Very bright and clean restaurant. Good variety of sandwiches. I ordered the hot pastrami 6" sandwich which came out to about $13 total. When the sandwich came out it was hot and the bread was crisp and fresh. What surprised me a bit was how little meat was on the sandwich. I have never received a pastrami (or any meat) sandwich which came with so little meat. It looked like a single slice of pastrami folded in half. Second time here and the Pastrami #5 is for sure a favorite! The chicken poblano soup on Friday's is amazing and a must have especially when it's a little cooler during the fall and winter months. The restaurant is clean, a super solid menu for a sandwich shop as well. To be honest I was going to go get a sandwich at subway across the street but the employees at subway in Pollock Pines don't even speak English. Insanity. Shout to Sierra Sourdough! Was craving a sourdough sandwich and they did not disappoint. They have a big sign just as you come in to downtown Apollo b Pines on Pony Express from the Sly Park exit. They're in the CVS strip mall and neighbors with C&T which is another great place that we love to get breakfast at. The staff are friendly and efficient. They check on you to make sure everything is OK. Love that they have a self service fountain machine for soda. I had a 8 inch brisket on sourdough and made it a meal with soft drink and soup. I got the clam chowder which was just the right viscosity and dipping in some sourdough bread in it instead of crackers was a delight surprise. Overall great place. Love the remodeled space. Sierra Sourdough kills it, with the very freshest ingredients, and the very BEST bread. I first want to say that this place has be awesome up until last night. I have been here about 6 times now and have not had any problems. Last night I went to pick up my order of 3 sandwiches + side pickles and a bowl of clam chowder. Once I got home I realized that I did not have my soup or side pickles and the sandwiches didn't have half the vegetables and meat that I have had every time before. One of the sandwiches has no sierra sauce and non of them were cut in half. I really do love this place and love supporting a small business but, hope that employees can give the same service as they do when a manager is present. read more
