit the same day. They were to arrive on March 5 at 11am. At 1240 I sent a text that they were over 1.5 hours late with no contact At 2:11 I asked for a refund as we still had not contact and wouldn't need them any longer There were several attempts at calling as well, at approx 3pm I received a call from them that there was a problem with their last move and "the police had his phone" and he promised to refund 3/5 4:40pm asked why I hadn't seen the refund yet 3/6 9:30 PM asked why I hadn't seen the refund yet 3/7 They replied that they were in North Dakota and would refund that afternoon 3/8 requested the refund again Yesterday asked again and still no refund, and no communication. July 3, 2023 still no response and no refund. Just stole money and no regard for their customers.

Today I called and said I was upset with this situation. 7/12/19 4:43 pm Ken (owner, Manager, president, whoever) called and yelled at me for 8 minutes and 30 seconds, about leaving this review. He said his lawyer was pissed and I would be getting paperwork about defaming him. He was also making excuses for the movers being in 100 plus temperatures that day. According to Accu Weather, the high was 84 that day. He said he would call me tomorrow morning (7/13/19) "when he cools down", that he had been mad since he read my review. Mobile phone was on speaker phone and I do have a witness. 7/13/19. 11:34 am I HAD TO CALL AND LEAVE KEN A MESSAGE BECAUSE, AS USUAL, NO CALL FROM HIM. He did call (11:42am 7/13/2019)and tell me he was sending the insurance claim form. 7/13/19 12:42 PM recieved instructions on how to proceed with 1st step. INSURANCE CLAIM IS THE 6TH STEP, so I may be dealing with this for another 2 months. I Sent photos of furniture and building damage, as requested.

His original guesstimate based on real numbers provided by me: about 10 items like couch, queen bed, bureau, coffee table, 2 bar stools, a small desk, coffee table, rug and 12-14 boxes. Then I emailed and said 2 couches because my daughter was given one for her new place. Nick's guesstimate was $245. ( see attached) I thought jeez that's not alot so no problem with an extra 10% weekend fee. Nick was very aware, per our discussion, about long hallway and walk to loading zone at first apartment. Loading zone and easy access at new apartment with reserved elevator. It took Kennedy and Jonathan over 3 hrs to load items onto truck. They had to do probably 6 more trips to load due to only having a dolly each. No flatbed. Kennedy and Jonathan moved mattress and heavy couch on a dolly. I was surprised an experienced and allegedly best moving company per pompous and rude owner, Nick, didn't provide a single flat bed. I would not have used this company if I knew owner provided only 2 dollys. It's unrealistic to move apartments and homes without flatbeds. The longer it takes benefits Nick 's bottom line. One flatbed could have moved 12 boxes with one trip. The dolly handled 4 boxes and increased the number of trips. Flatbed could have moved everything else in 2 trips. Instead of loading 10+ boxes on a flatbed these guys could only load 4 on each dolly making numerous trips. I've never seen a mattress being moved on a dolly. Pretty difficult to balance it moving down hallways. So the move became over 800.00, 3+ hrs to load at first site and 2 at new apt. (see attached) Nick also didn't send contract prior to move. He had the mover bring it and do the unpleasant job of informing you that you must sign understanding that if Budget Moving damages any items you will be paid a whopping 30 cents per pound - I stand corrected from pre edit, However, per lb is worse than per dollar. So your antique lamp worth $1000 gets damaged. 30 cents per lb is about $1.80. A contract presented at the time of moving when you've made plans is putting the customer "under the gun" so to speak. I consider this in legalese, "signing a contract under duress."When I asked Nick about the 3% merchant charge that he never mentioned, I couldn't get a word in, he was beyond defensive and was probably the rudest person I've ever experienced. A know it all, braggart and beyond rude. I told him he did not mention this charge and if I'd known, I would have brought cash, so i'm not paying it. He kept rambling about his 5 star reviews and his experience. Blah, blah, blah. Well, his overall rating is 3 on most review sites. With all his experience and business acumen, one would assume he could provide you with a close guesstimate instead of your cost being nearly 3x his "quote." Reminds me of the old bait and switch tactic. He then rambled on that he has top reviews and I responded, " Not anymore." Nick responded, "I doubt your negative review will affect my business. " I responded. "We'll see." This is an honest and factual review. See attached his guesstimate with so many caveats; it can rise or fall depending on traffic, weight of boxes, number of items, distance moving to load truck. Then see final charges. The only positive was that our movers were excellent. Kennedy and Jonathon were professional, friendly, polite and very hard working. Not sure how they can work for anyone as unprofessional and rude as Nick. Thank you Kennedy and Jonathan. You were a pleasure. I was told that even waiting a few more days would increase the cost. Holiday pricing was never framed as a premium issue to justify subpar staffing or service. I also never rescheduled the packing at the last minute, nor did I delay the crew because my home "was not ready." I did not need extra time to clean, and I did not prevent the crew from working efficiently. I have no idea where this claim is coming from, and it is not accurate. More importantly, none of the core issues raised in my review were meaningfully addressed: the decision to send one person to pack a three-bedroom, two-bath home; the lack of oversight; the dismissive and condescending communication; and the clear conflict of interest in supervision (the "supervisor" being the manager's wife). Those were management choices, not client-caused problems. I did not file a formal claim for every broken or missing item because I had already spent an extraordinary amount of time dealing with this company during an extremely stressful move and home sale. Choosing not to prolong that experience does not invalidate the condition in which my belongings were packed and delivered. Finally, the response itself is telling. The company was fully aware that my belongings were being delivered directly into storage--where liability is conveniently limited--and the packing quality reflected that reality. Poor labeling, careless packing, and insufficient protection of fragile and valuable items were evident immediately upon unpacking. I stand by my review. The attempt to rewrite what happened only reinforces my experience. Do not use this company.

Not only was the furniture damaged, but many of our items were not wrapped or protected at all. From the start, the packing job looked careless. Boxes were stacked without regard to weight, items were wobbling in the truck, and furniture that we specifically pointed out as expensive or fragile was left unwrapped. I even climbed into the truck myself and could clearly see that it was not packed properly. One of the movers (I believe his name was Rusty) appeared to be brand new and repeatedly dropped boxes while loading. At one point clothing items were literally scattered across the yard because he dropped them coming down the ramp. It was incredibly frustrating to watch. There were two other movers -- I think their names were Quintin and Axel. Only one of them was polite and apologetic. The other was extremely dismissive and arrogant. Every time my mom or I raised concerns about wrapping furniture or packing items more securely, he brushed us off and repeatedly reassured us that he had been doing this for 11 years and that everything was fine. We even labeled the boxes ''Fragile" or "Nothing on Top"- as pictured below. Clearly, it was not. Despite our multiple requests to properly wrap furniture and secure fragile items, those requests were ignored. Now we're left unpacking a truck full of damaged belongings that could have easily been prevented with basic care and professionalism. This experience was careless, frustrating, and incredibly disappointing. When you trust a company with your home and belongings, you expect at the very least that they will handle them with care. That did not happen here. I would not recommend this company to anyone. PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE.
