Fisher and a 2nd company were about the same price and a third was almost twice. Based on their positive reviews, their promptness in getting back, and their quote, we went with Fisher. The entire process was flawless - as good as one could imagine. They came to make the measurement, determined the tint of the other windows to insure a match, and installed a replacement within ten days of taking the measurements. Rick and his co-worker were a pleasure to deal with, as was the office, that kept us aprised of the schedule. This was one of the best experiences I've ever had for a home repair/service company. Highly recommend.

They gave me a bid and committed to the job before seeing it- they actually refused to come out before hand. After the deposit was paid they came out, measured and said to expect an installation in about 3 days. Their communication is abysmal. After 5 days of not hearing from them I called and emailed. Crickets. They finally responded when I asked if they'd stolen our money. They replied that it was a difficult job and they were trying to get a mirror company to do the work. As it turns out they only install product, which they never mentioned. No one would cut the glass for them so they couldn't do the job they committed to. I tried to make another option work but that wasn't happening. They made 2 trips to the house for a job they couldn't perform and tried to take $350 in trip charges out of the deposit, which was never discussed. That's obviously egregious especially because it wasn't like we just changed our minds. They couldn't perform the work they agreed to perform and tried to charge us for their incompetence. It's a husband and wife team. She was rude and got aggressive when I told her no one was paying them $350 for their mistake. She said she had to talk to her husband because she was unfamiliar with the job but I had spoken with her in detail about it 3 days previously.... It was pretty nuts. I highly don't recommend them.

For those of us who own homes in the 92127/92128 area, they are indispensable. You can't find any businesses that know the old hardware or construction methods used back then. Andy and Javier absolutely nailed it, and did a job we had been told by others couldn't be done. We got to keep our 50-year old heavy mirrored closet doors and they were able to install a new track in the recessed tile. They were fast, like they'd done this a million times before, probably because they have. Everything was perfect, you could measure it with a level and it was perfect. This is the dying skill I can't find in a business anymore, people with a "can do" attitude that know how to improvise and yet still get a job done like they've seen it many times before. Everyone else said to give up due to that recessed track and ancient hardware needed to keep this thing rolling. Thank you. We'll call again when it's time for a bigger job.

Before that I was trying to find a large custom size framed mirror but couldn't find anything less than $800. So I had community glass make the glass mirror in the size I wanted and had them install it in the bathroom vanity. I built a frame around it after they were done. Feels great to save a bunch of money!

On a prior arranged date, Dave arrived on time, gave us estimate as how long the job will take. My boss is always hates the noise, so we left and after three hours the job was done to our satisfaction. Dave was courteous, and did a great job (thank you, Dave). One thing should be improved is the communications with the customers. First we have to wait for the quote (I had to ask Mike,where it's), then after sending deposit almost a week past, still we don't know status, again text to Mike, now we know the reason and when it will be done. I reached out to a few vendors, and Coughlin was by far the most helpful and informative. The whole process went smoothly, Kevin was very friendly and easy to work with; he provided the most information on what type of windows to get for our situation. He was very responsive and answered any questions we had. They also had very reasonable prices and detailed quotes. My husband told me on the day of installation, they were punctual, efficient and completed the window replacements on time. We got Simonton laminated double paned windows, and although they haven't blocked out as much sound as I hoped, they actually help a good deal with lowering hot temperatures in that room in the summer. It's been about a year and the windows still look great and work well (they're also much easier to slide open than our old windows). I would definitely recommend them!

We needed to replace our old framed custom shower enclosure; we went with a frameless shower enclosure. After calling a couple of other folks, who tried tried to up-sell us and their prices were very unreasonable. We found Straight Edge on Yelp with great reviews. We called Yovanny, he was responsive and explained everything he was doing/recommending. He came out measured and gave us a quote right away. He communicated every step of the way and was responsive to our questions - EXCELLENT Customer Service. Yovanny and his coworker came out and the workmanship and attention to detail was outstanding. In addition to the workmanship they cared about our floors by laying down tarps all the way out of the house and after they were done there was no evidence that they were there; again this attention to detail and customer service is very noteworthy. The finished enclosure is gorgeous and has improved the look of our bathroom ten fold. I highly recommend Yovanny and Straight Edge. read more

