The breakfast menu had so many choices it was hard to decide. My husband had the locomoco with corned beef hash and I had pancakes and sausage. The locomoco was covered in an amazing country gravy and was perfectly made with an egg, corned beef hash and rice. The pancakes were light and perfectly golden brown. We didn't have breakfast yet and used Yelp to find this place! It was our first time here. I also didn't realize this was a mom & pop cafe owned by a Korean couple! Super nice to support a local business. When walking in, the restaurant looked old timey, with lots of firefighter-related portraits and decor on the walls (it's because the place is located right across from a fire station). It's a cozy and comfortable place with wooden tables, ceiling, and parts of the wall. The lights above are those living room lights with fans attached. It looks like they're in good condition! Luckily, we were able to secure a spot since there was a large party that left before we came. The owner was super nice. He welcomed us when we walked in, was very friendly and suggested trying their new special that just started today: bulgogi plate! He provided us great and speedy service! ***TIP: We had a nice conversation with him and he suggested we enter/exit from Missouri Flat rd. to avoid the very wind-y Hwy 49 (which we took upon arrival and it was an adventure). Just a tip for everyone else who are planning to come here. *** We got the Bulgogi plate and Country fried steak. 9.8/10 Bulgogi plate: I love the marination of the bulgogi meat. It was flavorful, savory, and the sauce wasn't overpowering. The sweetness from the onions and carrots compliment the bulgogi meat, it was really good. For me, I was surprised that the egg omelet was very tasty and greatly seasoned! It was on par with the bulgogi meat- it was that good. It had corn, carrot, and peas in the omelet, but it was finely diced you don't taste the texture of the vegetables in the omelet. The fried rice had the same vegetables in there as well, but it wasn't flavorful and the rice was a bit too crunchy/dry. I understand the use of day old rice and there are preferences for crunchy/scorched rice in Korean cuisine. The rice isn't my preference, but it might be to someone else. The highlight of this dish to me was the bulgogi and omelet! 10/10 Country fried steak: This dish's portion was huge! It's a beef country fried steak, in case anyone was wondering if it's beef or chicken. The beef was cooked thoroughly and seasoned well. The hashbrowns were golden brown, savory and delicious. I heard many great things about their gravy in their reviews. The gravy was delicious! It was a standard gravy to me, but it had a good consistency and nice texture. The toast that came with the dish were buttered! I loved how tasty the toast is. Overall, I thoroughly loved this place and would definitely come back again. We finally tried this locally owned breakfast place. It's been a long time coming. We came here on Memorial Day for late breakfast. It was really good. A little outdated inside but gives it that charm, and definitely locals come here. It kind of smelled like old grease outside of building though. It's a mom and pop place they've own for almost 2 decades. Hubby had Loco Moco, which we've never tried before, and it was really good. I had a potato scramble without the eggs, which was excellent as well. The owner served us and the wife cooks in the kitchen. What's interesting, Is the fire department across the street rarely comes in there from what he told us, which is odd for the name of the café. Anyways, we will be back. Cooked and served in restaurants for 22 years. Owned restaurants. I would never want to do any harm to a mom and pop shop. But this is egregious. So, here goes: Breakfast burritos were not as advertised. It was like leftover taco meat in a very, very messy wrap. Hash browns were oily. We ordered them crispy and they were just burnt. They forgot my son's fries. Probably for the best, considering it's the cheap crinkle-cut fries. But we paid for them. Husband's Super burger was completely bland and unseasoned. Biscuits and gravy is a staple in my southern family and these were burnt. Like-burnt, burnt.
