I was a first time guest and at check in was offered a tour of the studios, greatly appreciated! The studio is very pretty. I joined the unheated Gentle Flow class and I enjoyed it. Outside each studio door there are instructions on what supplies you will need to grab when you enter, and how many people to a row. I love clear instructions! Especially as a first timer to the studio. Rebecca was a great instructor and gave great suggestions throughout the class on different things you could try during each stage if you wanted to kick it up a notch or keep things simple. Provided cleaning materials in the back of the studio for the items used was great! I enjoyed myself thoroughly. I don't live in the area, otherwise I would visit often. I've been a member at Grassroots Yoga since May 2024, and it has been absolutely worth the cost. I originally signed up to de stress and try hot yoga, and it's the first time in my life I've actually enjoyed going to classes and stayed consistent. The quality of instruction alone makes the pricing feel fair. Every instructor is highly skilled and brings their own intention and energy to class. I'm especially drawn to Carrie for her light hearted humor, grounding presence, and nurturing teaching style. Each class feels thoughtfully planned and you truly get your money's worth. The studio offers even more value beyond classes. The staff is warm and welcoming, and the space itself is a cozy boutique style studio with curated gifts, skincare like EarthTonics, and yoga brands such as Beyond Yoga. It feels community focused, supportive, and non judgmental, which is something I have not experienced at other studios even at higher price points. They also include added value through events and workshops that deepen your practice without feeling transactional. Even the EarthKandee vending fridge with healthy snacks and drinks feels like a thoughtful extra after class. For the quality of instruction, the welcoming environment, and everything included, Grassroots Yoga offers excellent value for the price. Grassroots yoga is an amazing community of people with a wide range of classes suitable for people at many different fitness levels. The teaching staff is incredibly talented and cares deeply for their students. The fact that they offer both heated and unheated classes is a huge bonus. Initially I was resistant to classes that weren't heated or power flow, but recent health challenges (and summer weather) forced me to reconsider my previous stance. Grassroots really stands out in this community as a yoga location that our people can go to for more challenging AND gentle classes. Such a blessing to have a membership here. read more

Ahismsa: non-harming, and yet the music is so loud that it not only hurts your ears while trying to practice, it is literally leading to hearing loss for all 26 people that were in the room (based on the science of the the little hairs in ears that super important in hearing being damaged...and they do not regenerate). Why the loud music??!....literally the teacher is SHOUTING (not pleasant and not conductive introspection, and therefore, is it really yoga?) and even with yelling instructions as if you are in boot camp, half the time, you can't hear the instructions because the music is so loud. What a tense yoga experience. Nice sequencing and pace, but harmful to the body. If a teacher needs the music that loud to create a dynamic vibe, she might want to look at her approach to teaching and ability to create an experience read more

I started with the introductory unlimited first moth as a birthday gift to myself. I hadn't done much Yoga in the past, but it was time to try something new. I quickly became addicted! I can honestly say Grassroots Yoga Studio has been life-changing for me. I first walked in on a discounted new-student trial membership after developing Achilles tendinitis from running. I needed to take a break from running and hoped yoga might help me heal. What I found was so much more. Not only did this practice completely heal my Achilles tendinitis, but I feel healthier than I ever did as a long-distance runner. Excellent business with the caveat that it's a financial commitment. The staff, facilities, fellow yogis, and classes are exemplary. As someone who had only been to less than ten classes, it's been a rollercoaster because different teachers and classes have challenges and mindsets and are engrained in creating and maintaining a safe/comfortable/spiritual experience. I've yet to experience the community side of things, but I'm also just getting into the practice and am drenched in sweat afterward. I would love to see some earlier morning classes, but due to my working hours, my last note is that as someone actively in therapy, these classes connect and are restorative while aligning with them. read more