Yovanny and his guys do great work. I had a shower enclosure that had become crooked over the years (original fixture in a 1990 house). We discussed it over the phone, I sent him rough measurements and pictures, then he came in and took final measurements. He was polite and friendly in all contacts. The next week his guys came in and replaced my old framed shower enclosure with a nice, new frameless one. They even noticed during the install that a piece of hardware wasn't right and replaced it a couple days later on their own, instead of leaving the bad piece for me to notice and ask for a replacement. His workers were also quite polite and friendly. All of this, and his work cost hundreds less than an estimate I had gotten a couple years earlier from a "big-name" company. That old estimate was even for a framed enclosure, not the more-expensive & nicer frameless one. I'm quite happy with the results and highly recommend him. read more

These guys are the best Glass & Mirror company I have ever dealt with. We did a complete remodel to our master bathroom creating a very large shower area that we knew only an expert company could come up with the correct frameless glass shower enclosure, From start to finish Yovanny and his staff were professional and courtesies. The day of the install they protected the entire work area even covering the carpet on our staircase with drop clothes. When they were done I walked it the room and it was nothing but the WOW factor. My tile installer highly recommend Straight Edge Glass but I still met with four other installers to make sure I got the very best. I met with Yovanny and should have stopped my search right there! Yovanny was courteous, professional, honest, reliable and asked questions no other installers thought to ask. His bid and one other came in the lowest - but even if it was the highest, I felt the most confident going with Yovanny. Straight Edge was recommended by a friend and we are thoroughly pleased with their work. Jovanny listened to our request to remove an old shower and to install a new frameless shower. His suggestions matched our needs and wishes. His estimate fit our budget and we scheduled the installation. The timeline was as suggested. Yovanny and Dominic were extremely careful in removing the old shower and bringing in new materials (the shower was installed upstairs and we have hardwood floors and stairs - no problems at all). I choose Straight Edge Glass & Mirror based solely upon prior YELP reviews and I am glad I did. Dominic and Bano were polite, professional and did a fantastic job. They installed a DreamLine Mirage-X Frameless Shower Door I purchased through Lowe's. They were able to identify a defective roller (which DreamLine replaced without question) and returned to complete the job when the replacement roller arrived. It is a good sized mirror - 4 feet by 6 feet. Yovanny came out and did the measurements and installed the new mirror a few days later. The workmanship is top notch and they cleaned up when done. I'm sharing this review to help others make informed decisions…read more Leslie Shower Enclosers installed a frameless glass shower door in my home in 2021. Within 2.5 years, the top hinge began failing, screws were visibly pulling out from the wall plate, and the door started hitting the adjacent glass panel. I reported the issue while the hinge was still under the manufacturer's 3-year warranty. Instead of replacing it, the installer adjusted the glass position and left the clearly failing hinge untouched. A year later, now 7 months past the warranty period, the same issue occurred again. I contacted the installer with updated photos, measurements, and the original quote, which he no longer had on file. He acknowledged the hinge should be replaced but said it would now cost me $150 since the warranty had expired, even though I had reported the problem well before it did. After reviewing the original quote from the manufacturer, I discovered that the hinges installed were not the ones listed in the approved order. They were a different model entirely. This likely explains why he had no record of the order, why the hinge wasn't under warranty, and why it failed prematurely. It also explains why he already had a matching replacement hinge in his possession, as seen in a photo he texted me. When I asked why the hinge hadn't been replaced within the warranty period, his response was: "Frankly, I don't feel the vibe to assist anymore." I replied: "I was simply looking for some clarification before paying for the replacement. I was having trouble understanding your previous message. There was no animosity intended." I received no response. When I followed up again to express my safety concerns and disappointment, I was told: "Bye for good." That was the last communication. I was never rude or confrontational, just a customer trying to get a clearly defective hinge addressed. Now I'm stuck hiring another contractor to replace it, and I'm left feeling taken advantage of. This is a heavy glass panel, if it falls, it could cause serious harm. I truly wanted to support a small business and give the benefit of the doubt, but I would not recommend Steve's business based on my experience.
