First of all I wanted to say that the instructors and the facilities were great. They offered different classes for different intensity of workouts which I loved, but there were two things that inevitably got me to stop my membership. 1. I've done a lot of hot yoga before, but I have to say the heat in these classes is somewhat unbearable. I love the Yoga Sculpt and hot Pilates class intensity, but that intense of a workout in that high of heat seems dangerous. I would leave and feel completely drained, and not in the Hot Yoga, rejuvenated way, but like I probably needed to sit in my car and wait to drive home safely. I thought maybe I would acclimate but after a couple months it still was too much. This probably could still work for some people, but if you are at all sensitive to the heat or if cardio is a struggle for you, I'd maybe look into a different studio. 2. What really adds to the heat is the amount of people they jam into one class. It's not only hot, but it gets grossly humid because of all the sweat from the people packed in around you. I mean seriously, you have barely any room to lay flat, let alone extend your arms to the side. I imagine they do this because classes already book up quickly, some over a week in advance. If they didn't pack you in, you probably would never get into a class. My schedule isn't flexible with work, so planning classes to attend over a week in advance is difficult. Then finally getting in a class only to have no space to workout was just too much. You can find great instructors at many studios, but if you can't be comfortable in the workout due to the space you're in, it doesn't seem worthwhile for the high cost. read more

This is my go to studio. I love the mix of different classes and also Original Hot Yoga classes. The instructors are great. They have early morning shorter classes as well. They have butt kicking inferno hot Pilates ... It's a great studio and I never feel Like it's over crowded where I can't move around freely . It's very clean. Def recommend read more

I've been coming here for almost a month now and I have tried almost all the classes here. It's so much fun! I was nervous about the heat because I usually feel uncomfortable in the heat but it's bearable. They had a deal for $59 for one month which is such a great deal! I'm glad I got to try it. 4/21/2017 Ok this is more of a testimony than review so bear with me. This is my original journey & review from 2012 updated 2017. Enjoy! Let me start by saying I've never EVER taken a yoga class in my life prior to Bikram. I'm not the exercise type. As in I drive to the mail box... Literally! I don't meditate. I'm rather type A. I have worked out occasionally at home to the latest DVD miracle, only to give in and collapse into a pathetic heap exhausted and sore. Never lasted more than a week or 2. Personal trainer/gym? Tried that. Again no stamina & very sore after wards not to mention very intimidated by the folks around me. A real social scene. Did I mention the 2500 dollar Bow-flex Tread-climber? Sits by my bed, I literally trip over it getting up. Do I use it? Nope. Boring, UN fun. Over the years I have developed a variety of different issues health wise, from insomnia to ruptured discs in lower back, to migraines. I have been fatigued, with minimal range of motion, and lethargic for AGES... I was in a local coffee place grabbing caffeine to ward off yet another migraine when I came across a little flyer: Bikram Yoga 10 classes. Something inside me said "Go for it." I went home and registered online and scheduled to go the following Monday not knowing a THING about Bikram Yoga or any other type of Yoga. Over the weekend I mentioned the class to a girlfriend of mine who said "Ooh isn't that that HOT YOGA thing? I hear it's really hard." Only THEN did I actually go online to explore the whole Hot Yoga/Bikram gig. Needless to say I was intimidated beyond reason but I had spent the $$ & was bound and determined to give it a try. So I donned my sports bra & shorts, squared my shoulders & went to the studio. 1st thought: (prior to going into the ROOM) : Clean, calm, charming, very nice. Very serene. I wonder if everyone will be in perfect shape. My mind is racing 90 miles a minute. 2nd thought: (after walking into the ROOM): Wow this is pretty hot... kinda feels nice, like a sauna... wait a minute... is that ME in those mirrors? Do I REALLY look this out of shape? Mind still racing. 3rd thought: (about 30 minutes into the gig) HOLY MOLEY THIS IS HOT... I may very well pass out.... can one REALLY sweat this much? Look at what my body can DO! Bravo to me.... wait a minute... what do you MEAN there's 60 more minutes to go? Mind melting more than racing now. 4th Thought: Zzzone... no thoughts... listening intently to the Instructor guiding me through each move... I no longer CARE about my flabby parts... nor anyone Else's... It's as if I'm the only person in the room... All I can do is surrender to the heat, trust my body, listen, and move... barely... through the poses. Final impression (immediately after class) I FEEL AWESOME. I am the Queen of the WORLD! My skin is GLOWING! I'm so RELAXED! When can I come back?! I have gone pretty much daily or every other day since. Over 5 years into it now & I am completely addicted. Migraines: GONE: I haven't had one since the 1st class. Insomnia: GONE: The very first night I slept like a log. Now, no more sleeping pills, & sleeping 6 hours a night or more EVERY NIGHT! (this in itself is a flat out miracle, I've been insomniac for YEARS) Back pain: GONE: Mind you I have ruptured discs. I've had intermittent pain most of my adult years. I've had absolutely NONE since I've started Bikram. Energy & Mood: THROUGH THE ROOF! I'm up chipper as a bird in the mornings... making my husband breakfast at 6am. He thinks I've been abducted by aliens & I'm a clone. I never EVER get up & cook ANYTHING without threat of bodily injury. Stress: Simply ERADICATED! The 90 minutes a day I give to Hot Yoga Ventura and Bikram Yoga has literally become my salvation. I honestly believe that this practice is transforming me from the inside out. I'm a different woman On a superficial vain note: Did I mention I am shrinking and I look 10 years younger? Don't get me wrong, I've always had a pretty good bod, just lucky, but MAN! I'm getting straight up LEAN & MEAN. I am NEVER very sore afterwards. As a matter of fact I have MORE energy when I'm done! And I'm serious about the decade younger thing. My skin is literally glowing. All of this & more is related DIRECTLY to Bikram Yoga and in particular, Hot Yoga Ventura & their STELLAR instructors. They are amazing, focused, knowledgeable, determined, funny, caring, and talented. I am SO grateful to have found this lovely studio. Everyone (I mean EVERYONE) I see asks me what I'm doing and/or if I've had "something done" I tell them YES! (and I then drag them to a class) Most of them love it & get into the groove. There have been a few that don't get it at all. But they ALL love & respect the practice & adore the studio. I am definitely a lifer. Give Bikram & Hot Yoga Ventura a go. Commit to a week. Feel your body and spirit change from the inside out. Give it your very best, & you will simply be AMAZED at your results. read more