Teachers at the studio are very good but it's nearly impossible to get into a class. If you are interested in the heated classes just about every class on every day is waitlisted. If you put yourself on a waitlist you may get in but often times you don't. You end up checking and rechecking your phone which defeats the purpose of relaxing and rebalancing. Should you miss the text that you got into the class, even as close to 30 minutes before the class starts, you are charged a fee. The monthly pass is 150$ to essentially never get into a class or get charged for not hanging into your phone all day waiting to see if you're off a waitlist. It's terrible business practice. Classes are jam packed. Not my idea of adding something beneficial to my life. read more

It's hard for me to even describe the impact Grassroots yoga has had on my life. In its birth, I had just lost to my house in the Thomas fire. The strength I found in Grassroots helped me to rise as a phoenix and move forward with grace. In the midst of chaos and turmoil I found stability and safety. Throughout the years I was not very consistent with my practice. However, when I was in my 21st year of public school teaching, I needed a sanity break. For the last year, Grassroots has been my saving grace. After a tough day, I'm able to breathe it out and leave it behind to start fresh daily. I have been going to Grassroots for about 3 months now and I LOVE IT! The heated power flow never fails to disappoint. I have noticed an improvement in my flexibility and mobility since starting. I've been to other studios in Ventura but this is the only one I liked enough to buy a monthly membership. I l appreciated that there was a discounted new student pass for a month so I could try it out without a big commitment. The instructors are very knowledgeable and all of the staff are friendly and helpful. It felt very welcoming from the start. I haven't really gotten that vibe from the other studios where people seemed more aloof and intimidating for those just trying yoga for the first time. The instructors offer a lot of options for each pose so even if a standard pose is challenging, you can always build up to it. The facility is very clean, modern, and welcoming. I love the candlelit classes. The lack of mirrors surprised me at first but I do like that it helps me focus inward; rather than worrying about if a pose looks right I can just do what feels right for my body. There are tons of classes to choose from at many different times so I can always find one to fit my changing schedule. I haven't practiced yoga for many years and coming here has made it simple to ease back into it. There are also workshops and events that make it feel like a real community. The app they use for reserving a class is very easy to use. Although there is a penalty for canceling your class reservation less than 3 hours prior that is actually great for me since it gives me a little push to show up to class even if I feel tired or lazy (don't judge!). And the reservation system caps the number of people in a class so it's not too crowded. Definately give this gem of a yoga studio a try. You won't regret it. Namaste read more

I just started going here less than a month ago. I bought the new student pass you can go unlimited for a month for $68. They have a ton of classes and times and a lot of the classes are heated which I love. So far I have loved every class I've taken. The teachers are great, the classes are challenging in a good way, some are for restoration as well. You can choose from heated and none heated , butt kicking and calm and mellow. I definitely feel I've found my new home studio. It's clean , you can fill your water and the heated classes give you a complimentary cold towel at the end. Each teacher offers a unique experience. I was looking for a yoga place close to me and started researching grassroots yoga. They have great entry-level classes and the rates are reasonable. It looks like they have a variety of classes but maybe not enough teachers because some of the classes get canceled very easily. After the introductory rate, the rates go up considerably so I'm not sure why the value doesn't carryover from a new client to an existing client? I sent an inquiry through their website and did get an email about a week and a half later asking if I was interested in yoga classes. They also have a variety of products in their front area and yoga related items in the front area. read more

An astonishingly inconsiderate business with equally self-absorbed customers. The business has nowhere near the necessary parking to accommodate their customers. Every single day, the customers park in the neighborhood, routinely taking two parking spots for a single car. There is very limited parking on the side streets and many of the local home owners depend on street parking. The customers and business have been politely asked OVER AND OVER to please only use a "single" parking space per vehicle, but they continue the same behavior. Sometimes they even park across driveways (because they've already monopolized all the other spaces). When the studio's management was asked to please remind the customers to be considerate of the limited local parking, they said they WOULD NOT address it. They simply do not care. There is nothing "namaste" about this rude, self-serving, dismissive collection of people. Painfully offensive. read more

