I placed my order online. I arrived 1 minute before it was expected to be ready. I stood at the register for about 5 minutes with not so much as a hello from the staff. Finally, I was approached and mentioned that I had placed an online order. It was ready and sitting in the pickup area the entire time but I did not know. Something was wrong with the soda machine but I did not have time to mess with it so I left with a drink that was far more soda than flavor. Of all the ways to ruin my meal, putting fresh onion on it is #1. I clearly said no onion on my online order, but when I got my order home, there was onion. Into the trash the sandwich goes. I don't dislike onions, I hate them. They ruin my appetite. Which is why I ordered no onions, a very simple request. This was ignored, and I am mad. It completely ruined my lunch, and here I am back to work with nothing to eat. They get a high score for atmosphere. Being a large chain but having a large painting of an Arvada FD fire truck is a nice touch. read more

Not sure what's going on with employee schedules, but for a Saturday night they could use more than 2 people fulfilling orders. There are 5 of us just sitting around waiting for online orders to be prepared. Mine is over 20 minutes past the time it was supposed to be ready and people keep walking in. read more

The food here is yummy and maybe we went in on an off night with no manager present, but it was filthy. High schoolers took our order with minimal words uttered, made the sandwiches and then disappeared into the back. C'mon kids, it takes just 2 minutes to sweep and wipe tables. The floors and tables were filthy, trash overflowing. I went out to my car to get some wipes to clean our table off. Came in with a BOGO coupon during the quarantine. Still open and serving with a smile. Had a great deal going and I like their selection. Their subs are little more on the comfort food side and probably not as low calorie as the others. There is a reason though as they do not skimp on the meat. I thought I would get home to find something average but what I found was the meat to bun ratio was better than expected. There is a sub shop on every corner at 64th & Ward. If I'm watching my weight then probably Subway is a better choice, but if your looking for a hearty, delicious sub then this place fits the bill. read more

There are a lot of sandwich places. Many provide decent food but Firehouse is above most of them. We've been patronizing them for a few years and it's our go to sandwich place. I usually order the hook and ladder on regular bread. It's a loaded sandwich with plenty of meat and spices galore. Another one we ordered was the engineer which was decent enough. It has turkey, mushrooms, Swiss cheese and various spices. I have their app but it has been a bit buggy for me. I hope they improve it as ordering is difficult on it. Anyway my sandwich was quite good. Plenty of turkey, ham, cheese and all that other stuff. It is filling and very tasty. We have noticed that it takes a little extra time making sandwiches but then you'll get quality and quantity. When we order take out they wrap each sandwich and place it on a carton along with a slice of pickle. That is great when you eat part of it you can easily place the rest in its container in your refrigerator. Now it's nothing fancy if you are dining in but it is usually clean and functional. Maybe it's just a matter of personal choice but this place really is where we prefer to go. There are several sandwich shops closer to us but we hop in the car for a few extra minutes of driving for our favorite sandwiches. Pricing is quite reasonable especially when compared to other shops. We keep forgetting but they also have salads for the no carb people. Top rated in my book! read more

Worst sub ever. I have never had a warm Italian sub and this was a soggy disgusting mess. Italian subs are typically cold and have oil-vinegrette dressing or similar. I ordered it with NO mayo and NO mustard, which showed up correctly on the receipt. However they put mayo on both sides. The warm wilted lettuce was gross. No Italian seasonings. The meat wasn't laid out in slices. Instead they keep it rolled up so it falls apart when you bite in. The bottom bread wasn't cut so the whole thing fell apart when I tried to pick up a half. Well lunch hour was a flop. I ordered two sandwiches and a side salad. Know-one was ahead of my order. My receipt time ordered was 12:04. Patrons continued to come in following my order, including a grub hub driver for a pickup. The driver told the staff at Firehouse that the his order was called in 30 minutes ahead (Not ready!) After checking on my order, I was told they were working on it, TWICE, of which one of the times was a growly manager (Tis, Tis) Bottom line....I received my order at 12:30. They were adequately staffed, 4 employees making sandwiches, not including the manager. I actually felt bad for the very very young staff that had to work for this particular manager under her very very intense Persona. read more

Not as well kept as other FH Subs we've been to. Seats were half full inside but they seemed overwhelmed. Cashier was tough to understand and get her to understand our order. Garbage overflowing in the lobby and the bathroom. Toilet wouldn't flush. Super slow service. Food was ok. Probably won't be back to this location. read more

I am giving the employees 4 stars for great customer service. I enjoy the variety of subs and have no complaints. To the owner it concerns me o have seen only 1 younger employee running the store late at nite. That is a concerning business practice as the neighborhood changes after dark. read more

Great addition to the area and another great choice for a sub sandwich. Really appreciate the greeting from the staff when you walk in. They make it easy to identify a sub with pictures of each lined across the counter by the register. At end of the counter are various selections of hot sauces from all around you can add to your sub. Lucky it's a firehouse because some of these are hot and can extinguish with a cold beverage. Will be back for sure to work my way through the sub selections. read more

Food was fine. Young girl working was sweet, but young blonde manager (Why he's a manager I don't know) was talking badly about other co workers in front of customers and other employees. He was very rude and and was arguing like a 13 yr old with his co worker about how she complained about him and he almost didn't get the manager position. I had the Italian and really enjoyed it, the bread seems very fresh as well as the meats and veggies. I really like the contrast of hot vs cold and the sauce really bound it all together. A great place to sit and have a sub and watch some sports. The restaurant was clean and the staff very friendly and patient as we have two small kids who are a pain. Will definitely will be back as I'm a huge sub lover from the East coast and we don't have a lot of options in Arvada. read more

This was the first time going to firehouse subs at the Arvada location. My boyfriend and I ordered a large and medium New York steamer and they were both cold. I went up to the register and asked for another sandwich and they made another one no problem and apologized, although it was cold again!