worst experience ever, the place is way too crowded. only go if you want strangers' stinky feet in your face. personally i do yoga to achieve a sort of meditative state, however it is soooo distracting with the amount of sweaty strangers directly next to u. i will have nightmares about this place honestly don't get the hype at all ??? don't get me started on the price.... read more

LOVE this yoga! I was doing heated Vinyasa yoga until a fellow student, Aga,mentioned this studio teaching the original heated yoga (Bikram). Life changing practice. I enjoy all the teachers but really enjoyed taking a class with Aga due to her direction and vibe. she was lovely and confident and able to give me personalized correction for alignment. would love to see her more. Love love love this studio! I recommend it to anybody that wants to feel better and is willing to put in some work. The classes have all ages of people at all shapes and sizes with all fitness levels. The first couple of times you go in there you will want to leave the class and never come back but preserve, I promise you it's worth it. It's not just your body changes that include burning calories, building bone density, boosting your cardiovascular fitness, and improving your flexibility that will keep you going but the affect on your mood. If you are having any anxiety or depression issues you want be disappointed in this class and I'm speaking from experience! I had never taken a hot yoga class before, they are very welcoming to beginners, and all of the instructors I've had have been awesome. I have now been coming to Hot Yoga Ventura for 7 months and all I can say is this place ROCKS!!!! I feel stronger, leaner and certainly cleaner ( can't help but sweat in the 105 degrees room during a 90 min practice.) One of the most remarkable things is that Shannon continues to add new challenges and classes to the schedule ; e.g. Bikram beats and Inferno Hot Pilates, that keep me on my toes and excited to practice. I've currently been introduced to Hot Yoga of Ventura via Zoom due to the shelter in. The online classes have been great. I especially love Adriana's class. I have found her to be the easiest to keep up with and modify, as I have some limitations. She is encouraging, uplifting and motivational. Shannon has also been a great help with getting me set up. She is a smart, caring business owner and teacher. These classes have literally made my day, as i am used to getting out and working out every day before work. I would love to visit the studio in person one day when this is all over. read more

Firehouse Hot Yoga is by far the best Yoga/Pilates studio I have ever encountered! It is my happy place My backround is dance and after the pandemic hit, the dance studio I attended sadly closed down, but luckily I still had Shannon's yoga studio. At that time she had a studio in downtown Ventura, luckily she made it through the pandemic and now her yoga studio is on Main St across from Target, and it's beautiful and clean. New owner, new name, great new energy! I took a morning class with Shannon who is the new owner and she is wonderful! She greeted me with a smile and enthusiasm. I was a bit nervous because I was out of town on business for a while and didn't do yoga so I was a bit rusty, however the class went great! Shannon was very positive as she instructed and was very clear on how to do each posture, she was patient and went at a good pace. I love Bikram Yoga so this was much needed! I really loved visiting this studio while on vacation in Ventura! Their Inferno Hot Pilates class was challenging and fun. They follow the IHP workout program well and the teachers gave good demos of what they were asking students to do. I definitely recommend visiting for IHP classes! read more