I've been wanting to consistently practice yoga for the longest time. I heard about the 'New Student' promotion through a friend which is $49 for a month of unlimited classes. That's a steal! They have classes ranging from beginners to intermediate to challenging. I'm a beginner and just started to take the classes. I've taken both the Yinfusion and 101 Flow. Both of which have been great and not too crowded. The instructors I've had so far (Annabel and Kelly) have been amazing. They're encouraging, supportive, engaging, and most importantly, positive. The moves haven't been too difficult but challenging enough to feel like you're doing work, especially for the 101 Flow with Kelly. I can't wait to take the weekend classes! The floors are heated and some of the classes heat the room up to 90-95 degrees F! The place is really hip, clean, and modern. When you walk in, you can't help but feel really calm and at peace. They have a nice sitting area and store selling clothes, sage, and soaps. There's a restroom at the very back of the studio. Remember to take off your shoes when you enter the studio. You can leave your shoes just as you walk in to the right. They also have cabinets for you to put your things in before you enter the studio which is convenient. I joined with the unlimited first month but only attended 2 classes. The classes were so full that our mats were only 6 inches apart which I found very unsafe during COVID times. Especially, in a heated room with a lot of heavy breathing. The floor was covered in everyone's sweat. In most yoga studios, new people are greeted by the teacher. I didn't even get an acknowledgement. Some of the reviews mentioned the friendly staff and students. Other than the gals at the front desk, this was not my experience at all. I've taken Pilates and love working out, but this is one of my first experiences with yoga. And I love it! It's like meditating with body movement that helps you stretch, strengthen and align your body. The front office, Nicole is amazing and made me feel very welcomed my first day there. She showed me around and introduced me to the instructor. The facility is bright and clean. You also have the option of renting a space to leave your yoga mat there, which is so good if you do not feel like dragging your yoga mat around with you everywhere. I heard of grassroot through one of my members at OTF, Adele B. She let me know that she loves the instructors there and told me which classes she likes best. I first came here for a Yinfusion & Gong Bath non heated class and I instantly fell in love with the ambiance, the aroma, and the peaceful feeling surrounding you. I have never done a yoga class before so this was a true eye opener for me. I wanted to try out a heated class, since I thought I wasn't going to like that one, but I decided to sign up within the last 30 mins before class started for the candlelit power flow. I LOVED it! Although a couple of really fantastic teachers - this studio loses my vote. Tiny charges add up and are NOT worth being able to get in occasional to well educated teachers . The owner seems to figure out either how to put fear into her front desk people and charge charge charge . No wonder she was able to construct an larger facility . In a year apparently there "another" person w my same name buying up their store but charging me yeah what a hassle getting text from arm distant yogi's pretending to give a rats ass. Loved my experience at this studio! Great instructors, clean and well kept premises, super friendly staff & clientele and it has a nice little retail venue on the side... I hadn't done a yoga practice for a long time as I was dedicated to a Bikram routine for many years when I was younger but so enjoyed the Vinyasa style with the heat and eased back into a practice effortlessly. I highly recommend a drop-in to check this "gem" of a studio out as you won't be disappointed!! If I could give this place all the stars in the night sky I would. This place has been a retreat for my weary and hungry soul, and a reprieve from so many negative thoughts and emotions that I have been carrying for far too long. I happened upon this place during the middle of an anxiety/panic/whatever attack because I liked the descriptions of the classes. I wasn't looking for a supercharged yoga workout (though they provide that as well), I was looking for a space to recharge my heart and soul, and guidance to really start my practice. I really believe the universe heard my call, gave me an easy answer, and said "Here you go dear heart, now go do the work." Having struggled with addiction for years, I'm finally working towards becoming sober. The teachers gently guide you through poses, adjust your body where needed and take you to lots of different edges: mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, all of 'em! I've had a lot of breakthrough moments during practice and have cried more than a few times. They are tears of joy, tears of release, tears of gratitude, that I found this studio, that I have this body to do this work and that I am showing up.
