Spent over 4K for two (2) shower doors/enclosures and to level out a third shower door for free. Made arrangements with the owner on site for him to do the job. When the date and time came for the job to be completed, two (2) others came out, with no invoice/work order showing the leveling of the third shower door, and no knowledge of any warranty. When asked where the owner was, I was told, "Don't worry about it, the A Team is here." The job was completed, and the third shower door was leveled, after telling the two they needed to do it before getting paid, which gave the impression of being very inconvenient to them, and after I had to tell them to caulk more around the top and side of another shower door they installed, which had none and was open for water to slip behind, the two left with the payment and I was given an invoice/work order, with no written warranty. When the business was called and asked why the owner wasn't there as we agreed to, I was told, "He's very busy." When asked why the two that came out new nothing about leveling the third shower door, I was told, "Just a miscommunication and warranty information was given verbally. When asked why I needed to tell the two workers to caulk the top and sides of one of the shower doors, I was told, " It's just an easy fix and wasn't intentional." read more

When my husband and I lived in Ramona and built a custom home, I was very pleased with Firehouse Glass in Screen, but then after losing two husbands and getting older, I moved to Oceanside. The coffee table I had had a glass top and there were scratches in it and I thought I would replace it and give the business to Firehouse because they always served us well. I call them and told them that I needed a new replacement glass for my coffee table and I measured the coffee table I had, and drove up there to pick it up and I was very alarmed at the quality of the glass. They should've known what was suitable for a coffee table. I trusted their judgment, and they failed me. The woman that took my call placed the order never gave me any options or suggested anything different to me the customer. What do I know about product availability is this a great opportunity it was no sale pitch or anything. I drove up there to pick it up and I was very displeased with the final product. I'd like to explain my side of it. I personally believe that when you have a sales person that knows their products that they should give you the options of what is available I will take full responsibility for not knowing what the options were and I just asked them for a tempered glass for a coffee table and I assumed that they would give me my options and the best there was and that was my mistake. In a situation like this, I think that Brooks should've wrote it off and made his customer happy, he made a lot of money over the years from my husband and I and this one purchase that I made on the phone I truly was expecting a quality piece of glass and Brooks was rude and disrespectful and really didn't even care about the environment either he picked that piece up and was gonna throw it in the trashcan until I told him to stop. So that piece of glass is sitting on the inside of my garage in the same wrapping that it came in and has never been touched and I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. Glass is not an easy thing to get rid of. Brooks a little message to you, instead of having a heart of stone to a. 80-year-old woman I think you could've showed a little compassion and I believe you showed a flaw in your character. My husband and I provided you employment by purchasing lots of items that we were always very happy with and you tainted your character by doing this to me. We helped you over the years get started by purchasing thousands of dollars worth of glass products and installation and you could've helped me and just reimbursed my $135 to my credit card but you didn't. Sad decision on your part. I believe Customer Service is right there on top and product knowledge is right up there also. You purchased that company and worked for them for many years this is not the way to treat your customers especially when it was only $135. That's why you got a three star and not a five star. I would've gladly have given you a five star if you had a reimbursed my $135. You didn't seem to think that my bad review was going to bother your business because Firehouse was the best in Ramona when we lived there it was owned by a different family. If anybody sees this, I would love to get rid of that piece of glass at any price. Thank you. read more

Do not use this company! They do not care about their customers! Purchased a home that had window issues. Prior to closing escrow, we have Firehouse glass inspect the home and they provided a quote. There quote indicated a price and a time frame of 5 to 8 weeks. The sellers gave us a credit towards the windows and we closed escrow. After we closed escrow, I sent Firehouse Glass an email asking them to proceed. They sent out a technician, who reinspected the house and took all the measurements. We waited and waited for an install date. After three months, I sent them a follow up and...... was told the owner thinks the windows are too difficult, but wishes me luck in finding someone else? The guys showed up within the 2 hour time frame they gave us- which unfortunately is not often the norm. Our sliding glass door frame pulled apart; the door was inoperable. Husband thought maybe we needed a header installed due to a sag after all these years. Nope! The guys were able to remove the glass door, re-install the frame & make the adjustments so that it rolls smoothly. They even adjusted the sliding screen door. She said it depended on several things, but I would probably have to leave it and come back later. Called My Mason friend and he directed me to them. They were the third contractor I had estimates from. The first one said 800 the second 640 and they came in at 350 to replace a large window. I looked at their work and everything was A-OK. We also had them do the upstairs shower and screens. These guys have 20 years in the biz and live in lower cost Ramona. I didn't get charged the higher price for living in the more expensive area. Their work was tops. Everything was cleaned up and the fixing of stucco and new tiles the other contractors warned about .........wasn't needed. read more

Poor customer service and quality of work!!! I've only used them for glass replacement in pictures (twice). It took 3 days to cut the glass replacement, and when I went to pick the picture up, they had not mounted the new glass into the frame. I guess when you bring your picture in and ask for the broken glass to be replaced, you have to specifically tell them to take the old broken glass out and mount the new piece of glass. I ended up having to leave the frame with them another week, just to get the new glass mounted into the frame... I never received a phone call that it was ready, so a week later I went in on my own to pick it up. The paper on the back of the frame had to be cut in order to replace the glass, and was left untaped and sloppy. They took a chunk of the wood out of the back of the frame and didn't clean the glass, so now there's lint and streaks behind the glass. I'm not sure, but it appears they don't have time to be bothered with a little $10 job. I will never use them for any other services they provide, due to their poor attention to detail on such a small job. read more

I have an 8' exterior doorwall that was getting increasingly difficult to slide along the track. It is too heavy for me to remove myself. Firehouse came out and replaced both sets of rollers that I assume were original to the 25 year old house. It turns out there was a lot of dirt in the wheel bearings, and the roller assembly frame was even bent. The door now continues to roll a bit even after pushing it in either direction. They said they were happy to do it and did not want me to pay them. They are two kind, friendly and caring brothers. I have been dealing with them for three years now replacing our windows in our home.
